i would take prenatl vitamins. Those are vitamins that pregnant people take, and they make your hair and nails grow a lot faster. my pregnant sister gave me some when i got a bad haircut and i think they worked

if your hair isnt very straight you could also try straightening it to make it appear longer..

ok i know you said you didnt want any websites but really try going here http://www.hairboutique.com/tips/tip214.htm its got some good tips you could try if you dont get much advice....go to the bottom on the page for other hair growing tips, its a good informative site and they're not trying to sell anything.......and this one is a very good site too, http://healthytextures.com/2006/07/09/macherieamours-tips-for-faster-hair-growth.aspx it has 5 very good tips go to all these sites i provided and you will get some more very good advice and no one is trying to sell $60 pamphlets i promise haha
