Q: hi 14f
my period has been lasting for almost 2 weeks now
is that normal??
has that ever happened to you?
also it has also only been coming during the night time for the past few days!
thank you
no thats normal, You need to see a doctor, you could have an infection or something.

Q: About 3 weeks ago i noticed a spot ( not a mole ) on my nose, on my left nostril its not bumpy or anything its just a tannish circle its small what is it? does it have anything to do with the sun or something?

14/f
Yeah, its probably a freckle. You said its bigger than any freckle you've seen but it doesn't mean its not. Or it could be a mole but usually those are dark. If its dark it could be a mole. If it hurts or anything go to the doctor.

Freckles are usually caused by exposure to the sun, if you want to prevent them make sure to put on sunscreen and reapply every couple of hours. So if you were spending some time outside, yes, a freckle can pop up.

Q: Hey. Well, I'm 13/f, and I weigh I think like 97 lbs, and I'm 5'1. I have a lot of extra weight on my stomach, butt, legs, and arms. I really would like to lose a lot of my weight by August, I'd like to be either 85-87 pounds, becuase I know I'm tall, but I want to be a flyer this year on my cheerleading squad, because I was 2 years ago, then I was a base, and I really want to fly again. I want to be so skinny, that I can fly, regardless of my height. Please help with any tips of exercise that will make me skinnier. Please help? I rate :].
You don't need to lose weight, trust me, since I'm also 13 and the same size as you. you are NOT fat. at ALL! I think all you need is to tone. So you have to do things like crunches to tone and that just tightens everything up. Just believe me when I say you don't need to lose weight because if you do you will be VERY unhealthy!

Q: ok i just turned 13, and i have not gotten my period yet. i have some pads and today i was curious so i tried one on. well it didn't fit right it seemed a little too big. but i got the smallest size. well i tried putting on using the directions (i'm using always). well i'm still using hanes girls and i put it on it feels uncomfortable. but then again, its my first time wearing a pad. so please tell me if its supposed to feel that weird, and also tell me anything i need to know about my period kuz i live with my dad, AND I CANT TELL ANYONE ELSE!
thank you
Well it takes a while to get used to and I have to say I am never comfortable in pads but I rather those then tampons. Its okay, don't worry. Anything you need to know about your period? Count 28 days from the first day of the one you last had and remember the date. Then a few days earlier before you might get it again, start wearing pads in case you get it early so it doesn't leak or anything. :)

Q: well on may 31, 2006 i got my first period that lasted for 2 days, then i never got it again, and it's been like what-- almost 11 months? is this normal?
I did'nt get mine until 4 months after the first one but 11 months definatly seems long so I think that it might have just been a false alarm. 2 days is pretty short also. Although it could have been the real thing. I dont' want to say go to the docter because its probably no big deal, just keep waiting. :)

Q: my skin gets irritated really easily! Like I was blow drying my banks and thne i was working on every where else and when I was done I tied my hair up and my whole for head was red!

And I ate like all these stuff that's good for your skin for my student card and my face was clear and every thing and thne right nefore my picture got tooken, in the mirror I could see a lil red area beside my mouth!

Anything I can do?
Okay. Well, if your skin is irritated easily, then some cleansers and skin products might irritate it more. You also said no makeup but makeup probably wouldn't even work in this case. Since I'm not a skin expert what I can tell you is to ask your mom to see a dermatologist for it. They are experts on this kind of thing (obviously) they most likely will have something to help! Another advice I can say is don't keep switching skin cleansers or anything when you have acne because that will irritate your skin big time! It wasn't the best advice but I gave it a shot :) Hope I helped

Q: why does guys hair grow faster and longer than girls hair does?
The person below me is right, they get their hair trimmed more so thats why it grows faster. However, there isn't really much of a difference if they trimmed their hair ever 4 to 6 weeks. A person's hair on average grows a half of an inch each month.

Q: yikes
i have everything i need
i got vd
i have boobs
and i have hips
and i have hair DOWN THERE ,lol
but yeah
whats wrong with me
will i get it soon
i get vd a lottttt
help
Theres no rush at all to get it. Some people get it when they are 10, some people get when they are 13 or 14, and some even get it when they are 16 or 17. You shouldn't have to worry about it because it will come soon, maybe even this year or next year.

Q: if you wear your hair in a ponytail but you move the position of your ponytail every day or every other day will your hair grow?
It doesn't affect how fast your hair grows. However eating healthy does. Make sure to wash your hair often and to get it trimmed ever 4-6 weeks to get rid of split ends, because those are what is causing your hair to grow slower. Getting them removed will help your hair grow faster. :) Also drink a lot of water. Hope I helped.

Q: how often should i trim my hair? thanks
You should trim your hair about every 4-6 weeks to get rid of split ends and stuff. :) Hope I helped

Q: My skin is very sensitive. There are people paler than me and you can't see their veins. When it gets cold, mine are everywhere. Which brings up some questions.

What will make my skin a solid color and not blotchy? I do not want something for the exterior more like suggestions other than drinking water and such.

How is it that people can shave without getting razor burn?

The corners of my nose are constantly peeling even when moistened. Any solution?

Thank you for those who take the time to respond.
Hey.. I know I am not exactly answering your questions, so I would find it rather generous if you rate me even a 2. But if your skin is sensitive and your nose is peeling while moistened, you should see your dermatologist-- I'm sure they have a solution for that. As for a solid color for skin, you can try foundation since thats meant to even out the color on your face. And for the rest of your body I'd use a self tanner, I'd recommend Jergens Natural Glow Daily Moisturizer. Sorry I wasn't much I help, and good luck with your skin. I hope everything works out

Q: what is cervical cancer? because its manditory for me to get a shot for it and my mom doesnt want me to have it so what is it?
Cervical cancer is cancer in the cervix. I actually got that shot. Its not bad. You really should definately get the shot because you will appreciate it later in life. The shot is actually for HPV (huma n papillomavirus) which is an sexually transmitted disease, and HPV can cause cervical cancer. I believe you need 3 shots for it, the second one after 2 months and the third 4 months after the second. The shot is given at a doctors office.

They give you the shot in your upper arm. It doesn't matter which arm either. If I recall they do your stronger arm.

Q: is it suppose to be blue/purple-ishy colored?
thanks. :]
Not normal at all you definatly need to see a docter, you could have an infection or something even serious.

Q: I feel really weird asking this lol but I need help. See I never know exactly when I'm going to get my period, but I briefly know around which time it comes. I was wondering, if it was okay to put a tampon in when you think it's coming soon, but you don't have your period. I dont want to get that toxic shock syndrome or anything like that, so if anyone could help me out that would be great =]
Its ok, just make sure to change it frequently so that you dont get toxic shock syndrome :) Hope I helped

Q: I have a ton of freckles on my face and all over my body. There not the cute little ones that cover your face, they are farly big random ones that on my face. I really wanna get rid of them, and i keep getting more its really anyoing. I know use sunscreen and stuff to prevent from getting them but they still come. Is there any way that will help get rid of them??? thanks
Hey. I know you don't want to hear this but unfortunatley you cannot get rid of them.

Your sunblock might not be strong enough. Make sure its atleast SPF 30.

Here are some other tips from tanning while preventing freckles--
Source: http://www.dry-skin-care-guide.com/outdoor-tanning-tips.html
1) Have the necessary products like sunscreen and suntan lotion that can help boost your tan while also guarding against your skin from being dehydrated. Dehydrated skin can easily lead to dry, wrinkled skin...

2) Make sure your outdoor tanning products contain broad spectrum protection and a nonacnegenic element to keep your pores clear. (Some pores may be enlarged in the process of sun tanning.)

3) Remember that in outdoor tanning you cannot control the UV intensity of the sunlight, so plan appropriately to take breaks and reapply protective lotion.

4) The sun is strongest between 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM, which produces intense rays especially during the hot summer months. Avoid such timings outdoor as far as possible.

5) Understand that medications such as prescription acne medications or birth control pills can affect your outdoor tanning results due to body sensitivity....hence, you may want to opt for self tanners, salon tanning treatments or otherwise request a switch of medications from your physicians.

Q: 13/f
lately my breasts have been so sore.
whether im in the shower or wearing a bra, they hurt really bad.
and its almost like i can feel them stretching when im not wearing a bra.
i need help?
is this normal.
btw i wear a 34c-d.
thanks a ton.
There are two reasons they could be hurting - either they are growing or your period is on your way. If you are getting any of these other symptome also, you are probably about to get a period.

-Feeling bloated and heavy.
-Experiencing cramping around lower abdomen, in the legs or sometimes in the lower back.
-Getting more pimples than usual.
-Feeling tense, irritable, sensitive, emotional, tired.
-Breast tenderness.

Q: i'm a 16 year old paranoid female. a couple of days ago a tiny bump (the size of a zit) appeared on my right breast. i didn't think much of it, but now there are a five on my left breast as well. they definitely aren't zits. they're harder and are all on my areolas. they don't hurt to the touch, but i have no idea what they could be. i'm scared, but i don't want to blow it out of proportion if it's nothing big. somebody help, please. ): thank you.
Those should not be there, you should see a doctor. I hope everythings okay, and good luck

Q: hey this is gross but im a female 14 and I have like this pimple/boil on my crotch near the vagina but I'm thinking it's a boil because it's not nard but I don't think it's pussy but i'm scared to pop it and I'm not sure of its something bad and I dont want a doctor to see it either. I've never nad any sexual things going on so..help!
Wait about a week and see if it goes away. Sometimes you can get pimples but do not pop them. If its not gone in about a week I'm afraid you should definatly see a docter.

Q: im going to florida
and if i have my period then..
i dont wear tampons, ive tryed amillion times to put on in. never works, so i wear pads. But can i swim in a pool with my period?
because doesnt it like stop it

Okay blood will not stop in the water, but you won't realize it in the pool so do not worry about it. You can swim in a pool with your period, it will not cause any problems.
