Ok, after I graduate highschool, I really want to join a group that travels around the world and helps out other countries. I was thinking about joining the Peace Corp, but I have one MAJOR issue- it's government run, and I don't trust our government. Are there any similar groups that are available? Thanks for any information you can give me. =]

You're going to have trouble finding organizations like this in the country that aren't government-run.

I've seen some run by colleges or private corporations but they are only for a short period of time and cost a lot of money.

I heard rubbing alcohol is really good for acne, is this true? Has anyone tried it? (link)
I wouldn't say "really good". It's very drying, but if you put it just on really bad pimples and not all over your skin it's probably okay to use every once in a while as a last resort.

i'm totally freaking out...well ok...i've been getting some signs with the number 5 in it like everytime i look at the clock it's usually 5:55....and i just keep seeing it everywhere...does anyone know what that means??well also i got this really wierd phone call and so did my friend...the number was 555-555-5555..wierd right?well does anyone know what that number is...and my friend also got a call from 111-111-1111...wierd...can someone please help???also i don't think this helps but i'm 14/f (link)
There is no phone number in the world that begins with 555. That's why they use it in movies and stuff, so people won't call them and annoy whoever owns the number, and the movie companies won't get sued.

So I have a feeling that this means nothing.

i definitely know trampolines can be dangerous. But i want one so badly that i've been beging my parents for like 2 years. they still say i'll think about it but then when they do they say no, its dangerous. but i did some research and most of the injuries from trampolines are falling of them, but if you get a GOOOD Safety net, that will solve that problem. and the other injuries are mostly falling on the side where the springs are or landing improperly from doing stunts and stuff. the side has padding on most trampolines and trust me i'm too afraid to do those flips and stuff. how can i convince my parents that i will be extra safe and cautious with a trampoline? (link)
Show them all the research you've done.

It will show that you are dedicated to getting a trampoline, and you know what to do so that they are safer.

Also, make sure you have room in your yard where you would put one. That might be another issue.

And yet another problem they might have with the trampoline is price. I don't know how much they cost, but I can't imagine it's cheap. Offer to pitch in whatever you can to help pay for it.

i having a really hard time. right now my hair is brownish blondish and i want it a darker brown. my mom is saying i should get lowlights, i think i should get it dyed. arent lowlights really streaky? which one is better? thanks i rate high. (link)
If the lowlights are done by a good hairdresser(which shouldn't be hard to find, honestly), they won't look streaky. They'll look more natural than if you dye it completely and if you have them for a while, it could be a good transition to dying your hair completely dark if that is what you eventually want to do. They're less drastic.

Does anyone have ANY type of pimple medication that will make them go away quickly [a day or two]. Anything will work, either something I can make or buy.

If you're really rushed and have one of those nasty under-the-skin zits(the ones that never come to a head but lurk redly for a million years), you can go to your doctor for a cortisone shot that will clear it up quickly.

If it's normal acne, you can put straight rubbing alcohol to dry them out, but if you have sensitive skin it's not a good idea because that's VERY damaging.

Another way to dry them out is to leave a paste of sugar and water on individual pimples overnight(toothpaste works too).

i was just wondering if this happened to anyone. my bely ring got infected prob cus i touched it and changed alot but i switched mi cleaning stuff to bactine i was using sea salt before n the infection went away but i liek burned it and it just never healed after that and so i went to a piercer n they told me to take it out and get repierced but the hole is taking forever to close. n i went to a different piercer n they said i woudl have to forget about it for awhile till it heals. im just wondering if anyone has had this happen or knows anything abuot hwo logn it take or if thre is anything i canput on it (link)
I would like to personally kick in the teeth any piercer who told you to take out the jewelry when your piercing was infected.

If it is infected, DO NOT DO NOT DO NOT take out the jewelry. It can close up around the infection and cause a much more serious problem.

Chances are it's not infected, just irritated. If it was infected, you should have gone to a doctor and gotten antibiotics for it.

Don't use bactine to clean it. Sea salt soaks are the best and, in my opinion, only good way to care for piercings. You may have been using the wrong proportion of sea salt to warm water, though, and that could cause problems. If you taste the solution, it should only be about as salty as your tears, no more.

Here's a website for everything you would ever want to know about piercings and other body modifications: www.bmezine.com

Hey! I wear contacts and I have like -3.75 and -4.25 vision. I wanted to know if it was ever possible for your eyes to go back to normal....like get better again, so I don't have to wear contacts anymore. Please no websites! ♥ (link)
When you get older(around forties and fifties probably) your vision starts to go in the opposite direction, so for people with very minor vision problems(like mine, which is -0.5 and -0.75), it is possible for it to even out. But for you, it is doubtful. If you are that fed up with glasses and contacts, you could look into Lasik vision correction surgery.

I absolutely love to read. Can anyone give me lots of great teen books (novels are great!) that you absolutely loved...Most likely if a lot of people have read it, ive read it too. so think of some good ones that not many have read. some examples of my faves are Looking For Alaska, and Hard Love. Just looking for some more options! Thanks a bunch.

A great series that a lot of girls can relate to is the Confessions of Georgia Nicolson by Louise Rennison.

My favorite author is Michael Crichton, and although what he writes is far from teen books, you might want to give him a shot(I can't put his books down).

i was wondering what buenosaires means?
ill rate 5's for your time ! :] (link)
Buenos Aires is the captial of the South American country Argentina.

is there any way to get maple syrup out of a shirt?
(link)
If it's a white shirt, use bleach(duh). But if not, try a stain remover of some sort, like shout or something, let it set in and then wash it normally.

If that doesn't work, all I can suggest is putting a patch over it or something.

hey..im 13..5'4..and wiegh 140..is that fat? is that y guys dont like me?
(link)
You are not fat, but you are marginal of being unhealthy. Make sure you eat heathily and exercise regularly. Don't be offended by that, as I am just talking about your health, not your looks.

As for guys not liking you, I'm sure there's someone out there who does. I thought no guys liked me, ad then I told a guy that I liked him and found out he had liked me for a long time! So if you like someone, tell them. That's the best thing you can do.

Hey, I've been using tampons for a little while now and it's kind of weird! Are you supposed to feel a little uncomfortable wearing them if there still new to you? Do you think they feel that way because it's not up far enough or something? I know I put it in right, but I still feel a little discomfort when there in! What's wrong? (link)
If you feel discomfort, you're doing something wrong. Ask your mom, older sister, or a girl who uses tampons that you trust for help.
