I'm going to my best friends bat mitzpa. I'm wearing a black dress with a black purse, black open toed shoes, and possibly a little black makeup. Should I wear black stockings? I'm African-American and 5'5. If this helps at all, I have a scar pale scar on my foot, nice toenails, and im not dark at all- im a little darker than chocolate milk but lighter than milk chocolate.

It's always a good idea to wear stockings in a formal situation. It's more sophisticated and proper specially when it is a religious thing. Wear a color that is closer to your skin tone and almost matches. If black matches you then wear black.

Im right in beetween that. i like the fact that u said something different than everyone else. everyone said no stockings and maybe its cuz they had no clue what to say and were stemming from the first answer so thanks!
