advice
does anyone have any ideas for a simple visual aid for my project on Harriet Tubman for Black History month?? somethign that has to do with the civil war, or preferably the underground railroad.

i think that a map would be a good idea. i did a project on her once, and i can't remember how many trips she took (but it was a BUNCH) so maybe you could draw a map on a piece of poster board and with a red marker, mark the journey that she made. and then be like, "yeah, it would be a big deal to just walk that far once, but harriet tubman did it __ times!"
I accidentally drop my Ipod in the washing machine today while it was running. Thankfully, it was off and on hold, but I haven't tried turning it on yet in case there is moisture in there. What are the chances of it ever being able to work again? Is it possible to just leave it off for a few days and just let it dry out? Or am I basically screwed?
this happened to my phone, except it went for a full spin cycle. the best thing to do is not turn it on. i messed up big time because i turned my phone on as soon as i fished it out of the washer, which basically fried the circuit board. i'd advise you to leave it under a lamp or by a window with sunshine constantly for the next few days (flip it every now and then). then you can try to turn it on. i've never washed my ipod, but it seems like it would have a better chance of recovery than a razr. if i were you, i would just count on being basically screwed because it will be rare if your ipod comes back to life. and if it does then it will be a surprise, haha. blow dryers might help too. anyway, good luck with that.
What does it mean to have "a dry sense of humor"?
hmm, the other answers are not always correct. there are different perceptions of the dry sense of humor. a dry sense of humor means that you are funny to people who have similar senses of humor and understand your jokes, which are occasionally puns, plays on words, and intellectual jokes. when a person with a dry sense of humor, such as myself, says something funny or tells a joke, they almost never laugh. it's just funny in its own way. so while a lot of people frown upon the dry sense of humor, most likely it's just because they can't comprehend it. i have a very dry sense of humor. that doesn't mean i'm uptight- i'm probably one of the most laidback people ever. but i just don't make obnoxious jokes that are stupid. snape from harry potter doesn't have a dry sense of humor. snape just doesn't have any sense of humor. a lot of people mistake a dry sense of humor for having no sense of humor, but that is generally not the case. if somebody tells you that you have a dry sense of humor, they can mean it in a bad way or in a good way. like another columnist said, "your jokes are to litteral(spelling) and it kinda kills the joke". yes, the jokes are generally very literal and it takes somebody who can make that connection in their mind to understand and laugh at it. a person with a dry sense of humor generally makes many allusions to history, so you have to know your stuff to understand what the hell i'm talking about half the time. that's why i hang out with smart people; they understand what i'm talking about.

catholics are christian. christians believe that jesus died for their sins. catholicism is still christianity, but the beliefs are slightly different. you know how there are different kinds of christianity, like baptist, methodist, episcopalian, church of christ, presbyterian, etc.? catholicism is like that. a lot of people think that catholics aren't christians, but they are. a common misconception with catholics is that they "worship mary" but in reality, they worship god. i'm not catholic myself, but i have some friends that are. if you want to know more, wikipedia.org has some good information.

I have really dry hair from dying it and blow drying it every morning. I was wondering if anyone could recommend an affordable shampoo & conditioner (deep conditioner, preferably) that'll help restore my hair AND that'll keep it from fading? (I have platinum blonde hair and currently use Blonde Expressions by Pantene Pro V). Also, I'd like to know a product I can put in my hair after I shower, BEFORE I blow dry my hair that'll make it soft and smooth? Thank you!
i have blonde hair too (mine is natural and darker though) and i use blonde expressions shampoo too. i also use infusium deep conditioner like every other time i wash my hair. i have naturally wavy hair, so every time i get out of the shower i put in some frizz-ease serum, brilliant brunette shine shock serum, and infusium 23 heat activated leave-in conditioner (this stuff is flippin AMAZING). then i blow dry my hair straight. if nothing else, try using infusium products. they work wonders on my hair.

I am a dancer. I've been dancing for 13 years. I do tap, jaz, ballet, pointe, and hip hop.
I'm looking for a song that starts off slow and then speeds up. Then it must end as it began.
Here's my idea:
A duet. My best friend ( a dancer as well ) would sit on the floor as I lay next to her. As if I'm dead and she's mourning. Then when the music picks up, I get up and start dancing, as if becoming a free spirit.
As I dance, she woudl still ermain still, mourning. Then I went the music to become soft again and for her to look up and see me. Then she comes and dances and it becomes a duet.
The slow part at the end would be for getting back into the places where we started at the beginning.
Names of songs and performers woudl be perfect. There doesn't have to be any lyrics to the song but there can be.

i'm not quite sure if this song will fit the "mood" of mourning or whatever, but my best friend is doing a dance/twirl routine to "every time we touch" (sorry, don't know who it's by) and it's really cool because certain parts of it are slow and the rest is fast. the beginning is slow, so she's on the floor and gets up and does some cool ballet stuff and then picks up her baton for the fast parts.

ok i have been wanting to lose wait so since before christmas i have been eating one meal a day with various snacks. I am 13 years old and got my period in october for the first time. I havent had it since christmas. Does that mean i have Amenorrhoea ? is there any way i can get it back ? if i continue to eat 1 meal a day will it get worse ?? help !!
your period stopped coming because you stopped eating. anorexics quit having periods too, you know. i'd strongly advise you to START EATING NORMALLY. you are thirteen, not thirty. you are a child. you are still growing and still going through puberty. yes, you will gain weight but that is NORMAL. one meal a day, even if you are overweight is not healthy at all. so if you want to lose weight, do a little more research. because your stomach could be digesting your muscles right now and you wouldn't even know it. i am 15/f and when i was 13 i thought, "omg i am so fat" or whatever because in one year i gained like ten pounds. but guess what? after i gained ten pounds, i quit gaining weight. and now i'm at a healthy weight. honestly, i've been wearing the same size clothing for three years. so if you think you're fat, you're not: it will balance out later, i swear.

i don't really know if you're a girl or a guy, but if i were you i would wear nicer pants (like khakis or something) and for guys: a button-up shirt and for girls: a nice, cute top (button-up will work here too). i'd wear nicer pants to the interview (and a nice shirt), and once you get the job you can probably wear jeans. not really sunday clothes, but nice-casual.
On piczo whne you type they give you some choices of font. Well, they suck. And there's this code something like

it's actually: Type whatever you want here it will work for your computer, but since probably nobody has that font on their computers, it will show up as times new roman or arial (default). it's best to stick with a generic microsoft font when doing webpages so that most people will be able to view that font.
how do i get them copyrighted?
you don't have to apply to get stuff copyrighted- if it's yours and you wrote it (which you did) then it is automatically copyrighted. that way, the artist is protected because nobody else can steal their work, no matter what it is. and if you post it on the internet or get it published in a book, it's still copyrighted.
Lately my three brothers and I keep getting sick. And my parents to. Honestly it's kind of annoying me. Between my bros and I, we have either come home sick or have been sick from school on the last 9 school days. That's kinda sad. This weekend we were all getting sick, including my dad. My brothers are on round two of strep, and I got it about two weeks ago. I've had bronchitis that I can't seem to get rid of after 2 doctor visits in the last 2 weeks, including a chest x-ray. Is there anyway to avoid getting sick and get better sooner?
i've been sick recently, too. here's what helps me get better:
wash hands frequently
take vitamins
drink orange juice
go to bed relatively early
keep things like television remote, laptop keys, ipod, cell phone, etc. sanitized
don't hang around sick people (i know you can't help it if they're your family, but i mean like at school)
also, try to get more fresh air. this is going to sound dumb, but people don't get sick from being outside. they get sick from being inside so much. people get sick more in the winter because they're scared of getting sick by being outside, so they stay inside. i mean, don't camp out in your backyard or anything, but try to go on a walk every now and then. make sure you eat relatively healthy stuff and you should get better soon.
What age did you start wearing deodorent. just curiousity because my son is 10 and i never really have time to figure out if he needs it cause hes always at school then baseball and he comes home and runs right to the shower. Thanks in advance!
i'm a girl, and i started wearing deodorant in 5th grade. i played softball then too. i didn't really need to, but my mom let me because i was paranoid about it. i think probably 5th or 6th grade is good. it's never too early to start, though.

hmm, i think you have to enter credit card information because when you use gift cards, it credits the money to your credit card. there should be an option on there for "use gift cards only" or something. that's what my best friend does. but even if you're not going to use a credit card, i think you still have to enter information for one. to my understanding. if you're really against that, you can always just enter random numbers and stuff and it shouldn't matter because the credit card wouldn't be charged anyway. but i don't think there's a way to get around having to enter that info.

his crotch has nothing to do with the joke. he said "high five!" so the other person would put their hand up. then he put his hand down and said "who's gay?" so that it would look like the other person raised their hand. so he was trying to make it look like the person who raised their hand admitted to being gay. it's only funny for about five seconds though. after that it's just queer.
