I'm only a quarter Italian. I know that for sure. I'm also a bit Irish, Dutch, German, etc.
But Italians have that oily, olive colored skin, right? That's what I've heard.
My skin doesn't look olive, to ME anyways. And I hardly ever breakout. If I do, it's not TOO noticeable, but I do have occassional problems.
But when I start off my day, my skin doesn't feel oily. It usually looks almost chapped in some places. But throughout the day, that changes. I've actually had a few guys say that my skin looks oily-- once today.
But when I use a blotting sheet, it's not like the whole thing is soaked.
I just don't know what to do and I'm pretty annoyed. Pleae help! :[ (link)

just use the blotting sheet anyways, even if you can't see its removing some oil. you could try using a mineral power foundation to get rid of some of the shine. and use a gentle foaming cleanser for normal skin, that should also reduce oil. don't overdo it with cleaning products, because that can dry your skin out and cause breakouts.

I tend to get addicted to things easily.. like a lot of times i eat sugar, just cause its sweet, and theres nothing else that great to eat at home. i mean we have lots of healthy foods, but sometimes i just want some like fatty snack, and sugar's the closest thing. well i want to stop doing it for the fear of getting diabetes.. i mean im normal weight, but somedays i have from up to 1 spoon of sugar to like 10 spoons in 1 day. especially days with no school. when i have school i usually sprinkle sugar on my corn flakes (they taste horrible otherwise. we used to have honey bunches of oats where i didnt do that but my mom doesnt buy it anymore). so how can i stop doing this? i hate it and want to take the steps to stop. also other addictions.. like i know its really bad but sometimes at stores i really want candy/gum so i find a way to steal it.. or like little accesories at stores. once i even stole a necklace from a store for 40 dollars! (most expensive thing ive ever took). ive never been caught.. and i started doing it this summer when i stole a bracelet from a forever21.. and i even did it today and stole gum from some random store. its really sinful too since im a christian.. and unfortunately i dont get the chance to go to church often.. but sometimes i just dont have enough money, so its like.. i act before i really think things through. i mean i know its bad.. but i just want it.. its like i know that i probably wont get caught especially for things like candy, so i do it and nobody finds out. and at home im doing a fundraiser so i can go on this 5,000 dollar trip this summer, and im selling candy. i just already ate 1 of the candy bars.. i dont want to go on one of my binges (ive already finished that whole pack of gum from before btw) with the candy bars and also gum i'll be selling at school to raise money, and eat them all. i wanna make a profit. how can i banish these desires? as well as the computer.. like i can procastinate all day and get none of my work done. and im smart, my teachers tell me, i know i am.. but i just get caught up with everything, always thinking i can just do it later, later. even things i plan to do in the morning, i still manage to procastinate. and when im trying to get it done in school, i procastinate. so i wanna get it off from the source; when i get home from school. how can i also regulate the time i spend doing free stuff and homework, cause i tend to get distracted easily and lose track of time? thanks a LOT your a LIFE SAVER! and im sorry this was so long!! first- sugar is not a known addictive, there is nothing in it like nicotine or drugs that is clinically proven to make you wanting more. sometimes half the battle is convincing yourself that its not an addiction, its a choice YOU make to eat it, and you are blaming it on something psychological. remember- in this case, your "addiction" is in your control. it's more of like a bad habit.
so if you became addicted to drugs/alcohol it probably wouldn't be related to the 'addictions' you are experiencing now. not to say you should go do them, but alcoholism is usually hereditary, and drugs are just naturally addictive because of the chemicals they are made of.
instead of straight sugar which is like empty calories (and can mess up your pancreas and cause diabetes!!), go grocery shopping with your mom to get stuff you will eat. honey bunches of oats are better for you than cornflakes with straight sugar. other cereals that are sweet (but kinda healthy) are: newman's own w/ macademia nuts, peanutbutter puffins (usually in organic section), honey nut cheerios, frosted mini wheats. at least those have carbs in them so you are fuller and won't crave more food.
you could also try: making smoothies (just look for recipes online, like strawberry-banana, or blueberry, or whatever...), granola bars (like kudos or chewy or luna that taste good), fruits like strawberrys, mangos, raspberries, watermelons, cantuloupe, honeydew melon, etc.
stay busy for other things: if your not around sugar as much, you won't be tempted by it... so instead focus your addictions on like sports, clubs, community service, friends... if you get involved in a lot of stuff, it forces you to get organized because you only have an allotted time slot to complete each task. for example, you go to school til 3, and then have practice/comm. serv./whatever from 5-9. then your favorite show is on at 10 or something. you know you only have the hours between 3-5 and 9-10 to do homework, that should force you to stay on track. you could also make a daily checklist of things you have to get done.
keep a food diary and limit yourself to only so many "sweets" a day. i would say 1-2.
stealing= not a good idea. i did that like a few times to get away with it/just cuz i was bored with my friends and it was so dumb. like the worst decision i ever made. you usually take stuff you don't really even want in the long run and its such a waste. plus you can get into the idea that you never have to pay for anything and it will get worse. my best friend got caught stealing a 5 dollar pair of earrings she didnt even like that much- she got fined 1,000 and banned from the mall for 2 years. (keep in mind: this is an honor student, varsity athlete, with NO criminal record). when people found out about this her reputation was never the same with her friends or her parents....
so whatever you have to do to stop DO IT. people will look down on you for it, and you know that it's wrong. be lucky that you didn't get caught but know that there is always the chance. they have undercover people in malls to make sure you don't steal- they dress like normal shoppers and then can arrest you (EVEN if its your first time getting caught).
to stop you could think about all the money you are taking from a company... people who make the things you steal already get low enough wages- and with all the shoplifting they get paid even less. think of all the less fortunate people than you who work hard to buy what you just stole, even though you could have easily bought it. go shopping only with someone who you know wouldn't approve of this habit, to keep you from doing it.

so i got my braces off 2 weeks ago and got my retainers today.. ortho said to wear them for 24 hours a day but if i just wear them like 18 hrs/ a day would it be really bad... especially since they didnt move at all during the first two weeks after i got my braces off and had no retainers (my ortho said they hadn't oved a bit because my retainers fit perfectly not even a little tight) (link)

I have very pale skin, since my grandmother is from Ireland on my mom's side and my grandmother on my dad's side is from France, where it is not very sunny, so pale skin soaks up Vitamin D in the barest sliver of sun. The issue is, even though teasing of my skin has stopped about 2 years ago (in 6th grade when people finally grew up), whenever I express my desire to be a fashion model or a movie star, I get stares and comments that I could never be a model because I am too pale. I know I am pale. I am not oblivious to the fact that my skin is as fair as it can be for a person who is not albino. I do not tan (I burn), and frown upon tanning for fear of skin cancer. These remarks depress me because I think that my not-so-supportive friends don't recognize any of the aspects of the industry I dream of entering someday. I know that I am not the California porn star with large breasts or tan skin or blond hair, but I am me, and I know that someone is going to like what they see when they look at me. How do I cope with the put-downs that my friends give me? I know they think that they are giving me what they think people are going to think of me, but I know that they don't actually know. just stay confident with yourself. tons of models are pale, thats actually the look they are going for these days (because you can give a pale person a temproary fake tan, but you can't make a tan person pale...). just look at america's next top model, most of the white girls are pale! i even heard on the news, this one girl got signed for modelling but shes like not allowed to go out into the sun without tons of spf because the will end the contract if she gets tan. so yeah, i'm sure you could model. your friends obviosuly arenn't into the whole high fashion thing if they think otehrwise..

When getting braces do they hurt when they are putting them on or does it only hurt after they are done putting them on? Also would they pull any teeth or would they be able to fix anything teeth that is out of place depending on how far back it is? (link)

Ok...so i just started tanning two days ago. I started out (since it was my first time) with 5 minutes. Yesterday, the lady moved it up to 6 minutes. Today, the lady moved it up to 8 minutes and I got a pretty bad burn on my back and sides. and under my breasts. Its driving me crazy and hurts and everything but I have another tanning appointment for tomorrow because i have to get my base tan. If i tell my mom that I got burned, I know she wont let me go back ever again because it took me a year to convince her to let me go in the first place. I dont know what to do because I spent over a hundred bucks all together on the tanning package and lotions and everything and I really want to get a tan but I know i cant go back
there tomorrow and hop in the tanning bed with this burn because obviously it will only get worse. Does anyone have any advice? (link)

usually you can space out packages so that you can take a few days off to heal your burn and not get screwed on price. but if you have to go just wear really really high spf suncreen and clothes (like maybe a sports bra?) where you got burned to protect those areas. you could just tell your mom that you are going tanning and not go? or just go in the room and not tan....

Me and a few of my friends tried getting drunk last week but it didnt quite work out.
Me and my friend Kendra just couldnt drink the beer or else we felt kinda sick. Why cant we take it? And we are light weights for sure but how much would it take for us to get drunk?
My other friend that was with us had a totally different problem she was drinking alot she just wasnt getting drunk at all. I didnt understand why she wasnt getting drunk either. (link)

you were probably feeling sick because it was your first time drinking and all so you were getting used to it... you just have to like keep trying and maybe try new thingsss like liquor/wine coolers. likee um smirnoff ice/tea/mikes hard/parrot bay are good. and i don't know your weight and stuff so i'm not sure how much it would take you to get drunk, but probably like 3-5 shots it being your frist time and all..... and your other friend- if she waited a long time between drinks but still rank alot she probably wouldnt feel drunk. you kinda have to drink like 3-5 shots innn about 2 hours to get drunk your first time assume your average body size. if you're really skinny it would take less. buttt yeah liquor gets you drunker quicker lol

try to sleep it off, or take a shower alternating hot/cold water to wake you up, or drink something caffienated... take aspirin, and eat like celery or plain raw veggies to ward off the nausea. hope this helps?

so i get up at 6:30 and go 2 bed at about 10
soooo i read that if i sleep 2 long it's gonna be harder 2 wake up , cause another person postet a question like this. but i am always so tired in the morning it's really hard 2 get up although i get enough sleep? and i tried 2 sleep more , i went 2 bed at about 8:30 and i got like 11 hours of sleep and i felt SO much better in the morning and it wasn't hard 2 get up at all. so i don't really get it , isn't that way 2 much sleep?
and i don't wanna go 2 bed that early every day. what can i do 2 be less tired cause i am SOOO tired all the time. i'm 14/f by the way (link)

hey, i answered that question before and USUALLY it is harder for people to get up if they sleep a lot longer than they usually do. however, if you feel better and its easier to get up, there is no harm in sleeping to more hours. its all about how you personally feel.

i would say you had your period. the first day is usually very light and then the 2/3 days are much heavier. it should last about a week. if you broke your hymen there would not be that much blood and it would have stopped bleeding by now. i was 15 when i got mine and i am very athletic/tiny so it's normal to get it now. hope i helped.

you should probably be getting 7-8 hours of sleep at least, 9 if you want to feel especially good. this would put you to bed at around 9:30-11:30 pm. if you sleep more than around 9.5-10 hours, your body takes longer to wake up and yes, you will feel tired for longer. hope this helps.

Okay, well im 14/f and i have a size 36D boobs (im a little on the chubby side) but i dont think that matters. well, my boobs sort of sag a little and my nipple (the brown ring) is really really big. like of course ive seen my friends becuase were girls or whatever and theres arent nearly as big but they also have smaller boobs. ive watched like funny movies where u get glimses of girls boobs and it doesnt look like theres is that big either...is there like anyway i can get it smaller....if i lose weight will it get smaller with my cup size...waht do i do cuz its really weird and ugly and how do i get rid of the saggyness?

since boobs are made of fatty tissue then yes, if you lose weight, you will lose weight everywhere. i would reccomend cardio (running/jumpingrope/etc) for losing weight. also on most machines in the gym there is a 'fat burn' setting which can help you. you probably just need a more supportive bra in terms of the saggieness. umm and your nipples might seem big simply because your breast isn't done growing yet. hope i helped.

you can't die unless you're really tiny (really short or really skinny)... you might get stomach bleeding though or more seriously an ulcer.. you probably won't throw up either. just don't do it again.

yeah, thats the unfortunate side effect. it can last up to three days (sucky) and there's basically nothing you can do except drink lots of water and sleep. hope you feel better :) also next time before you drink, make sure to eat something and drink a lot of water as you're drinking... this reduces hangovers. anddd lighter colored alcohols NOT mixed with sugary liquids (soda) will give you less of a hangover too.

I hadd horrrible acne at the beginging of this year from stress and this pill i was put on, and now i have none at all but a lot of scars from it.. is there any way or any things that people have found to work to help get rid of thiss? besides going to the dermotoligistt

i would say its the new hpv shot, which prevents girls from getting the human papaloma virus (that commericial on tv, "tell someone" ... ring a bell) i'm pretty sure it goes into your upper arm and it hurts a little afterward, like a tetnus shot... but yeah it prevents certain types of a virus that can lead to cancer, so what would you rather have.. a life-threatening illness, or a shot? i think i know what i would go for.. lol
