Q: my two friends that i love have been together for 6 months feb. would have been 7. anyway he just asked her for a break they both still love each other and all but i was wondering what break really meant. Like will they be able to see other people or what are the terms to a break?

a break usually means: you're still dating but also dating other people so you're not official. and chances are with a break they'll get back together. he's probably just confused about things...take it from someone's who's been there and done that...everything will work out.

i had a best friend who did this too. the thing is she lied about everything for a year straight. and it sounds mean, but the only way i could get her to stop was to finally just catch her in a lie right as she said it and confront her about it very firmly. she got mad at me for it, but then she call me that night and told me she was sorry, she shouldn't have done it, she understood why we (my friend and i) were mad, and she'd never do it again. and as far as i know, she never did. i hope i could be of some help.

this is really hard because if you tell your bestfriend and he denies it when she confronts him, she may be mad at you. maybe if she heard him telling you this. maybe you could tell her and then call him and get him to say it. but i don't think you should date him. your friendship is way too precious to ruin over this guy. i hope i could be of help and good luck!

Q: well let me tell u the whole story well it all happened today. well i went to the theater with my friend and her family and stuff well we waited for her mom,dad,sister, and brother and when they got there he just kept looking at me. well when the movie finish we went outside and stuff and i notice he was still looking at me of course i was blushing and felt funny!! well me and my friend left with her aunt to my friends house well we got locked out and stuff so we waited for her mom and family to come well like an hour later they came and her brother kept looking at me and yea i thought he was hot.well they were cleaning thier house and every time he passed thru my friends room he always look and stuff well we went to a gig (a party for rockers)well we got there and me and him started talking to each other and then my friend went out to hear the band and me and him just sat and talk thats when he took out a bottle cap saying if it lands heads we are just friends but if it land tail we have to make out i was cool with it and we made out alot and i ask him was he just making out with me for fun or because he liked me and he said noo am no doing it for fun and i dont understud what he said but i think he said i like you or i love you and after he said that he kiss me in the cheack and we just started talking again and we tried to hold hands but we didn't want any body to see us we did hold hands but just for a while. now i really like this guy but am not sure if i should tell my friend?? And i dont know if i should start a real rlationship with him??

tell your friend. if she's okay with it, go for him! but if she's not, then don't, because it may ruin your friendship. and there is nothing wrong with starting a real relationship with him, but whatevever you do, never put your friend in the middle in u do start a relationship with him. like, don't fuss about him to her, or tell her to talk to him about something, or if you're arguing with him, don't tell her about it. i hope i could be of help!

Q: My old bff spread rumors that i was cutting myself and had social problems when i was out of school one week beacause i had mono. you need to let your friend know how you feel. you and your friend need to talk to her, or if it's easier write her a note of how you feel. tell her that you're hurting that she doesn't act like you and your friend exist in public. good luck!

Q: 17-f so i have this really good friend...a guy...and we've been friends for three years. I love spending time with him because hes just about the funniest person i know. don't tell him straight out unless he tells you himself that he likes you. but how you can tell him without actually saying it: just talk about a guy you like, and say something like "gosh, i would really like to date him. there is no one else i would rather be with" or something you know, just go on about how great he is and how you wanna be with him(the other guy). if he does tell you straight out, then just say "i'm really sorry, you are a great friend, and i don't wanna lose you, but i just feel like that's the only thing we can be." i hope i was a help!

it's okay to be stubborn in this situation because you have nothing to be sorry for! talk to your friend and ask her what she thinks you did, because you didn't realize you had done anything wrong. tell her that it really hurt you that she was talking about you for no reason. and if she's like this all the time, i wouldn't recommend hanging around her much longer. PMS is no excuse for treating a friend badly.

Q: i'm 17 years old. i have been best friends with my friend for about 3 1/2 years. maybe you should give her a chance to prove to you whether she'll change or not. then if she doesn't, just stay as close to her as possible, unless you can't stand it. if you have to get away from her, then if you all are really meant to be best friends, she'll come back.

Q: My best friend in 5th-8th grade, Charles promised me that he would go to our Freshmen dance no matter what! And now that it's ninth grade, it's in like 2 months. as long as you all aren't dating, i think it would be all right if he dances with her. if you all were dating, i might see a problem. however, i'm not sure how good of a friend Amanda is if she goes and asks him after she knew you were going with him. Q: My friend and i have been friends for about a yr. I dont know if shes always been like this but shes gotten really really boring. I was talking about it to my other friend, and she agreed and said that she cant continue a conversation. Also..she hates *all* of my other friends and its annoying me. At the beggining of the school yr we were really good friends but lately shes gotten on my last nerve. Theres this one dude i like and he doesnt like me back and shes all mean about it and says..well ur mean to him and you annoy him. Shes SO friggin negative about everything and i dont know what to do, i dont want to stop being her friend completely...i just need a lot of space from her. I have other friends too and when im with them she comes up and just stands there. When i was walking with a guy she ran up to me and started walking along. She always comes out at break to see me. Its ANNOYING and i feel like i have no space. I dont know what to do or what i should say.
Anyways, the point of that whole explaination was that today at lunch i didnt want to sit in a certain spot cause the guy i like/d was there..so i walked away and she was all frustrated and like acting annoyed so i said ok if you wanna go to that spot then go , i'll just go find something else to do and i left..and i havnt seen her since then.
So..what should i do? im sorry if that was long but thats what happened.

explain to her, that you need some space and time to yourself in a nice way. and for the boring part, try yourself to spice up her life a little bit, like find things in common, like music. listen to cds together or find a movie you both enjoy. or find a boy that she thinks is cute and then maybe she'll be caught up in him and won't be so boring anyway. also, try talking to her about her interrupting when you're with friends, tell her that it makes her seem kind of rude, and if you dont mind when she comes along except that she just stands there: just ask her when she comes along to try to be social in the conversation.

Q: I've been best friends with a girl named Kaitlin for over 11 years now and we're both 16 (I'm a girl too btw). Lately she's been so consumed with her social status that she doesn't even talk to me or even look at me anymore because I'm not "cool enough". We both play on the volleyball team and she really isn't a very good player, but she gets really jealous because I always play all the time and I got moved up to varsity this year while she didn't. i know revenge is supposed to be sweet, but she will get hers, dont worry! if other people dont like you it's probably because she's telling lies on you. she is just jealous of you. try to be a little bit more social (even though i know it's hard), and you'll make better friends. but whatever you do, don't let her know she's getting to you, it'll just make her happy!

the first thing you should do is talk to your friend. ask her if you did something wrong, and if she says nothing, then ask her why she always seems mad at you. then explain to her that she shouldnt take angry feelings out on you when you did nothing wrong, but tell her you can help her by talking with her when she does get angry.
