I think I just got a headache from reading that post below me.
Well, I tend to be a little idealistic with these things but I like to believe that Catholicism is just another denomination of Christianity, like Baptist or Methodist or Presbyterian or something. They have a lot of practices and traditions that aren't found in other areas of Christianity. Christians as a whole just need to believe the core concept that salvation is attained by baptism and accepting God as your savior, and whatever else they do is up to them. A lot of churchy people that I talk to get so wrapped up in denominations and who is better or more legitimate than who, and frankly, it's a bunch of crap. We just need to be tolerant of each other and our practices and live within the body of Christ and let our similarities unify us rather than get all wrapped up in our differences.
Whew I didn't mean for that to turn into a sermon. Well that's my answer. :) ]
basically, catholics believe that the pope is the end all authority on earth, and is infalible in interpretations of the bible. other than that and some other minor differences, catholics and christians are the same ]
Well I am a Catholic & I'm proud!
But anyway...
Catholics are Christians but like the person below me said, the beliefs are slightly different in some ways. Catholics ONLY worship God, & God only! Briefly, Christian people DO believe that Jesus died for our sins, but it sort of depends, some Christians may worship Jesus & someone else, or not. Well I'm only 13 so I can't tell you EVERYTHING about the Catholic/Christian religion, but don't google anything or look at peoples' blogs. Most likely, people will either make something up out of vengeance or just for fun. And I'm not like bashing the person below me or anything-sorry if it seems like I am! But wikipedia hears a story-they exxagerate the story-then they even add a couple lies to spice it up a little. (From what I've heard) So good luck,
Hope I helped.

catholics are christian. christians believe that jesus died for their sins. catholicism is still christianity, but the beliefs are slightly different. you know how there are different kinds of christianity, like baptist, methodist, episcopalian, church of christ, presbyterian, etc.? catholicism is like that. a lot of people think that catholics aren't christians, but they are. a common misconception with catholics is that they "worship mary" but in reality, they worship god. i'm not catholic myself, but i have some friends that are. if you want to know more, wikipedia.org has some good information. ]
