Hi, I'm Sophie. Welcome to my advice column!
I know I'm only fourteen and you may think that I know practically nothing, but I've been through a lot for a fourteen-year-old and I've seen a lot of things that other fourteen-year-olds haven't.
I've been depressed before and I've been through stages of my life where I've had nobody to talk to and nobody to turn to. I know how tough it is, so I suppose that's why I signed up for this site.
I want to help others who aren't as fortunate as I am now.
I'll try and help with whatever I can. I'm just starting out on here but soon hopefully my personal page will be slightly nicer to look at and stuff.
All the love in the world,
Sophie xxx
I am realistic, competitive, sentimental, crazy, private, cynical, ambitious, determined, self-centred and I always look on the bright side of life. I try to, anyway.
I hope I can help xxx

does anyone have any favorite quotes or liefly lessons? (link)
|
Yeah, I have lots. I'll write a few down and take any you like:
*What doesn't kill us makes us stronger
*The only reason anybody would hate you is because they want to be like you.
*Life's a bitch. Times change. Get over it.
*It's not always rainbows and butterflies
*You'll never get to heaven if you're scared of getting high
*You can't manufacture a miracle.
*Smile and see what happens
*The pages you turn are the lessons you learn
Sorry if these weren't the type of things you wanted, but if they were, drop me a note and I'll get some more :)
Hope I helped,
Sophie xxx

um this sounds kind of dumb... but are big heads a turn-off or like a bad quality that would turn a guy away from a girl... my heads pretty big and i hate it but theres nothing i can do.. its a big deal to me but is it a big deal to other people.. what do you think, any advice? (link)
|
I don't really know about anyone else, but I've never met somebody and thought, "Jeez, that guy's got a big head".
Even if your head it big, then unfortunately you're right, there's nothing you can do about it.
Stand tall, and remember that it's possible that you're just paranoid. People don't generally notice things like that (honest) and there's lots of other worse things that could go wrong with your appearence.
Good luck!

Everytime I fight with someone I start shaking, is this normal? (link)
|
Yeah, it's normal. Everyone shakes when they're sort of nervous or scared-don't worry about it!

I complain a LOT. And half the time I do it without meaning to...and it's starting to annoy me, let alone the people around me. Any tips on how I can stop complaining, or at least reduce the amount of complaining I do?
I whinge about all sorts of things, from the weather to homework to the fact that I'm tired/hungry/bored...whatever. It sucks, I feel like I don't have a good word to say about anything any more...I want to be positive again, but how? (link)
|
Watch some feel-good films; read some feel-good books; buy a joke book; do anything that'll cheer you up.
Alternatively, have an elastic band (or maybe several) on your wrist and whenever you complain (about something trivial, anyway) snap it. Eventually you will get used to not complaining as much. Good luck!

Okay, 5 seconds ago I just dropped the camera that I got this Christmas! I know it cost like..130 dollars, and it was the gift from my parents, unlike the other ones from 'santa' hha. Anyway, i dropped it, and now its all scratchy inside, and I got it to turn on..and it wont now. It sounds like pieces in the inside are juggling around. I unscrewed the top to see if anything was in there, but the bottom doesn't unscrew, so you can't take it off, so I don't know. Wtf do I do? I LOVE that DIGITAL camera, and my parents are gonna be soo pissed. Should I blame my cat? Be like, "I think the cat hit this off the table' or something. Omg, please help, my mom's gonna be home soon. PLUS, I'm supposed to bring it to school tomorrow. Oh man :( (link)

If you still have the helpline number, call customer support. Your Mum will probably not notice if it's gone for a couple of hours, and usually then there's someone that can help you on the line.
Good luck!

Hey! Okay...really gross problem (and I only want you to answer if u have had the same problem and had it fixed) well i sweat really bad. Even without doing physical activity...it's really gross and I'm sure people notice it cause you can see it through my clothes (under my arms). I've tried lots of deoderant and baby power and it doesn't work...what should I do? (link)
|
Hmm...have you tried really strong deodorant? That might work better for you. Carry it around with you if possible.
You're probably being a little paranoid; I doubt that many people will have noticed.
If you have a close friend that you can talk to and can trust, ask him/her what they think and if they noticed.
Hope that was of some help!
