Heartwhisper answered Monday January 2 2006, 2:41 pm: First are you eating healthy foods, and eating often enough. Do you eat things with additives and perservatives in them? Are you on medications with side effects and if not then look at your daily habits.... perhaps you allergic to something.... household cleaners, laundry detergents, dish soap, bath/toilet items.... if you find nothing in those areas then perhaps seeking professional help is the answer but I'd start with a working herbalist person or naturopathic physician because they don't use medications with side effects.... good luck I hope you find your answer and get back to balanced health soon.... Philosodweeb answered Wednesday December 21 2005, 12:31 am: "I think you should go to a doctor." Is not an answer to your question. Why do people even bother, as if you don't know what a doctor is for. There could be many reasons for your blackouts as you call them. If they occur while you are walking you could be having a circulatory problem. If you notice your heart racing in unison with the blackout that might clue you into that being the cause. If not, then it could be something strictly visual...which means you could have a detaching retina or some other obstruction in your eye. If you are experiencing no other physiological problems and the blackouts are occuring because you are staring in one spot for too long then the explanation is simple...to perceive anything from sensation you must have change, context, comparative energies to displace pressure or light. If anyone stares at one spot for long enough they will eventual lose all vision temporarily. The only way we can see at all is because our eyes never stop moving. If all else fails, assess your own experience about this and then decide if medical expertise is what you need. [ Philosodweeb's advice column | Ask Philosodweeb A Question ]
cailoisa answered Tuesday December 20 2005, 7:45 pm: I have something similar. When I stand up, and sometimes when I'm crouching, running, or just walking around, my vision blacks out. I also sometimes get a little dizzy or disoriented. I found out that it's because I have low blood sugar.
However, your problem may be caused by something completely different. To be on the safe side, you really should go see a doctor. It might not cause you too much trouble now, but it may get worse. Or you might black out at a crucial moment, like walking down or flight of stairs, or in traffic when you start driving.
Shortie8959 answered Tuesday December 20 2005, 5:58 pm: Does it usually happen after you get up from sitting or lying down? That happens to me a lot, especially during the summer when I'm lying around all day. I'm not sure what it is, but I'm just saying you're not alone. I wish I knew what it was too. If you find out though, let me know. Sorry I wasn't of much help, but good luck! :) ♥ Erin [ Shortie8959's advice column | Ask Shortie8959 A Question ]
