Q: Okay, recently I have started shaving my legs and arm pits with out any soap water or anything and it is working actually really good. The reason I have been doing this is because especially in my arm pits I would get razor burn when I use soap and water or even shaving gel. So one day I read on the internet that someone shaved without any soap or water and it took away the bumps. And when I tried it I immediately saw an improvement under my arm pits and legs. Afterwards I put lotion on my legs and they have been looking great. My question is, is this bad for my skin? And if so, what can I do to reduce razor burn on my legs and especially under my arms? Thanks!
If you have sensitive skin, scented shave gel or soap can cause irritation.
If you like dry shaving, try an electric razor. Those are better for your skin - dry shaving can cause razor burn and damage your skin.
I usually shave in the shower, but if I don't have time and need smooth legs, what I do is go into the bathroom and just splash water on my legs and run my razor over them. No soap, just water. You wanna make sure you use lotion after you shave all the time. Look into Eucerin or Lubriderm if you have sensitive skin. Those are unscented and they work decently well.
You might also try shaving WITH the grain, and then against it. If you don't shave every day, going against the grain probably hurts, especially dry. Also, make sure you're not using a dull razor, as those can help cause razorburn too. If you're using a disposable razor, make sure you change it after every 5 or 6 shave.
Good luck!

I shave against the grain and it doesn't seem to hurt. And I have tried shaving with just water and it is 10 times worse for my skin. I get major skin irritation and razor burn. Thanks for the advice anyways I will take some in mind! :)
