Q: I saw your column and thought you were the right person to ask.
There's this guy on myspace that added me like a month ago an messaged me last tuesday.
I'm 16 and going to be a junior and he's 18 and going to be a senior. I don't actually know him, he lives about 20 minutes away but he's really amazingly cute. I had been looking at his page for a bit and when he messaged me I was floored. A boy that cute has never been interested in me in my entire life. We exchanged some random chit-chat and he asked me to go see a movie with him. It took me by suprise, I've had the random guy message me and be a real jerk, but never this. I don't know him so I wouldn't go alone, but I really do want to meet him and get to know him better. I just dont know if he would like me or not. I'm about 2 inches taller than him (I'm 5'8 ish and hes 5'6 ish) and I'm not one of those girls that is really boy clingy or permiscuous(sp?). I've never been kissed, or had a boyfriend. I've been asked out, but no one has ever felt right. So I told him I want to get to know him better and he said that sounded like a good idea, I then sent another message and he never responded. I just gave him my screen name and asked him why he waited so long to message me but he hasn't responded. I know he's seen it, but he has yet to message me back. Even though I hardly know anything about him I just have this gut feeling this is right. I don't want to go chasing after him though. I don't want to be that girl who sends a million messages saying "omg why arent you talking to me???" So how do I get him to come to me? any advice on how to do it without looking a tad bit on the crazy side. I know if he doesnt like me its his loss not mine, I just don't want to wonder forever what may have happened. sorry this was so long, I just wanted you to have all the information you needed. Thank you so much!

I'm glad you gave me all that information. I prefer long, detailed questions to short, confusing ones.
*Promiscuous =)
My thought is honestly that he just hasn't had a chance to get back to you yet. How long has it been since you sent him that last message?
I would wait a little to see if he does get back to you. He might just have been out, or working. I mean, I don't check my myspace or facebook every day, even when I'm waiting for someone to talk to me (but that's me).
If he doesn't respond within a week, I'd send another message, something casual along the lines of "Hey stranger, haven't heard from you in awhile. Just wondering what you're up to, I'm just sitting here kinda bored...hit me back, my screen name's [insert screen name here]."
I doubt he'd think anything of the fact that you sent him your sn twice, (if it's been a week or longer you probably forgot you did it...right? *winkwinknudgenudge*
Anyway, good luck, let me know how it pans out. Don't freak, it'll happen if it's meant to.

I'm a laid-back 26 year old with a Psychology BA, starting my MA program, and working my way into the field as quickly as I can. It took me an extra Bachelor's degree (in vocal performance and creative writing) to figure it out, but I was put on this Earth to help, to heal, and to love.
I have made the decision to dedicate my life and career to helping others. I am here to do just that.
I've been a member since 2004, and since I signed up, I've gone through quite a lot and learned quite a lot from it. I'm here to give guidance where I had none; no one should have to go through the difficulties I went through alone.
Feel free to visit my website/blog, if you want to read my experience with domestic violence and my thoughts on it.

If you need to get a hold of me quickly, my screen name on AIM is SirenCytherea. Just let me know you found me here.
I'm a strong believer in the idea that there are no stupid questions except the ones left unasked, so, please, keep an open mind, heart, and mouth.
