First of all, Happy Birthday. And don't let a girl get to you...I have been in a similar situation with this man, I am completely in love with him, but we are not together. I think that the best thing to do is back off a little bit. If "Sammie" is anything like me she would enjoy chasing you, don't be completely unavailable but let her come to you. This will work out if y'all are truly met to be. I hope that this helps. I know that it is probably not what you wanted to hear, hang in there. It will get better.

It's the first time to contact you but I really need yr advice here. I'm 26 years old from Egypt and I'm in love with a women 25 years my senior. She is from TX. We first met in a chat room and we were very nice to each other. Actually I met her after some emotional troubles and depression I was stuck in before our meet with 12 months or more but after I met this women I really found a life should be lived and she helped me to heal my soul. We know each other since last March 2006 and after 3 months we both felt that chemistry between us and she was the first telling me that she die at me and she loves me, and I also was feeling the same way. She only has one 23 years old daugther who's working in another state so my my lover stays alone at home and she told me that she has met before other guys in chat rooms and most of them told her that they love her also and want to marry her and she had told me that before telling me that she loves me. When she has told me about those guys I explained her that there are alot of guys from outside the US who use this way to get marry with women from the US or Europe for immigration purposes.
I told her that I'll not be ready to leave my country now because I have family here I have to take of and I cannot leave them and she suggested to come and live here but I also found it not good idea because life her is not easy at all.
I have a job here and I like it and I'm afraid if I'll move to the US that I'll never find a similar job but I told my lover that I'm ready to work in any job and will not a problem.
She also as most of the older women have worries about the comments of the friends and family after she talked to them and there are some with and others are against. Her daughter has not rejection for this matter and all she wants is to find her Mom is happy in her life after 2 bad marriages she suffered from.
I know that you will find this a crazy idea because the age difference between us but I see her as the most beautiful women on earth and I guess she finds me that kindhearted young man who loves her and wants to spend the rest of his life with her. But believe me, I don't mind with her age or the other people's opinion even we talked about having children and I told her that I don't want kids because this could be dangerous to her life and all I want is she.
So, please give me yr advice and I'm waiting for any other details or explains you might need.
Regards,
M. AAMER (link)

I don't think that there is anything wrong with an age difference. I think that it might be a big deal at first with friends and family, but they will eventually see that you both love each other and they will learn to accept the fact that you are in a relationship together. I am not sure what to tell you on the whole moving issue, but if she has children and you don't, but I would say that you should make the move to the US. I wouldn't worry about a job, something will always come up. Especially if it was the right decision for you. I hope that this helped, and let me know how things turn out.

My boyfriend kinda over-does it when it comes to complimenting me. I really appreciate him being sweet and all, but he takes it too far sometimes. When we were at dinner the other night, I asked him to pass the salad and he responded saying "I'd love to pass the salad to my most awesomest girlfriend in the world that I love more then she loves salad"
.. Yeah weird, but the problem is, he does that in EVERY conversation so its not just once-in-a-while. It becomes more annoying then flattering. How do I get him to take it down a notch but still making sure that he knows I appreciate his efforts? He hasn't caught on to my hints to getting him to stop. (link)

Marry him...the compliments will immediately stop. LOL, but I am guessing that is not a great option for you. So, I would just start doing what he is doing, maybe he would then get the clue that it is annoying. I hope this helps.

I don't think that sixteen is too young to have a child. But I will ask you to really look into it, completely understand what would be involved. Expenses, time, emotions, etc. Being a parent is hard work. But if you are truly in love with the person, that could become the next step. I wish you all the best of luck, and I hope that this helps. Keep me posted on what you decide.

No one can tell you whether you are in love or not...but you might be. Just think back over your day, do you think about her constantly, can't get her off your mind? Do you make decision with what she would want in mind? If you answered yes to these questions, you are probably in love. Hope this helps.

So there's this guy that's 29 and I'm really attracted to him, both physically and emotionally. We can talk for long periods of time without getting bored and we talk about anything and everything. He's funny, charming, polite, smart, handsome, responsible, everything I look for in a guy. We get along really well and seem to really click. We have fun doing whatever we do. The thing is, I'm 18. I think that's the only thing that's standing in the way of us taking this a step further. I personally don't have a problem with the age difference, but I think he does. What should I do? I really like him and can honestly say that I'm falling in love with him. (link)

I do not see anything wrong with an age difference, but if it is a problem for him, take things slowly. I was in a similar position and I just had to wait it out. He eventually realized that he was also in love with me, and the age differenc is not such a big deal. I hope this helps.

Ok, summary. I'm 23 years old, smart, mature, grounded, and I think I'm pretty and have a great sense of humor. The problem is I have such a hard time attracting guys. I could be thinner...but what I don't understand is, I have a friend who's younger than me by a couple of years and it's like she jumps from one guy to the next.
We're a lot alike, except I'm not really into the partying scene anymore and I don't have a lot of baggage as far as my past goes. It's pretty clean, cut, 2 serious boyfriends and that's it. She has a lot of baggage. Am I doing something wrong?
She's my friend and I think she's great, but I'm just confused as to what she's got that I don't. I personally (and I'm not the only one) don't think she's prettier than I am. I know she's got more confidence than I do. But I'm not the kind of person to just walk in and be all up in someone's face, I'm very down-to-earth and laid back. She's still in the partying scene, while I'm getting out of that and I'm wanting to find a relationship that's not all about partying. Am I lacking an important relationship quality?
I'm in college, work full-time (Monday-Friday), go to church, outgoing, friendly, good sense of humor...
Someone help me because I'm really beginning to second guess myself. (link)

First of all, never think that anything is wrong with you. You are perfect the way that you are. I want you to always remember that. As for guys, well...I am not sure. Are you friends with a lot of guys? You might just be overlooking someone that is madly in love with you. If not, then your right guy just hasn't come along. Which is fine, because this gives you more time to enjoy life. I am having a hard time with this saying at the moment, "the right guy will come along when you least expect it". But the problem with this saying, is that you want to think that you are not expecting it, but you truly are, deep down. It is just built into us woman. The whole "marriage material" thing, well, my guess is that you are very marriage oriented. For example, you want children and look forward to your wedding day. This may also mean that people your age just may not be ready to settle down, have you thought about dating someone older? I don't mean ancient, but a few years older, look for someone with the same hopes and dreams. I hope that everything works out for the best. Good luck.

Dear Confused,
I just recently got out of a relationship with an over 20 year age difference. I don't think that there is anything wrong with an age difference, based on your personalities. I do not know either of you...but, I am willing to bet that you are more mature for your age because your thoughts tend to go for what is important, ie...church, marriage, and a solid relationship. I would not let the age difference bother you, don't listen to what other people say. Just tell them how you feel about this guy, and they should eventually understand. I hope this helped.

ok so there is a guy that i think is really cute, but i've never met him before. well anyway, my friend's bf is good friends w/ him so she said that us four can all hang out so i can meet him and stuff and they want to hook us up. but i've never met him (just been around him) but i think hes really cute. would that situation be uncomfortable for me or awkward? i know it prob will be but what are some wasy to make it less awkward? or should i just not to do it at all...i know backing out is not the answer but what are some things that'd be fun and how should i act? ive never gone on anything like this!!!! (link)

Okay...I am VERY shy (or I was) but I have "grown" out of it. One of the things to remember is that if he doesn't like you for who you are...then he is not worth your time. Just keep that in mind. But, as in all awkward situaions, there will be periods of silence. During this time...you should ask him about his family, hopes/dreams, and just get him talking and you TRULY listening. This way you will show concern for him and an interest in whatever he is talking about. You may also find that you have more in common than you thought. I hope that this helps.

alright so i'm a guy, and i recently met this girl. and well things between us may have started off too fast. but you can't really undo what's been done. so we had a good thing going, we talked as much as we could, saw each other often, and things were blossoming between us quite well. we'd kissed, hugged, all that stuff, and life was going good. and then she leaves for a couple weeks on a cruise for her cousin's wedding (the cousin was the rich side of the family and paid for the whole family to go) and well we talked as much as we could while she was gone, things seemed to be going great between us. and we were fine. she got back from her trip saturday before this last one. and this is where things started getting lame.
it turns out all the text messaging and stuff we'd done got her a $400 phone bill, and all the offers i gave to help her out she would hear none of. so her parents take her cellphone, and we suddenly lose a major means of communication between us. and as last week went we saw each other once, hardly talked and didn't really do much together. well after the suckage that was last week i decided i had to come up with some way to see her more often one and two give her, her christmas present. so i go to her house this morning, no one's home. that's cool, i wait til the evening and call her house and talk for a few moments but she has to go as her mom needs to use the phone. i call back an hour later (it's 10PM by this time) and i get the it's too late to call thing from her. and that's understandable seeing as people go to bed around then. so i go and check her myspace and find that all the comments i've left her have been deleted, and that she hasn't responded to any of the messages i sent her.
so my question stems from this: could a girl i've been with for about two months lose total interest in me after a week of not talking much? could she be mad at me? am i just pushed out of the picture? what do i do? and how can i get her to realize that we're not gone, we're still on? or do i just take this as a breakup and leave it? she's hanging out with some other guy friend of hers tomorrow during which time we'd have normally hung out and quite frankly i'm pretty pissed about all this. it's like she's not even trying anymore. it's like she's given up on me. what do i do? Well, interesting. I was in a similiar position this my guy this summer. He just stopped doing anything with me. Turns out he was deciding where our relationship was going, and after this "cooling" off period things where better. But...I don't know this girl. I would say that she is mad at you, but it is hard to tell why. You should just try and back off and let her come to you, trust me eventually she will if she truly cares about you. It is VERY tough waiting it out...but, do you think she is worth it? Also, when you do get back together make sure that don't hold the "break" over her head. Don't bring it up all the time, that will just make things worse. Hope that this helps.
