Advertising Health: What's really good for you?

Question Posted Tuesday April 15 2008, 8:16 pm

Special K brand foods are said to be healthy, but is it even good for a diet. I'm not one to starve myself to be thin, that's just sad.. but some things I know is just for advertising sales. I was told that this advertising was not factual. So, I wanted to know if special snacks, cereals, etc are really good for nutrition, fiber and are they really that healty? And what foods are healthy but good that I can enjoy while on a diet?

Special K is not that. On a scale of 1 to 10 it is about a 7. I recommend a well rounded diet. 5 servings of fruits and vegetables, grilled chicken, baked and broiled fish, regular serving of salads, and plenty of pure water. I'm a nutrition freak and have put together a free website dealing with being healthy. Requires NO information of any kind. I have supplied many links dealing with some tremendous health related sites. spend some time going through the site. I also linked to cookbooks, juicing options, smoothie recipes so you should find plenty to answer your questions. I have a link to email me if you have any specific questions you would like reference material on. www.healthfix4life.com

look at the labels in the food you want to know about. Look at the calories and compare it to the calories that come from fat (fat calories should be less than 1/3 of the total calories). Also look at the ingrediants. They are listed based on the quantity of the ingrediant in the product. So see if there is more sugar than grains. Also look at the trans fat and saturated fat. Looking at these things shows what the food is really like.

p.s. there is no such thing as "organic" food. That right there is a fluke. Don't buy into that.

special K is healthy compared to some sugary cereal but it has 10 g of sugar and corn syrup and artificial ingredients. if you are looking to loose weight follow the new food pyramid here
[Link](Mouse over link to see full location) with exercise AT LEAST 3 times a week. you CAN NOT loose wieght without exercise.
hope that helps and contact me if you have any other questions =]
