Costa Rican Pride!

Hey every1,
This is miSSc and I need some advice about my singing...I can sing, but my vocal range (singing range) is kinda limited and my voice cracks sometimes when I go high. I know most of you will say that I should get voice lessons but...I don't have time for one. I use to take lessons but I had to give up because I started not having time for one. So...got any tips? I want to improve my "chest" voice. The highest note I can hit is a high "C" but I want to go higher with out straining my voice and not cracking either. Please help me!!!!

I sing too! I am singing in the thesbian competition at my school (not lesbian, thesbian) But anyways, you could warm up your voice while you have the radio on in your room, and then try and sing some songs along with your favorite artists. Thats what I do, then I practice my song for thesbians on my tape. Some tips are to
1) Stand up when singing (shoulder with apart) and take deep breaths.
2) Don't force your voice to go high if it can't. My singing teach says it will just ruin your voice more. But go as high as you can take it.
3) Make sure your mouth is "OPEN" if its not open then you cannot sing :)
4) Breath through your nose and (of course the air comes out of your mouth while singing lol)
DO NOT FORCE YOURSELF TO GO HIGHER THAN YOU CAN!
Stinks for me lol, I have braces so my lips stick to my braces when I sing certain keys lol

(Rating: 5) Wow thanx! What you said about the whole "don't force yourself to go higher than you can" but slowly I want to go higher than I can without hurting my voice. Any more tips? But thanks for taking the time and answering my question!
