Hey, My friend is having a tough time convincing her mother she's still a virgin (she's not).. but the problem is that the boy.. well man.. is 24 and she's 16. But, anyway, that's not the issue at stake. She was thinking about telling the gyno that her hymen was broken by a tampon, not a penis. But I'm not even sure if that's possible. Can it be broken by a tampon? Also, can being fingered break it?
Thanks so much
xo
Your friend is going to have to tell the doctor the truth. They are required to keep patient confidentiality by law, so her mother wont find out. However, it's bad hiding things like losing your virginity from mom anyways. But if I was 16 and my boyfriend was 24, I wouldn't want anyone to know we were having sex either. To answer your question though, hymens are very fragile and can be broken easily with a tampon or a finger. What your friend should be worried about is her 24 year old boyfriend getting in trouble with the law for having sex with a child. Well good luck, and I hope things work out for your friend. -Angel
