Long story short, I'm from Los Angeles, went to an amazing school, left the US and moved to the Middle East. I've been backpacking around Europe and the Middle East on and off since August 2013.

im taking photography class son.. do you think they would ask us to buy a camera? good cameras are expensive, right? and how about those black and white cameras? what are some good cameras out there? and price?

You don't mention whether you're looking for film or digital. They do mandate that students buy a camera more often than not.
