You're messing with a heart
You're messing with a head
You're pointing fingers at a corpse
I'm sure it already knows it's dead
I think you became so high and mighty
When they stuck you up on that pedestal
I hope it's fun looking down on the rest of us
And don't you stray far from from the things you stole
Be wary not to fall too far
Because you may have to walk with the ones you scold
Breathe easy, and relax on your throne of hypocrisy
Something's tarnished where it was once gold
Maybe curiosity killed the cat
But what the hell has been killing you
Lately, you sure are a sight to look at
Something seems so mortal, you've gone so cold you're turning blue
It wouldn't matter if I started white flame
Or raised a white flag
It dosen't matter who takes the blame
Time still drags and drags
Your pompous mind resembles a gun
Let me learn, I don't need to hold your hand
Try learning some lessons of your own
Because I'm done
What do ya'll think this poem actually means? Also, what would your opinion be on the quality/writing style? I tend to find poetry and not see much meaning in it, so.. Yeah. This stood out for some reason. Help? Ha.
I think it is saying that said person thought that they was all high and mighty. But its not all it is cracked up to be. And its killing them because they want to get down from the "pedistal" in question. (but their could be many other options as well)
i like the way it is written and it is a beautiful poem..
