Special K brand foods are said to be healthy, but is it even good for a diet. I'm not one to starve myself to be thin, that's just sad.. but some things I know is just for advertising sales. I was told that this advertising was not factual. So, I wanted to know if special snacks, cereals, etc are really good for nutrition, fiber and are they really that healty? And what foods are healthy but good that I can enjoy while on a diet? (link)

special K is healthy compared to some sugary cereal but it has 10 g of sugar and corn syrup and artificial ingredients. if you are looking to loose weight follow the new food pyramid here

Ok I want to lose about 35 pounds, and I don't care much about hearing about the healthy way to do things. Lately things have been kind of hard for me and I have lost my appetite, and it just so happens I want to lose weight, too. I don't eat anything most days, and when I do eat, it's only one meal a day (supper). I'm guessing I consume 900-1000 cals a day maximum. People say you will lose muscle first, and then your metabolism slows, and you won't lose ANY fat if you do that. However I've noticed my uniform skirt fits me way looser, and my dad said my face was getting really thin. I have been eating like this for about 2 weeks. So my question is, even though they say you just lose water weight etc, is it possible that I'm losing fat ?
Oh and I haven't been super weak or anything.

It is possible that you are loosing a little fat, but most of this is probably water weight, which you can easily gain back.
if you are only going to eat one meal a day, dinner is not a good one to choose.
i know its easiest because you are with your parents and they want you to eat. but its late at night and eating all of those calories before you go to bed is hurting you in the long run in loosing weight.
instead try eating a small breakfast like an apple. apples have lots of fiber and it will keep you full. fiber is an important nutrient when it comes to loosing weight. also eating breakfast starts your metabolism so its easier for your body to burn fat and calories through out the day.
if you want to loose weight quicker its important that you exercise for atleast 30 minutes a day doing cardio (dancing, jumping jacks, running, kick boxing, etc;) you might be able to find an exercise routine on FitTV. and if you have digital cable channel 557 is exercise on demand.
and i know i can't make you eat but if you are choosing not to. which you really should eat. take a multi-vitamin so you will stay healthy.

ok heres the word.. i'm 5'2 and 140lbs thats roughly 2 pounds over the normal weight. I play volleyball and i just got moved up to the front line to start(so i can spike the ball = ] ) ok so my coach and i were talking and i wanted to know how i can jump higher she said to work on my leg musles and try to get to about 100-105 pounds. thats alot of pounds rite there... i love food and i am a carb queen, but i'm willing to stop becasue i love volley ball more. soooooooo basicly i have to lose 35 lbs in idk 3 weeks? i am willing to do anything. its impossible to lose 35 Ibs in 3 weeks.
average healthy weight loss can be anywhere from 1-3 pounds a week.
if you loose weight over a longer period of time it will stay off longer.
so just diet and exercise.
follow the NEW food pyramid. and 30 minutes everyday of cardio and then some muscle toning exercises.

green tea is healthy.
but think about if you are going to add anything to it. and alot of times it has alot of sugar in it. or atleast the kind you buy in a bottle.
but if you are trying to loose weight the best possible thing is just to stick to water because it has no calories.

they are better for you than other junk food. they are baked instead of fried. and i think its made out of whole wheat. low in fat and calories compared to chips.

and if you are the 2nd skninniest girl in your grade you probably don't have to worry about it that much, since you probably have a high metabolism. but i am glad you are trying to live a healthier life :]

ive had this homeade stuff before.. its dip for like apples and just pretty much other fruit.. but all i know is it has cream cheese and marshmallow cream in it. does anyone know what im talkin about and if so can you give me a recipe/link? (link)

OH MY GOSH! i know what your talking about! that stuff is like soooo goood!
when my mom makes it she just usually puts a whole jar of marshmallow cream & a whole tub thing of strawberry cream cheese & mixes it, then your done! :]

heya im 15 years old and recently ive been noticing a lot of hair falling out!
1. when im in the bath and am lathering in shampoo i find a lot of strands knotted around my fingers.
2. when i run my fingers through my hair there are about 4/5 broken strands and about 7 full strands floating to the floor
3. when i brush my hair i leave a carpet of strands of hair on my lap
I dont know if this is normal (because ive heard that you lose about 80 strands of hair a day) and i have a good diet , plenty of fruit n veg etc, and i straighten my hair everyday. I understand that this doesnt sound much but if it happens everyday as it does then wont i have less hair in a couple of years? help!

Its probably normal.
Try not straightening your hair for a day and see if anything improves. Straightening your hair damages it and makes it weaker. So before your straighten it buy some cream to protect your hair ( l`oreal intense repair, texturline hot style ironing creme, etc.) If you blowdry your hair try to do it on the lowest heat setting. You might want to get some strengthening shampoo & a good conditioner. Also to prevent breakage dont put your hair in a ponytail when its wet.

I'm 16, 5'3" and weigh 152 pounds. I just moved to a new state and am going back to visit my friends in 2 months. I'd like to drop 20-30 pounds before I go back, and also slim down my thighs and butt. I'm a vegetarian, I don't eat fast food, and I don't drink soda. But with 6 AP classes and a job it's hard to eat right most of the time. I barely even have time to workout but I do what I can at night and on the weekends. Is there anyway that I can drop the weight? (link)

Stick to water.
& Celery will fill you up and has like no calories.
You could also try waking up like 30 minutes earlier and jogging around the block, that helps alot.

I know that if you don't eat, it actually makes your body gain weight, or so everyone says. But honestly, if you ate nothing, or say 1 apple every day for 2 weeks..would you lose or gain weight? I've always been curious about this. Thank you. (link)

You would probably lose weight, but it would slow down your metabolism tromendously. Stick to the food pyramid, drink water, and excersise if you want to lose weight, its the best way.
