about

Greetings,

I'm here and will attempt to answer questions that relate to either your SPIRITUALITY or your HEALTH. I consider myself to be a very spiritual human being, not religious as I don't follow an organized religion's dogma.
My heart is my good book and I attempt to live life from that point of view. I have lived long enough to have gained some wisdom and feel I could have something worthwhile to share.
I've used herbs and natural supplements and followed a healthy lifestyle since the early 90's, in fact it was herbs and herbal supplements and some lifestyle changes that saved my life.
As there have been some pretty wonderful people that have helped me along my life's journey, it's simply my turn to give back and if I can help someone here, I'm glad to do that. Hope to hear from you with your questions and if I help just one other person during my experience here, it will have been worth it. Have a very Happy&Health new year everyone, you all deserve it!

advice

I was thinking of taking estrogen pills to help make my figure more womanly. Im 22 and I still dont have breasts and curves like I should. Do you think it's a good idea?

NO, NO, NO

Why would you wish to take a beautiful creation, your body, and try to change/alter it? How silly.... think of yourself as a beautiful human being, a wondrous female speciman.

Would you rather have big breasts and have problems with the weight bearing down on your shoulders all the time.... many beautiful women have little or no breasts... take into consideration it's the whole body that counts and more than it, it's your INNER beauty that counts.

Realize all the blessings you already have and let nature take its course....afterall, all of us were created by a pretty awesome source and that source doesn't make mistakes!!!! Never ever.... perhaps a few curves could be had by toning and shaping your skeletal muscles... there are some fine books on the subject and you can reshape and tone, I've done it with my rearend.... nice and round now!

Good luck and I didn't mean to come down on you, but let nature be, I'm sure what you have and how you are will one day really really satisfy and please a great guy! If not already, ha!

I just started working out last week , and every time after i work out, I have these semi-bad headahces that usually last the rest of the night. Does anyone know what this could be??

Well, yes water intake is important.... also tension in blood vessels and passages could be an issue.... try relaxing, stretching some before the strenuous workout... also, with this workout routine, if you've been sedentary, you might be kickin' loose some toxins...so be sure to drink plenty of water....look at what you eat, perhaps you body is trying to go along with the workout, but junk food isn't now the right/correct fuel for the ole tank!

Also.... some headaches can come for poor digestion.... don't eat on the run, don't eat before a workout and you should have a bowel movement for every meal that goes into your body!!! Sorry to be so blunt.... but life is life.... good luck I hope this helps a little, I'm no expert at all... just had some thoughts on the issue... have a great life!

so i just started shaveing "down there" and it never comes out like a good clean shave is there anything i could do to make it softer skin and get all the hair?

I use to do it.... I always used a straight edge razor of my dad's, they shave closer to the skin, but be very very very careful and use some good suds...or shaving cream.... not so much that you make a horrible mess... but it lasts longer than a shave with other types of devices....guaranteed.... good luck!

I weigh 146 lbs. and would like to get down to 110 lbs. in about 3 months time. I am interested in trying the South Beach Diet and would like to know if anyone has any information regarding if it really works or not. Has anyone actually tried it before?? I was thinking about joining online at www.southbeachdiet.com but I do not want to waste my time and money if it does not truly work. Thank you very much.

Hi, I don't know a thing abot the SB diet... but I don't believe diets are a good thing. People seem to 'lose' and regain! A vicious cycle that takes your time energy and focus away from the real issue.

I strongly suggest looking at you and your lifestyle. Do you get enough exercise???? This is one key to enjoying good health and balance.
Get your heart rate up...... walking fast, especially uphill is really good.... this is what I do. Swimming would be good because it doesn't sprane tendons or muscles but I can't do the chlorine. Speed walking or light jogging(only with the right/good shoes and stretching prior to doing it)

Also, the second and very important key is nutritional intake. We are definitely what we eat and don't eliminate.

Look at what you consume in an average day! Any white flour(most wheat flour is mostly white and is 'wallpaper past')? Breads, muffins, cookies, sphagetti, pasta, pastries, cakes, pancakes, waffles, cereals. These put weight on a person faster than anything unless you have the thyroid to die for like my brother does.

Also dairy products clog the liver and don't make the kidneys very happy either. And it build mucuous in your mucous membranes.

And soda pop....hmmmm..not good either, especially the diet ones! Drinking the diet ones kills brain cells our body NEVER repairs! But that doesn't directly help with weight balance, but is vital to know about.

So..... it's ALL about getting the right amount of exercise and eating right. You CANNOT gain weight on steamed veggies and rice!!! For one example!l

Wisely look at your lifestyle and what you eat in a day's time. I believe you'll see better that you could make changes/adjustments and will in a short time, greatly benefit from your 'higher and better choices!

Hope this helps you, it was my intention to inform and support not make you feel bad or less of yourself. It's just that I've been where you are and I have found my way out of that dysfunctional way of being... and so can YOU!

I wish you well!

I Have been feeling depressed for almost a year now, and I have read nearly all the articles posted about depression, but none of them really help me. I took the first step of talking to a trusted adult, who was one of my former teachers. She tried to help me by calling my mom and referring me to different counselors. But this made my mom very angry. My mom refuses to let me see a counselor, and she is not allowing me to have contact with my teacher either. I don't understand why, but I think it's because my mom feels like I am placing blame on her for my issues. Now I feel so alone because I have no one to talk to. I want to call my teacher, but my mom would be very angry if she found out. What else is there left for me to do if counseling is not an option? I fear I will keep getting more and more depressed like I have been. Please respond to my question, I really need your help!

First, sometimes depression can be caused by what we eat.... eliminate soda pop, esp diet ones.... eliminate sugars and lots of flour products*(bread, pasta etc)..... and try to get enough sleep and exercise....eat veggies and fruits.... and try to get plenty of fresh air.... also give yourself quiet time for meditation or quiet baths or showers.... get away from loud noises and take walks and just do nothing.... I use to suffer from depression and when I cleaned up my diet it helped alot, I hope this helps.... don't give up.... if you access to a natural food store/health food store.... call them or go in and talk to them... there are some natural products on the market(especially some Chinese formulas)that actually help with depression....honest, I was married to a working herbalist and he saved my life several years ago...... I can give you his 800 phone number if you wish.... if you haven't any other resource closer to you.

I wake up in the middle of the night or around like 3 am usually and get up and just drink so much. Like this morning, for instance, I remember getting up and drinking two cans of coke a cola and then a glass of chocolate milk and then just going right back to sleep. I usually do this very fastly. It seems like i cant control it, i just get up and do it without thinking. But i dont even wake up when i need to use the potty!!

Is this/Am I Normal?
What should I Do?

First drinking a cola, any kind is not healthy. There is loads of caffeine in them and diet ones kill brain cells your body can't/doesn't replace or rebuild. Milk is bad also.... doing any kind of dairy products is bad for your health as it literally leeches the calcium out of your bones, that why, the USA where the most dairy is consumed has the highest rate of osteoperosis in the world! If you wish to drink something, what's wrong with plain ole water or some chammomile tea, which helps one go to sleep safely as it's not bad for your health! You're young and you would be wise to begin developing good habits now, that take into consideration the health and well-being of your body. Afterall, your body has to get you through the rest of your life.... do it in style and with a great, healthy and happy body!

Anyone know a good way to stop a habbit of biting my nails? I keep biting them w/out realizing it for a few minutes. My family keeps getting mad at for it. It's driving me crazy! Plese help. I'll rate high for god advice. Thanks!

Hi.... my daughter Reba use to bite her fingernails and what helped her break herself of the habit was this. I found a product in a local healthfood store... can't remember the name now as it's been over 30 years ago and I'm sure there are several products out there by now.... but it was like a fingernail polish she would apply that tasted really horrible, so she soon didn't put her fingertips or fingernails in or near her mouth any longer. I'm sure you can find such a product locally.... if you ask around and I know it worked for Reba really well and once in awhile she still talks about it! And now she has really nice nails and works as a parlegal and manages a legal office in Portland Oregon! Good luck!

Okay .... well a while ago i cut myself on the top of my wrist and now i have thid huge scar on my wrist.. what can i do to get rid of this scar?!?!?! Give me the BEST one you have that i can buy at like CVS becayuse i will have to get the stuff on my own

I don't know how old your scar is.... but if it were me, I'd get some vitamin e capsules and squeeze the liquid out on it. I don't know where you live, but if there might be a natural foods store or an herb store(I live on the Oregon coast in a very small town and am very fortunate to have both, and I was married to the town herbalist for 10yrs and he saved my life), go to these resources and ask them, I know they can be of good assistance. If not go to your library and do some research, there are several good natural healing books with references to your issue, or to scars. Most prepared commercial products are diluted, expensive and less effective than you'll find in those two types of stores. I wish you well. Oh, the vitamin e can get kind of stick icky....perhaps placing the oil onto a good thick padded bandaid would prevent it from getting on your clothes or bed linen?!

ok well i'm 13/f and i just found like a bald spot on my head! i mean i have hair that covers it up... but there's like a quarter sized bald spot when i lift my hair up... what could be the cause of this and is there anything i can do? this is so embarassing and weird! please help- i rate

Well, the first thought would be that you have a scar there and the hair isn't going to return to that effected area. Then I'd ask if the skin there itches or you have any discomfort? If so, possibly it might be a ringworm and you'd want to follow up on that. If not, then ask yourself if you have such spots any place else on your body? If not, have an adult look at it. If it's not a scar, if it doesn't itch, burn, get scaley, then it's probably not a ringworm, then perhaps it's just a quirk of nature and you won't have hair there ever...... but do have an adult look it over and don't fret and fuss too many about it if indeed it's not a ringworm or effects you in any other physical way.... or you'll cause some other condition to occur because you're worrying about it too much. It sounds like it doesn't show, so most others won't know it's even there.

does anyone know an exercise for ur butt? and theighs? lol it sounds funny but im serious

I may be an old lady, but when I want my butt to be more round.... I lie on my back, put this certain Elton John record on and simply tighten my butt cheeks and keeping my body laid out straight and sort of stiff.... rock back and forth to the beat of the song...until it's over...about 3 mins.... you keep your butt cheeks tight the whole time.... and then there's the one... you get down on all fours...hands and knees.... lift one leg at a time out straight behind you.... lift it up and down and up and down without touching the floor with your foot... then change legs and do it all over again, between these to exercised, I can maintain a tight round butt....ha! Also walking up hill while tightening the butt cheek on the side where the leg is going to take the step uphill works well also.... hope I've made some sense of this, if not contact me and I'll try to explain these again... I do know they work tho..... and my body is lots older than yours... so it takes more for me.... to maintain mine, lucky you...

its was kinda embrassing situation....recently we had a dance party where i was dancing like crazy having beer & few puffs of smoke...I was sweating excessively i can say....sweat dripping from my face...my party shirt completly wet....i heard one of my colleagues saying yucks i cant dance with him, look at this state....i was totally embarassed..can we control sweating by regular excersise...plz advise as i dont want to put myself into that particular situation again....rate high for the best advise...

From my experience excess sweating can be from kidneys not doing their job properly.... see if you can find a naturopathic doctor, an Oriental doctor or a working herbalist in your area, if not go to the library and search through those kinds of books with excessive sweating as the subject matter.. this is just a suggestion and I feel one worth looking into... don't use those stupid underarm deodorants with the bad ingredients.... I use what I call a 'pit stone' it looks like a clear rock and you simply get it wet and rub in on under your arms, it still lets you sweat(your pours under your arms don't want to be plugged up with bad stuff) but you don't smell..... do some research in alternative publications and find what foods, supplements help the kidneys function more efficiently... I find alternative methods work real well as the saved my life in the early 90's.... so I know they work.... good luck!

I am 5ft. 3in and weigh 140lbs! I have tried to los weight but I just can't. I am like one of the biggest girls in my school and at my dance studio. I hate it, especially when this one girl kept making fun of my size. My doctor even told me I need to lose weight. What should I do? I have tried dieting and excersicing but nothing works! Why me?

You will not gain weight on veggies and rice... but don't use white rice, no nutrition what so ever.....also stay away from anything in flour in it, bread and bread products(muffins, rolls, cookies, pancakes, waffles, most cerals) and stay away from pastas, sphagetti stuff.... they'll put weight on most of us out here.... find ways to enjoy and prepare veggies and fruits...but don't mix fruits with meals...eat them separately and make certain you're having a bowel movement for every meal you eat, if you're not, then you aren't eliminating the waste/toxins from your system.... and sometimes young people go through their 'fat stage' but again, look at what you're fueling our body with and then try to upgrade and improve upon your choices.... it will assist you in the long run, afterall you've got lots of years left to spend in that physical body of yours..... take care and good luck... stay away from sodas, especially those horrible diet ones.... they kill brain cells your body doesn't ever replace...

ok i went to the hospital because i had heart fluttering & i felt really dizzy & sometimes my heart felt pressure, etc etc. but now i have to wait, but is it true that your chest can actually palpitate?? i felt a feeling close to that on the other side. any ideas er juss anything?? expierence wise?? im 15 btw & i have asthma & play sports.

thanks!!

With asthma don't do any, ANY dairy, it will exasperate your condition but you know that right? Heart palpitations are quit common and mine was due to a need my body had for more magnesium.... so I now take a good calcium magnesium supplment, one my body can actually absorb.... some one the market ie: ones containing oyster shell or chalk, won't help a bit.... do you eat junk foods? Better start eating better if you do as your body is trying to tell you something. Don't drink diet sodas and any soda is really bad, mine come from our natural foods store, when I do do one or two. Eat often and the dizziness might go away... the body needs fuel and the right fuel to operate properly just as a car needs gas and not water or sugar.... they won't run long on the wrong stuff.... I'm sure our condition can be fixed.... if you make some of the right and higher choices....good luck.

i'm a junior and guy. my friends usually like to have parties or get togethers, and i usually can't go because something comes up or i have other plans. with this group of friends, they are good guys, generally stay out of trouble, but the one day i couldn't go, i decided not to because i had to work on a project. the next day i heard one of the guys was rushed into a hospital because he was drinking too much. i dont like drinking, never have, and would like not to. so if they do invite me to a get together, should i just decline? i don't want to be left out of the loop, but personally i don't like drinking, don't really mind if others do though. what should i do...avoid it completely? will rate

I'm just an old lady, but a really together grandma and I've never been drunk and I've taken flack for it most my life... but I just don't care what people think of me. So, go to the party and take along with you whatever it is you'll want to drink while they drink what they want to. I use to drive my friends around town because they were always drunk and I never was... I often wondered how many lives I had saved...? If the pressure gets too great from your buddies, shame on them for doing that to you but misery loves company, and hangovers can't be much fun... I remember all the kids with hangovers on Mondays at school, how awful that must have been to attempt to study or focus.... just take a swallow of some of their brew and then a swig off yours(hopefully an almost empty container, and spit their brew into your container, they won't get it.... and you'll appear to them to be consuming..... and just don't let their pressure get to you... let them know you wish to be their friend because you see good things about them, but you believe that drinking doesn't add to your life or your physical well being... they'll poke fun but in later years they'll realize you were right all along..... I respect your view and your attitude toward drinking.... I haven't missed out on a single thing by not drinking... and now I have a glass of red wine with a meal sometimes because it is healthy for me....it's whatever is under the skin of the grapes that go into making red wine..... good luck and remain true to yourself, for it is your life, your choices and you will not ever be sorry.... this is the voice of experience... and an old nutsy weirdo kook, but hey I'm having a really good life.... so I have no complaints...

is it okay to put my sea sick patch on my butt or boob? i know it sounds weird.. but i don't want the patch to interfere with my tan. i don't even know if i'll need it yet, if i get sea sick. but is this okay? thanks.

Don't know about the pads, but I do know ginger is really good for motion/sea sickness.... it comes in many forms and won't have to be worn on the body.... capsules, ginger candy, ginger tea, but the capsules are best for sea sickness and are found in any healthfood store....but if you have a good nurtrition or herb store nearby, go there first.... for you wish the good and potent capsules not one's with fillers in them...

As of Friday, i've been real sick. I took a nap all afternoon, and when i woke up I felt all dizzy. the only time i would feel good is when i have my head down. and right when i get up, i feel all dizzy again. then at points i kept gagging, but never threw up. and i kept burbing alot too.. until yesterday, i started having real bad diahrea, and my dizzyness and gagging has slowed down. but im still getting much headaches and stomach aches... does anyone know what is wrong with me?

my mom has just been telling me to take some medicine.. and that doesnt even work!

Well where I live, oregon coast, there's this nasty virus going around... it starts in the head and you have a sinus like condition then it moves down into the digestive tract and you feel nauseated and then it travels down into the intestinal tract and you'll have running stools.... I take herbal things for my virus... and it seems to work.... but also, because this virus is a nasty one.... just when you think you're over it and feel really well again, it starts all over again..... good luck, I suggest you seek help from either a working herb store in your area or perhaps an Oriental doctor if you have them where you are.... earth's plants can heal these issues....

[view]

okayyyyy this question is basically for people who have heart problems er know someone that does, er juss somethingggg. yes i know that no ones a doctor er w/e but i need opinions. okay i'm practically out for my season because i had an episode where i went to the ER because my heart was fluttering so bad, i felt like i was going to pass out, i was dizzy, my skin color was off & i looked off. soo i went & they gave me an EKG & tests & xrays & they don't want me playing until jan. because thats when my appt. is. i don't know, i want to play & i'm afraid it'll be something totally small & i do have asthma. has anyone had this & played a sport?? it could be completely dangerous but i juss wanna know the outcomes out've it since i'm not allowed to play at all.

thanks!!

I'm not a professional but I can relate to heart flutters.... when I met the local herbalist...and we married and were working partners in a working herb store for ten years... I had heart flutters... he had me start taking a good calcium/magnesium supplement that my body would absorb and extra magnesium and my heart flutters are no more.... I suggest you check with an alternative healtcare practioner... ie, naturopath, herbalist and see what they have to say first, BEFORE doing any drugs for the condition... if this incident is your first and only experience, then I 'd have to say that probably there's nothing real serious going on just your body trying to tell you that something is out of balance... I hope this helps a little...you can also go into your city library and do some research in natural healthcare books, with the heart flutter as the issue and see what you find.... I would do that before allowing medical people to give me pills and loads of tests..... just a suggestion....and good luck, it will be OK! Trust your body...and lay off the sodas..... even the diet ones, they are truly very bad for us....

okay sometimes i have these blackouts i guess you could say there not to bad like passout i just see nothing but black its only for a sec. tho im not sure what it is tho they scare me sometimes cuz ill just be walking and it just gos black and im only 14 so im not sure what it is can anyone help me?

First are you eating healthy foods, and eating often enough. Do you eat things with additives and perservatives in them? Are you on medications with side effects and if not then look at your daily habits.... perhaps you allergic to something.... household cleaners, laundry detergents, dish soap, bath/toilet items.... if you find nothing in those areas then perhaps seeking professional help is the answer but I'd start with a working herbalist person or naturopathic physician because they don't use medications with side effects.... good luck I hope you find your answer and get back to balanced health soon....

Everyone I know has smoked weed. I dont really want to; but I figured the easy way out was to tell people (if they asked) that I have. (even though I never have and they have).... so yea, anyways, how do u feel after ur high??
Is this wrong of me to do? I know I shouldnt have to feel like lieing to them about this, because its nothign to really be proud of, but.. I cant help it and it stops a lot of questions, or them trying to get me to smoke.. ya know?

Hey first let me say that I celebrate you for not using the stuff.... me I tried it once and all I noticed was that I wanted to nibble all the time and my natural highs are much much much better..... continue being true to yourself and not following through by actually using the stuff. I don't believe in lying if it hurts another person spiritually, emotionally or physically.... but a little white lie sometimes is an OK path to take... one just feels really relaxed and laid back and nothing bothers you or upsets you.... you want to be peaceful....read up on the hippy era....you'll finds lots about how it affected people... I only tried it once, actually twice and it didn't do anything for me that life wasn't already bringing me. And you have a really awesome outlook on life and I don't think you'd be very wise to try to improve upon that.... do explore books in the library on the 60's..... and those ole hippies.... they had a good thing going then they got into more than the weed and got lazy and lacked most desire to make something out of their lives.... but of course many of them had to go to Vietnam and get killed and for what?..... I know you'll find more info from that era about the effects of pot on a human body.... good luck

okay, i have this mark on my boob, its like blood red and it was like a bump last night and now its not. it looks kind of like razor burn except theres to red bumps in the middle of the little red speckles. i hope thats not confusing. its gotten a little less red and it doesnt hurt. breast cancer doesnt run in my family or anything like that its just scaring me a bit.

please and thanks
p.s. PLEASE DONT TELL ME TO TALK TO A DOCTOR OR MY MOM, IF I WANTED TO I WOULDNT HAVE ASKED THIS QUESTION. and no smart asses please.

We'll I'm an old lady, but I too have these very small red marks on my body, not just on a breast. They first appear as bright red, very small, and all are about the same very small size..... they do feel like a little bump at first and then seem to flatten out... I've had them for about 20 years and haven't ever worried about them... they eventually go away and as they seem to age, their color changes from bright red to a darker subdued shade of red....they never itch, get bigger or bother me in any way..... I was married to a working herbalist for ten years, he literally saved my life and I am very grateful, and he never worried about them.... mine appear mostly on my middle body... don't have any on my arms or legs and I have probably oh a dozen of them.... sorry I can't be of more help.... hope you find an answer, let me know won't you! Good luck and try not to worry too much OK? Great!
