i took plan b last month, and my period was earlier than it usually is, and it was shorter too. is there any way that it might have messed with my next period? like will it be later....? or what? (link)
|
What you have experienced this month with your period is normal after having taken Plan B. There really is no way to tell if it will mess with your next period because since it was such a big shot of hormones at one time, no one can say how long it will take to run through your system. It shouldn't be anything too drastic though if there is any kind of difference.
|
How long did you wait before it spread? Because I think I've had this for maybe at least 3-5 days and im freaking out.. (link)
|
I waited that long. Mainly because I was afraid to tell my mom. The kidney infection showed up after i was already treated for the UTI. You really should see a doctor soon.

Is it true that If your on birth control your body reacts like its pregnant?
I heard that somewhere and I just want verification.
Sometimes After sex i get these weird feelings...and i was wondering if its that.
thanks alot! (link)

Birth control "tricks" your body into thinking it is pregnant. The high levels of hormones (mostly estrogen) in the pills make your body think this and because of this, you do not release an egg. So, because there is no egg being released because of the constant levels of hormones, there is no egg to become impregnated. Then, when you are on the sugar pills, your body "reacts" as if it is having a miscarriage, and you bleed, but it isnt a "real" period because no egg was there.
This is why some common side effects of the pills are the same as pregnancy: nausea, headaches, mood swings etc. It is possible what you feel is because of the pill, but if these feelings last past 3 months you should see your doctor.

Ok well, I recently had sex and I got my period the next day. But ever since I got my period, my vagina has been hurting REALLY bad (inside of it). And it burns when I pee. I'm REALLY scared! Anyone have an idea of what it might be? (link)
|
I am 98% sure you have a Urinary Tract Infection. You need to see a doctor right away before i spreads. I had one, with the same symptoms you are describing, and it spread to my kidneys becaues I waited too long and had a VERY painful kidney infection that caused me to go the ER. You will receive antibiotics and it will clear up in about a week.

How old should you be to start going down on boys?
When I was 12, I had a friend with benefits. We did everything, besides have clothes off sex. But, after we did that. I regretted it big time, and i havent done anything like that for 2 years. But now, i love my boyfriend and he wants to, you know do some stuff.
so, did you think I should?

12? You are still a child. 14 is just as ridiculous. I believe AT LEAST 18, so you are mature enough to deal with real issues that may come up where you DONT need your parents to fix it.
Whenever I read stories of kids this young is makes me so sad and I am only 20. I don't understand where kids get off thinking this is okay and that guys will like them. Please preserve your innocence. Don't try to grow up too fast, there is enough time for that later. Please.

i usually shave my pubic hair every so often but it hurts when i shave it.

does nair work?

Nair works, but you are advised NOT to use it on the pubic area.

my breasts have gotten a large amount of like
stretch marks on them
and i haven't even gained weight or anything
and i've been growing pretty steadily
why do i have this?
i hate it so muchhh! (link)
|
Like the person before me said, it is normal, because your breats do tend to grow at a faster rate than the rest of your body, the stretch marks occur.
Stretch marks are literal tears in the skin layers, deeper than just the top layer and no lotion or cream will make them go away, sorry to break it to you. People try to sell the creams because they know women become self concious about them and will buy things that claim to make them go away.

how old do you people think is an ok age to lose yor virginity? (link)
|
At LEAST 18, because by then you are knowledgeable enough to know the risks of sex, which isn't JUST pregnancy or STDs, but other dangerous things like UTIs and HPV.
|
i just started wearing bras. i have a doctors appointment tomorrow. so when i have to take off my clothes (and wear the gown) do i take off my bra?
thanks (link)
|
It depends, the doctor or the assistant that takes you to the room should tell you. If not, just ask. It depends on what you are going to the doctor for also. :)
|
should i shave down there? i did and i dont think i did it right. which way do i shave? like towards where the hair grows or against it. you know what i mean? like..can you just explain howww i should shave downt there? thanks SO much, you guys are too cool. =) (link)
|
Shave against the way the hair is growing first. Then shave the other way. This helps because all hair might not grow in the same direction, doing it both ways helps a lot. Make sure you use a good amount of shaving cream (preferably the kind for sensitive skin) so you don't get any red bumps. Shaving is totally up to you. There is no definate yes or no to that. :)

im tired of taking BC pills everyday to prevent pregnancy. Isnt there like a shot i can get from my doctor that will prevent me from getting pregnant for like 5 years no matter if i use protection or not? (link)
|
You get the shot every 3 months. My friend was on it though, and still ended up getting pregnant, because there is no way to tell how fast or slow it will run through someones body. A lot of my friends who are or were on it didn't like what it did to them. Messed them up pretty bad, a lot of spotting, weight gain, etc. But if you are really against the pills, then go for it. It reacts different with everyone. I just wanted to make sure you hear both sides. :) Good luck.
|
for some reason, it never fails, after sex i get a bad urinary tract infection. my mother is beginning to wonder why i keep getting these out of the blue. is there anything that can prevent this? (link)
|
Yes there is. As soon as possible after sex, go pee. This helps flush out any bacteria that may be around and/or trying to enter the urinary tract. After that, make sure you clean up. If you can't take a shower soon after, then try to clean yourself up as well as you can. You can use baby wipes, a washcloth, or whatever you can find. Basically staying and being clean especially after sex is important. Drinking cranberry juice also helps a lot.

i had sex last night(12/19) unprotected ..and im really scared that i may be pregnant. im supposed to get my period in 4 more days.. so if i get my period does that mean i am not pregnant? any other info would be great thanks (link)
|
If you are scared of getting pregnant then you shouldn't be having unprotected sex. Besides that, if you get it in a few days it doesn't necessarily mean you aren't pregnant. This is because sperm can live inside the vagina for up to 3 days, maybe more, and it would take time for the sperm to reach the egg. So it is possible that if you get your period that you are pregnant, but sort of unlikely. What you should do is take a pregnancy test after your period to check. Be careful next time so you don't have to put yourself through this again, I know how nerve racking it can be. (Don't forget if you worry too much now, your period can be delayed due to stress) so try not to worry too much until then.

My boyfriend wants to eat me out,
I'm not exactly scared, but I have
no idea how it feels!
Will it tickle, feel uncomfortable?
Basically, how will it feel?
thanks so much =] (link)
|
It may feel a bit uncomfortable at first, just because it's something foreign to you. But, it will feel good. Just try to relax, because worrying about it while it's happening will inhibit the pleasure of it. So relax! It will feel good, especially if he knows what he is doing. If something feels weird, let him know what DOES feel good to you. Having open lines of communication will help.

My girlfriend and I were having anal sex in a hot tub the other night, and I was fingering her at the same time throughout. I was touching my penis but I dont remember if I ever touched the tip. I never entered her vagina and she is a virgin. I was wondering if there is any chance that she could be pregnant? (link)
|
Not sure to be honest. I would assume the hot water would kill any traces of sperm. But I can't say positively. Just be more careful next time.

I'm a 17 year old female and I have recently started having sex with my boyfriend. And..well the first and second time we tried it [firstly we barely did it at all because it hurt so much] I felt as if I needed to use the bathroom. I'm not really sure. I have talked to my friend about it and she feels the same way when she does it.
As in, when "it" goes in, I feel an urge to use the bathroom. But the thing is I DONT need to use the bathroom.
I have also talked to other people about this and they say that my body is totally strange. Anyway, the questions are; will I feel this way for the rest of my life? Is this just because I am new at this whole sex thing and will it go away soon?
Also this peeing urge is really bothersome, and really uncomfortable for me. Is there an explanation for this? Or a way to stop this urge permanently without NOT having sex. =) thank you (link)

i heard some people saying that birth control pill starts to take its full effect after 7 days, but one of my friend told me whose mom is a nurse said that it takes a full month for it to take its effect. Do you know when exactly does it start to take its full effect? (link)
|
It's true other methods like the shot and the patch might be different BUT For the PILL, it takes a full month. Not only do I know this as a nursing student, but when I went on it my doctor told me the same thing.

so yesterday, me and my boyfriend had sex. we used a condom, but i think it ripped. how can you tell if it ripped? i still have the condom in my trash.

Filling a condom up with water isn't messy. Not if you do it right. Obviously you don't put the water on full blast or anything. Anywho, fill it up with water, dry it off, squeeze is softly to see if anything drips out.

my boyfriend and i have been together for a year and a half. when ever i preform oral sex on him i have him tell me before he ejaculates so i can stop and finish with my hand. i get grossed out by the thought of it in my mouth. this coming weekend he wants me not to stop but he says he'll wear a condom so my question is:
1. will it feel as good 2 him?
2. will it not go in my mouth?
and 3. would that work?
thanks so much! (link)
|
If he wears a condom it will not feel as good to him. I mean, just try using your finger in place of his penis, then put a latex glove over your finger and feel the difference yourself. If he does wear one, no sperm will get in your mouth, because the purpose of the condom is to catch the sperm during sex, so it will do the same for oral.
