it depends onif you go to a beauty palor or do it at home. If you go to a salon just make it clear to the stylist that you go to that you dont want chunky lowlights ... you want it to look very natural... then you should be OK... but if you want to do it at home then you are better of dying it completley because it is way easier to end up with streaky chunky looking lowlights if you attempt to do it your self
*hope I helped*

well if you want darker hair mabey you should dye your hair brown and get blond streaks but the thing with lowlights is they are steaky some times but that can be prvented with the right hair salon place just dont do it your self and be carefull because blond is a very strong and it can fry your hair easy so dont dye your hair and then streak it wait a little wile first

If the lowlights are done by a good hairdresser(which shouldn't be hard to find, honestly), they won't look streaky. They'll look more natural than if you dye it completely and if you have them for a while, it could be a good transition to dying your hair completely dark if that is what you eventually want to do. They're less drastic.
