Hi Naimee! I read that you know about weight loss, so I have a question. Ok, I know running is great. What about walking? Does walking do as much as running? And if not, would there be a major big difference? Becuase I'm an awful runner........ And one more thing. You lost weight? Well would be feel comfortable telling me about your routines to KEEP off the pounds?
THANKS
All things being equal, you will burn more calories by running an hour than walking an hour. It is true that walking a mile will burn more calories than running a mile -- although it takes longer to do
so. When you run a mile, you're burning mostly sugar, or carbohydrates, which is how your body gives you fast energy in bursts. When you walk a mile, it gives your metabolism time to switch from
burning carbohydrates to burning fat. So, no. Walking is NOT as good as running, but in the same manner, it does help. Depending on how much you weigh is in there too, here's a website to help you out with how many calories would be burnt doing certain activities. http://www.nutristrategy.com/activitylist4.htm
I've kept the same weight for about a month now, and I'm happy with it. The way I do it is, just running 4-6 miles a week. I go to the gym daily, and I still diet. :) Didn't know if you wanted me to actually go into specifics, but if so. Just leave it in the feedback! =]
