I've been single for about four months... And now I think that I'm ready to start dating again.
My problem is... I don't know where to meet an available guy. I tried bars and clubs in my wilder days, but the 'party' phase is over for me... So that's out. At work, I'm in a position of authority, so that's out. Church is not an option. I'm spiritual but don't tolerate dogma very well. So that's out.
Most of the guys that I have dated in the past, I met via the internet. I've tried Eharmony, Match.com, True.com, Plentyoffish.com, Myspace, and some other dating site that I had never previously heard of before. And I'm sick of internet dating. I receive tons of emails from guys that are inappropriate... Some of the guys that I have met post old photos and then look completely different in person. Some guys are only interested in 'hooking up.' And others... Are either socially awkward or just plain lazy.
Can anyone suggest a good place to meet people that doesn't involve alchol or a computer?

I can give you some tips on where to look, I know you said you are done with the internet but a safe website that has decent people and even people you might know is Facebook.(A website where you can find old friends that you went to High School with or people you know) However, If you have any friends that are woman you could try going out for a social event with her friends and try to meet people that way also. Someone once told me a good place to meet people is the Gym. I don't know if it's actually true but it might be worth the try. ;)
