16/f, senior in high school, member of the marching band. Last year, there was a guy not to many people liked in the band, he had the most enormous ego and to me, that made him ugly inside and out. He even told me he wished I would stop breathing, from then on, I hated him. This year, however, he is the drum major and he is so nice. I don't know if he feels he has to because he is the leader of the band but he is also being nicer to me, I feel a little nicer to me than anyone else. Whenever we go from set to set, we do something called "the minus one" and he doesn't start the next set until everyone's doing the minus one, I don't do that, though and he doesn't care, like he lets me slide with things I don't want to do. He also follows me around on the field when we are marching and 80% of the time we are setting on our spots, he comes over to my section to see if we're okay and right. I am a woodwind player and he was a brass player, he should have been helping the brass but he was setting my section instead. I also seemed to have noticed when we are not doing run throughs and he is off the podium down on the field with us, he is near me an awful lot almost critiquing my marching ability. Do you think he is like this because he's the drum major or does he maybe have a thing for me? I don't see how he can be the biggest dousche bag and then change to a complete "charmer" after just a few months. (link)

People can change with just little things,. Like maybe one of his friends snapped on him one day and said smarten up.,
You should give him a chance because people do change.
If you like him or wouldn't mind hanging out with him then ask him.
He does seem like he is a really nice guy now.
Hope this helps:)
