k so i want to dye my tips of my hair or underneath my hair purple (semi-permanent, only for the summer). my mom offered to do it with those at-home applyers. but is it better to get it professionally done in the salon?
and any tips i should know before i dye my hair at home ? (if i do dye it at home,that is)

Before you ever dye it, you will need to bleach it.
As said before, the more bleached out your hair the brighter the color.
But I'm not suggesting you to bleach your hair three times in a row in one day.
/DON'T/ do that. You'll kill your hair.
But if your mom knows what she's doing ((With bleach and dye)) then it should turn out fine.
For me, I had to go to the salon to get my hair bleached and dyed blue. Because I wasn't chancing ruining it.
But if you ((And your mom)) know what you're doing, then go for it at home. It'll definitely be a lot less cheaper.
But I WILL suggest a dye for you.
Special Effects.
It's amazing. I've ONLY heard good reviews for it. Everyone I know that's used it ((And that's a lot)) love it and will never use another dye.
And, from personal experience, the colors turn our bright, and are amazing.
And it's a semi-permanent dye. And there are a few different colors of purples for you to choose, or if you want to do a different color, they have all types.
Even though you didn't ask about dyes, I just thought I'd recommend it.

extremely pathetic but also extremely annoying! There is 9 on us in our group at school, and lately i feel as though know one could really care less wether i was there or not half the time i am just tagging along trying to include myself in the conversation. No one shares there 'gossip' with me or makes conversation with me. I feel like a total outcast it can be embarassing aswell when people are looking at me its like haha she hasnt got anyone to talk to what a loser, our 'group' is quit popular aswell which is annoying. My so caleld best friend dosnt even talk ro me very much anymore is like they all moved on or something they are never themselfs and are always so obsessive other boys and really in love with themself. Shes always mixing with everyone aswell everyone else has a close friend but she is so close to everyone which makes me jelous i wish i could be close to everyone and they would tell me anything but know it always has to be her the centre o attention 24/7!!!!!!!!! Last year, I went through the same exact thing.
And the easiest solution, find better friends.
I used to hang out with the "cool" group, and at first it was all fine and great. Then I was the 'different' one of the group, following them, was never included in the conversations, etc.
So eventually, I stopped hanging out with them.
I found myself some real friends. The people I hang out with now never once judged me, always included me, and are some of the nicest people. All I had to do was look for some good friends. If they're not the coolest girls in school, so be it. I know my friends aren't, and I'm not either. I'm fine with that.
Unlike those cool girls, I know for a fact I have true friends.
Nobody deserves a fake friend. No matter how popular these people are, they don't deserve you as a friend if they treat you like that. If they don't care if you're there or not, just leave. You don't deserve to be treated like that, so don't let it happen.
My advice is just go and find better friends. I gurantee, once you do, you will be much happier.

I love going to concerts and I'm looking for advice on who to see. What bands/artists are just phenomenal live? I'd prefer that if you answer, you have actually seen them live, but testimonials from others are fine. I like pretty much any type of music. Thanks!

Wednesday 13, without a doubt.
They usually play at small clubs, you can stand wherever you want, right close up by the stage.
They're very entertaining live.
They sound great.
But they don't appeal to everyone. But if you like the sorta 'hard rock' music, then you'd probably like them.
Their songs are just about monsters, zombies, and just plain horror stuff, usually.
And I've seen them live, so I'm speaking from experience.
And after almost every show, the entire band comes out and talks to the fans. And they're some of the nicest people. ^_^
And also; Marilyn Manson.
I know not everyone likes Manson, but he's definitely a showman. Puts on a fantastic show, speaking from experience and also seeing many videos and talking to other fans that have seen them live.

HI. im a teen and i get pimples like most people. i use proactive but if i use anything else, my face becomes really dry and starts to flake. i get more pimples around "my time". im a teen so i dont like pimples, especially in high school. i am going to the dermatologist in about 2 weeks for the first time.i sometimes get them on my neck to, sometimes. i was wondering if anyone has any suggestions about what to do or anything i should know about what to expect when i go to the dermatologist. or any solutions until then. thank you who ever can help me! I've been suffering with acne for a while now, but after going to a dermatologist it all cleared up. They gave me a gel, cleanser, and a pill. And they cleared up my face, the only problem is that they dry your face out.
A lot. So I'd use it every other day, definitely. But my dermatologist also told me, if your face is cleared up and you don't feel like taking the pill at that time then it'd be okay. But he said if you know when you're going to get your period and you don't want to get pimples around that time, start taking the pill a week before and it helps to prevent pimples. And it works. :] So the most I can say is, just wait for the dermatologist.
I've tried everything and the only thing that worked was the dermatologist.

i want to go to get my ears pierced again, just third holes. Well do i have to have a parent come with me to sign something? or can my sister just do it (shes 19). Im 17, do i need a parent signature at all?

Well, down here in California, at least the city I live in, you have to be 18 or older to get it done by yourself.
And when they say 18 they mean 18.
It says if you're any younger bring a parent or guardian with you.
So I'm sure it'd be fine if you just bring your sister.

so i just got back from vacation and i got too much sun. i ended up burning petty bad and its started to peel. i have ugly blotches were the skin has peeled, so some skin is darker then other skin. is there any way to help fix it?? (link)

ALOE VERA!
I'm serious.
You can order it somewhere online, sorry I don't remember the exact name of the website.
But the stuff is amazing.
I went to Mexico for Spring Break, and I got horrible Sunburn.
To the point where I had blisters, etc.
After using it all day, re-applying every two hours or so, the next day the blisters were gone.
The only other thing I had to worry about was all the peeling.
So I used neosporin because it helps "heal things faster", you know?
Anyways, within two days A LOT of the peeling was gone.
And after three days I couldn't spot any peeling.
So use Aloe Vera for a while, and then for the peeling and stuff ((once you're done using Aloe Vera)) I recommend neosporin.

Depends how close you were.
Last concert I went to, I was /right/ next to the speakers.
Without ear plugs and all that, nothing.
I know, not the brightest idea.
But anyway, after that concert I had ringing in my ears for a good week.
Slowly, it started getting quiet.
But after a week it was gone completely.
So if you were right next to the speakers, or just close to them it shouldn't be anything to worry about.
If you were not close at all, then maybe get that checked out.

I have naturally super straight hair and I usually just leave it like that and I'm starting to get bored of it. So what are some hair styles that are easy to do, isn't too time-consuming, and wouldn't need too much hair products? And also whats an easy and fast way to get wavy hair? To get easy and fast wavy hair:
French braid your hair before you go to bed and when you wake up in the morning and take it out it'll be wavy.
That's what I would do as a kid and it always worked. :]

I really really really really REALLY want to dye my hair. right now its a blonde/brown and I want it to be a medium brown. but my mom does not approve of this. I dyed my hair before but it was a semi permanent and my mom still was freaking out. (she says if i keep dying my hair it will all fall out and you have to keep redying it because of the roots) I don't care because thats how much i hate my hair color. My friend and i are planning on going to the salon on wednesday and my mom doesn't know about this.
I need advice on if this is a good idea or not. should i dye my hair behind my moms back? its not even a big dramatic change. its just like 2 shades different. If i do dye my hair, i am going to get it permanent. good idea or bad idea? thanks! (link)

It's not the best idea to dye your hair behind your mom's back.
But if you honestly REALLY want to, the most you'll get is just a punishment, probably.
But sure, you will have to keep dying you hair.
But I know people that have been dying and bleaching their hair for 10 years and up and they STILL have a full head of hair.
Just deep condition it.
And you won't have to bleach out your hair for the color you want, so you won't damage it too much.
But deep conditioning it works wonders and only touch it up when you need to.

It could be hormones.
Or she just could be a moody person.
Something might be going on that is making her have all these moodswings.
Maybe try talking to her?
That usually helps.

i have braces and just got rubber bands in a few days ago, but my gums are now dark red and hurt. could i be allergic to the rubber bands ?

I have braces and I had the same problem when I got the rubber bands.
My orthodontist just said that since I just got them on, it could be a little irritated by them but that it'll get used to them.
Also, you should remember to floss your teeth everyday.
That was a big problem for me, because when I didn't my gums would get very red and inflamed.
So brush your teeth after every meal, floss every day, and just wait a while and it should get better.

I went to a dermatologist. It's the only thing that worked for me.
I tried EVERYTHING. Creams, facewashes, even toothpaste, like the girl before mentioned.
The only thing that worked was the prescription cleanser and creams/gels.
At first, when using it, your face may start somewhat peeling or get worse.
But by a week, it should look MUCH, much better.

The great thing about thrift shops is that usually, if you get something from there almost nobody will have the same thing as you. :]

I straighten my hair with a iron every morning because my hair is naturally curly and I can't anything with it. I've been Straightening it for almost a year. Now, my hair is dry, brittle, fried and i have split ends! I put hair stuff on it before i straighten it but it doesnt seem to work. Does anyone have any suggestions on what i should use to fix it or to put on it before i staighten it. Am i going to have to stop straightening my hair??? (link)

Well, about the split ends, you should get those trimmed off, because if you don't they'll just get worse.
As for the straightening, maybe stop straightening for a little while.
Use a really good conditioner and it should repair your hair.
Once you feel it's back to normal, and you want to straighten your hair, maybe just straighten it every other day.
Not every day.
Also, whenever I straighten my hair I first put in Redken Thickening Lotion and then Redken Smooth Down Heat Glide.
And they work great, for me and help protect my hair. Hope I helped! :]
