Q: I'm planning on getting a tatoo soon. It's going to be on my lower back and I was wondering, does it hurt alot? It's not going to be big either. If anyone has gotten one in that specific place, I would greatly appreciate an honest, detailed answer. Thanks!
I've got good news and bad news.

The bad news: It's been my experience that tattoos ALWAYS hurt!

The good news: The pain is not unbareable. Mostly, it's just annoying. Sort of like being scratched by a kitten. Over and over and over.

If it gets to be too much, just let your artist know, and he or she will let you have a break ;) They will understand.

Don't get yourself too worked-up over how much it's going to hurt becuase once it's over you'll barely even remember how much it hurt, and you'll have an awesome piece of body art forever! yey!

Q: My wonderful boyfriend left his pillow next to a wall that was covered in damp and now the whole pillow and the pillow case (part of a setso not easily disposed of) are covered in a blackish yellow mould. I've tried washing them but it didn't work. Any suggestions??
Gross!

My advice to you would be to buy a new pillow!

The mold can hide deep inside the pillow and be hard to get rid of. Mold can be dangerous, and in some cases even deadly. In light of the facts, I'm not sure why you want to risk keeping the moldy pillow.

Q: Sorry I wasn't sure which subject to put this under, but is there any type of foods or drinks I can eat to make my hair grow faster?
Hmm... as far as foods go, Jell-O will help your hair and nails grow longer and stronger, but you have to eat a LOT of it ;)

One thing that works well is pre-natal vitamins. You can get them over the counter at most pharmacies. After taking them for a month or so, you will be suprised at how much shinier your hair is and how much it's grown. Same for your finger nails.

Another trick I learned from a hairdresser is getting plenty of sunlight. Apparently UV-B rays make your hair grow faster. A tanning bed will work too. Personally, I don't recommend the UV-B method because of the damage to your skin - but it's your call.

Hope That Helps!

Q: I am Junior in high school 16years old and male, I have a decent appearance and am comfortable with the way I look, except I have a problem.

I have thinning hair, it has started in the front of my hair line, towards my scalp. I part my hair in the center or on the side and it is slightly obvious that my hair is thinning. If i run my hand through my hair i will have no problem pulling out about 10-15 hairs, on average. It is in my family to lose hair early and I would really like to change it, at least make me feel a bit more comfortable with my hair. IS there somthing I can do to make it look fuller, do certain shampoos/hair styles work? any advice would be great, I dont want to lose my hair by my 21st birthday :-(
You would be suprised at how many guys this happens to! When I was in highschool I knew 2 or 3 guys who were noticably balding!

To answer your question: There are plenty of volumizing shampoos and conditioners on the market that work well. I would recomend trying different brands until you find one that works for you.

As far as styles: Parting your hair on the side will make a big difference! It will make your hair appear thicker and fuller. I also recommend using a volumizing mousse.

Lastly, I think asking your doctor to recommend a dermatologist who could help you with your hairloss problem may be a good idea.

Good Luck!

Q: how do you put a link on your myspace page?

like i want a l8ink to my friends site and i want the text of the link to say, 'Tim'

how do I do that?

please&thanks =]
first thing you need is the web address of your friends site (go there, then copy the address from your browser.)
next go to the edit profile section on MySpace and put this code in where you want the link to appear:

Q: i want to buy a louis vuitton purse like this and i found this on ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=130041054836 go look at the bottom where it says LOUIS VUITTON PARIS MADE IN THE U.S.A well is it a fake because i thought they were made in paris or france or something? it says that its real but idk thanks
If it says MADE IN THE U.S.A. it's knock off. The real one's say "Louis Vuitton Paris, MADE IN FRANCE"

So you are correct. They are made in Paris (Which, by the way, is IN France.)

Q: 19/F

For Halloween I'm going dressed up as Tom Cruise in Risky Business... you know, the scene where he's dancing in his undies and a dress shirt?

Well, my question is this... do I wear the costume with black fishnets underneath, or beige pantyhose? I think the fishnets might make it a little less slutty (I'm scared people will think I'm really just wearing undies)

This is tomorrow, so I need opinions!
I would wear the pantyhose. As you recall, Tom did NOT wear fishnets in the movie, and I think it would throw the costume off.
One idea is to wear some tight flesh colored leg warmers over the pantyhose. This will both help you to appear less naked and help keep you warmer.
(Check Target for the legwarmers!)

BTW: That's a really cute costume idea!

Happy Halloween!

Q: I want to give my daughter pink streaks in her hair for Halloween (she's 3). I bought spray on hair color that goes on really nice and bright. But I can't figure out how to give her streaks, like highlights. After I get the streaks right I want to pull back her hair in a ponytail and put glitter on it. It will look really cute if I can ever figure it out.

Any suggestions?
Use plastic wrap and section out the pieces of hair you want to be pink. Spray the sections pink and leave the plastic wrap on them until they are dry. I would shy away from aluminum foil because sometimes the alumninum reacts with hair products and alters the color. Professional colorists use 'foil' for highlights, but it's not made from aluminum. You can get professional foil at Sally's Beauty Supply if you want, but I think plastic wrap will be more cost effective.

Happy Halloween!

Q: I'm currently taking a Speech class in college. I know for a FACT that it will transfer to a different college I want to go to (a community college). After going there, I wanna go to a 4-year college. Will the Speech class transfer to both colleges or can it only be transferred to one?

The class is just your average Public Speaking class so it should transfer just about anywhere.
Once college A has accepted the Public Speaking course for credit it is as if you took that class at college A. It is up to college B whether or not they will accept that class for credit (meaning, it will not matter how many times you transfer the credit.)

Hope that helps!
*You can always talk to your advisor or counselor at school for more information on what will or will not transfer to which schools ;)

Q: Whenever I put my hair up [using a hair band] in something like a ponytail, it usually falls down soon after. How do you put your hair up and use your band to make it tight abnd sturdy, and so that it stay for a long period of time?
I have really thick hair, and sometimes have that problem when I work-out, or use an elastic that has lost it's elasticity.
I recommend replacing your hair bands once you've used them for about a month.
I use elastics called 'stay put' and they work REALLY well to keep your hair-up for a long time. You can get them at Target or Wal-Mart.

Q: Yea i really want to look better in my homecoming dress which means a bit darker.
So i bought this Jergens glow stuff..
Will i streak or turn orange cuz that would be horrible.
I`m fairly tanned from going tanning but i want it to look better..
Homecoming is Oct 14th
I use Jergens Natural Glow, and it does NOT steak at all. I just try to apply it evenly in circular motions, and that works well for me.
It does not turn me orange. It also does not turn my Mom orange (the only other person I know who uses it). So, that's 2 for 2 non-orange people ;)
I love it.

Have Fun at the Dance!

Q: ok so me and this guy are bf and gf and it's only been like a week right. well he is amazing, like he treats me so good and it's like woah, calls me every night, walks me to class holding my hand yadda yadda yadda haha. well i heard from his ex gf from like 2 years ago and she was saying how mean and horrible he was and to not make the same mistake that she did. but everybody else that i talk to that knows him says the complete opposite. but i'm worried that since we haven't been going out long that i just haven't see who he really is...what could possibly be going on?

we're both 17 if that helps
Ex-Girlfriends are not always the best source of information. It's possible that this girl still likes your guy and is jealous of how well things are working out for the two of you.

On the other hand, it could be entirely true that he was 'mean and horrible' to her. Although, I doubt that should have any impact on your relationship. Maybe he was trying to get her to break-up with him, maybe he just likes you better ergo he treats you better. Maybe 2 years ago he was a 'mean and horrible' person in general. Who knows? The point is: If he treats you well and makes you happy, there is no reason to listen to what anyone else has to say about your relationship ;)

Hope That Helps!

Q: I'm 16 years old, and I'm a female.

Just recently I lost my virginity to my boyfriend, of whom I've been dating for close to a year. I don't regret it, but I know I need to go on the pill because we're going to have sex often. My mother and eldest sister always reassure me that I need to tell them when I start having sex so we can go to the doctors to put me on the pill.

Problem? He's 24 years old. My parents are completely fine with me dating him, he's a close family friend, and I've known him since I was very very young. He means more then anything to me, and y'all are probably sitting there, like, "eww" but it's the truth.

My sister just told me the other day, "You know I'll take you to the doctors when you're ready, to.. you know, but you're ONLY twelve." It's because I'm the baby of the family, and to them I seem still very young.

I don't know how to ask, I'm so confused.
We've already decided not to have sex again until I actually go on the pill, just because of everything bad that could potentially happen if I were to get pregnant.

Thanks tons. [:
For even reading this!!
Congratulations on making the choice to start having sex, and on being responsible enough to know that it's time to start taking the pill.

I think your sister may have just made that comment because she doesn't know you're already at the point that it's time to go to the doctor, and she doesn't want to push you into anything your not ready for.

If you still feel like you don't want to tell your mom and/or sister you can always make the appointment yourself, or have your mom make the appointment for something else and when you are alone with your doctor discuss your options.

If you don't want to go through your family doctor, you can always go to the local health department and get birthcontrol from them (look them up in the phone book.) Or if there is a Planned Parenthood Clinic in your area, they will set you up wil birthcontrol pills too.

Good Luck!

Q: How do I get I guy to like me?
I'm not sure that you can really make another person do or like anything...
Ways to get him interested in you will vary from guy to guy, but I think one sure fire method is to be nice to him. Do things for him that you would want someone to do for you.

Good Luck!

Q: There's this girl I'm friends with and I don't really want to be friends with her anymore. She's like way too clingy. She always makes me wait for her or wait with her while she's getting her lunch when she's in line. She also won't stop calling me and following me and she always wants me to be her partner for every single project. She also hurts me for no reason at all!!! And everytime I leave without her for lunch she looks for me and says," You ditched me. Why did you do that? Your my friend." I can't tell her I don't want to be friends anymore because she know who I like and she told me if I ever make her upset she'll tell everyone who I like. What should I do!!! HELP!!!
That's a sticky situation. If I were you I would slowly start making excuses about why you couldn't wait for her or be her partenter for a project.
For example: when it's time for lunch, stick around to talk to the teacher. Hopefully she will go ahead the cafeteria without you. Try to find ways to make it look like you aren't 'ditching' her, but you still can't hang around with her ALL THE TIME.
After a while of your not constantly being with her, she will probably find someone else to cling to, and leave you alone!

Hope That Helps!

Q: I got a new laptop today. A guy at my mom's work left it there when he moved, and he has been contacted for about a year to come get it. He didn't come back to get it and my mom's company has been sold, so she brought the laptop home for me! The only problem is that there is a password. We don't know the password.

Is there a way to completely erase everything on the laptop, password included?

Thank you.
You should be able to reinstall windows and start fresh...
If that doesn't work, I would take it to a computer fixer (ie: geek squad at Best Buy) and see if they can wipe the hard drive.

Good Luck!

Q: heeeyy well yeah my hair isn't exactly really wavy, but it has kinks and it's kinda puffy, you know? so anyway, i take showers at night, and once it air dries i straighten it so it won't be as bad the next morning and it looks fine, but then once i wake up it's all wavy again and i have to straighten it and it takes a while and it still doesnt even really get that straight. so i was wondering, if i put my hair into a low ponytail before i go to bed, would it be not as wavy when i wake up? i know there will be a ponytail bump, but that's deff easier to straighten than a bunch of waves. soo will it work?
thanks
My hair is wavy and I use the ponytail trick all the time! It works well for me.
Like you said, there will be a bump, but it is indeed easier to straighten than a whole head of wavy hair ;)

Q: I have been with my boyfriend for 3 years and he's a wonderful guy and to me he's the type of guys girls look for not him as a person but his qualities like he's kind, sweet, generous, will leave his friends just to be with me, and different things well i really do love him and he wants us to get married but my dad hates him but he will not tell me why and my boyfriend has no secrets from me or lies to me but my dads always brining up things like "i know he's a liar and a cheater but im not going to tell you what it is i know" what should i do to make my dad like him please help me i don't know what to do?
As a rule Dads hate the guys thier daughters date. I'm going to guess that your Dad doesn't know any dark secrets about your boyfriend. If you like him, and you don't think he's liar and cheater, then I say don't listen to dear old dad. He's probably just upset that he's losing his baby girl to another man ;)
I'm sure if your guy is as good of a guy as you say he is, your dad will come around in time.

Q: Well, my two best friends & I went & got our cartlidges pierced two weeks ago. Today I chanqed mine, I cleaned it & put a different one in. Then I felt a bump on the back of it. I`m wondering is it a assist ? my step mom had hers pierced & said that the second week hers hurt alot [mine doesnt] but there was a bump on the back & it was a assist & she had to let it close up. im scared it is, can you tell me if it is or what it could be ?
I don't think it's a cyst. It's possible the bump is just a little scar tissue (scar tissue will form any time you get a piercing, but it's more noticable on parts where the tissue is naturally thicker like your cartilage or your nose. It will go down and become less noticable when you've had the piercing for longer.) It could also be an infection. Make sure to keep it clean, and if it is a minor infection it should clear itself up.
If it doesn't go down in a couple weeks I would make an appointment to see your doctor and have them look at it just to make sure nothing is out of the ordinary.
Also - did the piercer tell you it was okay to change the jewelry so soon? It's been a long time since I've gotten a piercing, but two weeks sounds like a pretty short time to have the starter jewelry in.

Q: If I was 15 and pregnant and my boyfriends was 18 does my mom have say in abortion and adoption?
Abortion laws differ from state to state. I know your mom can't force you to have an abortion if you don't want to. Here's a the web address of a state-by-state guide of abortion laws (copy and paste into your browser):
http://www.coolnurse.com/abortion_laws.htm

Your mom also cannot legally make you give your baby up for adoption if you don't want to. Here's the address to state-by-state adoption laws:
http://laws.adoption.com/

Your mom can't take any legal action to stop you from keeping your baby.
I suggest have serious talks with both your mom and with your boyfriend (seperatly, and maybe one including all 3 of you) to discuss what you want, think would be best for both you and the baby.

Best of Luck!
