Hey everyone. im evan and im 15. i have melanoma skin cancer and my 17 year old brother makes fun of me all the time. he physically hurts me (punches me in the chest and in the junk) and calls me names like "mole" or "cancer boy." hes always trying to put me down or hurt me in some way. we've never gotten along but since my diagnosis its only gotten worse.
This is also kind of a seperate question but some of my friends treat me different like its some contagious disease that they can catch if they get to close to me. What can i do to get them to treat me like they used to?
And most importantly what can i do to get my brother to knock it off and treat me with respect? I tell my parents but they dont think mitch could be like that. they think hes perfect and im the problem. (link)

i totally agree with OhMyLucyDarling. sit down and talk with the whole family. you can also try and talk to your school's guidance councler or some adult that you really trust. as the others said, he may have some emotional problem or he may be jealous, are you getting all the attention because of your cancer? he has ABSOLUTELY NO RIGHT to do anything like that to you, that is assault.
for your friends, i would do the activities you all like to do and that you all used to do. and if they act weird you can just plain tell them, "it's not contagious, you don't have to act weird around me"

Heyy, I'm looking into doing a research project and need some advice to help me figure out if it is worth moving foawrd with. I'm going to test the project on here, so please the more people that answer the better! it's super easy!
I just want to know if there are certain sodas you specifically dnt like because of the amount of fizz. whether it has too much or too little and what those drinks are.
and would you prefer if their were lines of soda that had light fizz and heavy fizz?? or would that be too many choices and/or annoying.
basically im trying to think of problems with soda so I can evaluate them. if you can give me any of your personal advice on these issues id REALLY appreciate it. this seems dumb, i know, but it's very important to me. thank you and i will rate!(: (link)

look, all my friends cut them selfs all the time right, and i have always known it was wrong!
but one day i was so very low and the only thing i could think of doing was cut myself, i did not use a knife or anything that sharp for that matter and the cut was not that deep,i thought it would heal soon after i did it,
but its turned into a scar :(
i dont need any responces saying its bad to cut myself as i know this and i will never do it again (belive me)
but the scars are on the upside of my arm near the bottom they have healed and they are sorta white ish you know.
and i was wondering if you knew any ways to get rid of them or make them not that noticeable as i am a little bit taned they stand out more,
please tell me anything that works please :)
and whats the best thing to get

I have a lump in my right armpit. It doesn't feel like the right one. It hurts when i touch it. And it isn't discolored at all. I'm not positive what it is. I looked it up, and it said it COULD be breast cancer.
Does anyone know what this could be? (link)

well it could be from shaving. after i shave i get razor bumps that hurt under my armpits but if i don't shave and put after shave on it; it goes away after a while. idk if this is what you are talking about but that's my opinion.

I love art! Thing is I totally suck at it. I wish I was better. But it's like all these kids I know who like art are also very good at drawing and stuff. Which kind of discourages me because I wasn't born with that talent. Is there hope for me? Because I want to join art classes but I don't want to be embarrassed because of my suck drawings. :/

it's ok that you aren't that great at drawing. if you love something then do it, even if your not great. lol, ofcourse there is hope for you. and that's what art classes are for, for you to learn; that's what all the other kids will be there for. don't be embarrassed, you will get better :) good luck

soo i was doing some facebook stalking of a good friend of mine. and she has alot of pictures with this one guy, so they're good friends. he is the most attractive guy i've ever seen haha. i added him as a friend and sent him a message like a week ago but he didn't say anything back:/ not to be cocky but i'm a pretty goodlooking girl. should i tell my friend i want to meet him? or would that just be creepy? anyy advice? if i were you i would ask your friend if he has a girlfriend and to introduce you. and he's probably not messaging you back because he doesn't know you lol. not to me, why would it be creepy? you just think he is atractive and want to meet him.

I saw a picture of Miley Cyrus with the word "LOVE" on her ear. I think it was her right ear and it was in black letters. I think it sounds like a really cool idea for a tattoo but I kind of want to know if this celebrity did it first, you know? Did she or was it a photoshopped thing? (link)

i don't think it was photoshopped because it's in more than one photo so im going to assume that it's real and also as the other person said, assume that she has the "just breathe" tatoo also. but im wondering why it has not been on the news yet?

I am a girl and the whole school thinks I'm gay. I'm not a homosexual though at all. I like guys. I'm VERY attracted to guys. The problem is I like guys that are a lot older and it's embarrassing to tell anybody because they'd think I'm nasty. By a lot older I mean, well, A LOT.
So, I don't tell my friends when I have a crush on a boy and I don't find the same guys they find hot attractive. They haven't ever seen me with a boyfriend BUT they never saw me kissing on a girl or something that would make me a lesbian.
I do have short hair but it's in like a pixie style that I really love and I've had the haircut for a few YEARS now so it isn't like I chopped it all off overnight. I'm not butchy or anything and I love the color pink so I'm always dressed up and I usually wear bright colors. I think I'm decently pretty, I guess, and I'm definitely no tomboy.
So, why do they think I'm gay? Should I tell them I like REALLY old guys? Should I change my hairstyle or my clothes? I'm confused. I don't want them to think I'm gay any more. It makes me sad and like I don't fit in. (link)

well for starters, just for the record, when you get out of school, it won't matter what people thought of you. but, honestly i have no idea why people think you're gay. they have no reason to. don't change anything about you just for them! just be proud of who you are (which is NOT a homo!) haha. if you want to, just say i like older guys but don't say A LOT older because they might take it the wrong way, but it's not bad to have a preference on age :)

Do guys get turned on by different things? I was talking to my boyfriend about sex and what turns him on and he sounded really weird. He said that most "normal" things don't turn him on like seeing boobs or something. He said he really didn't find porn interesting either and likes to get off on other stuff. some people get turned on by different things. it's like some people liking apples and some oranges so i don't think he's weird. sometimes porn doesn't cut it for some people. he could like more hard core stuff i guess? you could ask him "what" turns him on exactly. but keep in mind, don't judge him for what he likes.

All my friends got there period and talk about how it hurts and they hate it is it really that bad.....and when I get it I'll be emberssed to tell my mom how is a easy way to tell my mom that I got my period. Also there's white stuff in

everybody's body is different. i got mine when i was 12 but my friend got hers when she was 16. unfortunately it does hurt because of cramps but you can take midol (a pill for cramps incase you didn't know) and that usually helps me. and it also is bad because... well you have blood coming out of you lol but you use tampons and pads etc. and it gets easier. don't be embarassed to tell your mom, it's natural. i got it at one of the worst akward places "my dad's bosses house" so it was a little embarassing but only my mom knew. i just called my mom in and said "i think i got my period". it's not easy to tell her but you can't just sit there haha. every girl has "white stuff" or discharge in their vagina and it sometimes comes out in their underwear. i do not think it means you will go through it soon cause every girl has it all the time but im not saying you won't go through it soon but i dont think its because of discharge. hope i helped :)

Hi Emily, I'm 14 too and i was actually offered a job, but i didn't want to do it. You can go to a plaza/mall around your area that says "Help wanted" or something. Your best bet would be at a pet store or a school supplies store or wal*mart or something like that. I was offered a job at a school supplies store. You may want to wait until summer Because I'm not sure how much they are hiring kids not in the summer. Hope i helped!

I like this guy who I go to school with, and I've known him for a while, but never really noticed how cute and nice he is until a few weeks ago. The thing is, we barely ever talk. At all. I talked to him more today than I have for 8 years (Ha) and it wasn't even that much. I look at him quite a bit, and notice him looking at me sometimes, too. But that might be nothing more than just glancing. Maybe I'm just hyper-sensitive to it now. He's in my phys/ed, biology, and pre-calculus classes (Just as some extra info...). I want to start talking to him more, but don't really know too much about him. How can I get him to really notice me and possibly get interested in me? Thanks so much to anyone who can help :)

well, you could start by saying "Hi" just if you see him in the hallway or something, just friendly and stuff and then you can joke with him some. Ask him about homework and assignments and stuff. Strike up a conversation about school, and when you are talking, if it becomes silent, just say something random lol, like "So... How's life?" or "So... haha whats up" "Do you like sports?" "Did you do Mr.Teacher's homework?" and just see where that takes you :) i hope i helped some good luck ;)

today was cold and i didnt have a jacket..i guess i looked frozen during lunch because my best friend(guy) walked up to me,kissed me on the cheek,draped his jacket over my arms,said \"here looks like u need this\" gave me my favorite smile and walked away.i thought it was really sweet so later i saw him and he looked cold so i walked up to him, kissed him on the cheek, said \"thanks but i think you need it now\" smiled and walked away..he ran after me and was like i can share this and gave me a hug....im not really sure if were goin out or not because usually people dont kiss people unless their goin out so..any ideas whats happining??? i think he definitely likes you and cares about you and he's not afraid to show it. I don't think you are "going out" because he hasn't asked you on a date, im guessing. but, you can invite him for ice cream or pizza or something just the two of you and see where that takes you. im not 100% sure what's going on either but i hope i kind of helped :)

My hair is soooo ugly right now!!! I have medium hair length (shoulder length), my natural color is light brown/dirty blonde, but I often dye my hair a medium/dark brown. I used to have naturally straight hair when I was little, but after a few years it started to get wavyier. And now whenever I shower or get my hair wet, it naturally is wavy. But since my hair is so short, there's like 5 waves and it looks so gross. That's why I straighten it everyday for school. I know that is a lot of damage to my hair... So I don't need reminders. Here's the thing- I play after school sports right now and my schedule is very crazy and hectic, so I don't really have the time to get it recolored, cut, or deep conditioned. Right now I am using Loreal Vive pro shampoo and conditioner for very dry/damaged hair and I'm not really seeing a difference. Any suggestions on what products I should use? Another thing I noticed is that each individual strand is separated from one another, not like bunched up in clusters of hair... It's weird.
Also, whenever I straighten my hair, it straightens it for a few minutes but then after a while, goes back to normal. I don't know if it's my hair, or if I need a new straightener or what? Where I'm from, there's not much humidity.
Can anyone PLEASE help me?? Rememeber, I don't have the time and money to go to a salon or anything like that.

okay so i get really self-conscious with a guy i like. i'm 19 years old and lets just give a situation here:
i could moon or flash a stranger but i could NEVER do that to a guy i liked. it's happened before, it even happened last night. it was me, my cousin and the guy i like. my cousin is a guy also and me and him were like fighting and so i pulled down my pants and like mooned him to make him mad and he was like awh SICK! because he's my cousin haha and then the guy i like was like, do it again! i didnt seeeee. and then i was like all shy and i was like "nooo!" and my cousin was like she's too scared to, she never will do stuff like that. and it was sort of embarassing.
i'm just not comfortable being sexual at all even though i want to be! i don't know how to overcome it. i feel like the guy will just judge my body, even though i'm skinny and a pretty girl but that doesnt help me!
