Q: there's this guy that i've been good friends with since the 2nd grade. but this year we've gotten closer (prob. cause he was dating my best friend for a while) now i seem to be feeling stronger feelings for him. more then friendship. it was a month after i started feeling this way when i told him how i felt. he gave me the "i'd like us to be friends" line. of course, i broke out in tears. and for about two weeks, i cried myself to sleep every night. we still talk normally but idk, i guess i really thought he might actually feel the same. i'm 14/f and i'd like to know what i should do. should i get over him? should i try some things to attract him? -- if so, what? idk...please help me. i'll rate quick!

I think that most males do not like girls to seem overly eager to go out w/them. A lot of guys like a challenge. When you take the challenge out of the equation you take out the reward. Pursue other interest, do your own thing, show him what a great catch you are w/o throwing yourself in his general direction. He will notice, unless he is still hung up on your friend. Also, you may want to make sure your pursuit of this guy is not going to ruin your friendship w/your best friend because guys will come and go but it is hard to maintain real long term friendships especially for girls and mainly because of guys.
