I got a new laptop today. A guy at my mom's work left it there when he moved, and he has been contacted for about a year to come get it. He didn't come back to get it and my mom's company has been sold, so she brought the laptop home for me! The only problem is that there is a password. We don't know the password.
Is there a way to completely erase everything on the laptop, password included?
Thank you.

There should be a logo for the computer brand, such as dell, gateway, toshiba, sony or whatever, as quickly as u can try pressing F12 on the keyboard. Then a dark screen with options will come on. Slect Boot Setup. That's where you can tap in and correct system security and such. If that doesn't work this guy must really have this joint wired. Call the commpany of the computer.

If that doesn't work, I would take it to a computer fixer (ie: geek squad at Best Buy) and see if they can wipe the hard drive.
