Hi, my name is Katie and I'm 15 years old. In those fifteen years I've literally been through more than most people go through in their entire life. I absolutely love helping people, and I've been told by many people that I'm good at it. I'll definitely love to give you advice, but I'm telling you right now I will say what I think, I'm not going to sugar coat everything or tell you what you want to hear just so you'll give me good ratings. So if you have any questions, about anything at all, just ask away, I'd be more than happy to help =]

my boyfriend is coming over this weekend.
my parents are going to be home.. they would never leave me alone with him. how can i like do stuff with him with my parents home? like what if they walk in or something? like i doubt they will let me go in my room with him.. maybe to go on the computer.. but theres no lock on my door. they might possibly have to pick up my brother somewhere or go out to take my dog on a walk.. so maybe then. also.. what are some things that guys like girls to do to them besides like make out hj or bj or sex. thanks (link)
If your parents are going to be home then you shouldn't do more than a quick kiss in front of them, if you think they could handle even that.
Even if they do go out of the room/house for a bit, I wouldn't do anything you wouldn't want them to see, you never know when they could walk back in.
As for the second part of your question, you guy just wants to be with you. Let him hold you, or hold hands with him. Whisper in his ear and kiss his cheek.
Good luck this weekend.

ok so im gonna get my cartilage pierced at Claires tomorro for my birthday..They pierces it with a gun and i heard that bad..but how bad is it what will happen if its done with a gun?? (link)
The professionals at Claire's are very nice and save, you are in good hands. The gun is used at basically every ear placing shop you go to.. so that the piercing is quick and almost completely painless.
When I had my cartliage done I was so scared it was going to hurt. I was shaking so bad that they had to wait until I calmed down to pierce it!! But when I closed my eyes she clicked the gun and that was it. I hardly felt it! It was a very, very tiny pinch and it was over and done with. No problem.
I actually felt a little stupid that I had made such a big deal of it!
So don't worry, you'll be fine! The gun is just used to make the piercing go fast and be painless.

is eating snow okay if the snow is untouched and clean? (link)
Yes, it`s completely fine.
It`s only water.

that you have no classes with, barley see, and how do you make a girl laugh? and please dont say tell a story or something it doesn't work. (link)
I love when guys tell me my hair looks good, or that I or my hair smells nice. Girls put a ton of time into their appearence, so compliment her!
Also, when you see her be sure to say hi, ask her how her day was.
Girls open up pretty easily I think you'll find.

does proactiv really work? i saw a commercial for this other stuff called murad or something and its like proactiv but i heard it works better then proactiv. i want to buy one of them but i dont know which one really works.any advice? (link)
ProActiv is okay. On a scale of 1 - 10, I'd give it a 6. It didn't make all of my acne go away, but it got rid of the redness and the little bumps on my forehead, so that's really cool.
It's expensive though! So I'd say get the trial adn see if it works for you, if it doesn't then don't order it again, but if you like it then great!

Good luck.

I have straight, long, and layered hair. I have no bangs. Can someone give me ideas on what to do with my hair, like a different style for each day of the week. Thanks! But don't suggest scrunching unless you have good tips because my hair is too straight to be scrunched, it would only stay scrunched for like an hour. (link)
Okay so I searched for hair ideas at seventeen.com and it gave me a ton of cool stuff.
There are literall hundreds of hairstyles to try.
Hope you find something you like.

You know when you wear a strapless dress and liek there's extra skin like near the armpit area sticking out? It wrecks the whole thing! any workouts to get rid of it? (link)
Try lifting the small weights [3 pounders] above your head. Hold them in your hands and put your arms straight down beside you, then raise your arms out and above your head as if you were going to do a jumping jack.
This will definitely help.

what classes should i take in high school to prepare me for a career in loss prevention? (link)
I'm not sure what loss prevention is, but I know choosing classes can be hard.
You have your core courses: math, social studies, science, and english. If you've ever been in advanced classes I suggest Honors classes in high school. But only one or two, don't overload yourself the first year, that's a big mistake.
Talk to your parents and school counselor about what courses you should take, they will definitely help alot more than I can.
Good luck in high school!

I really want to lose weight but i'm just way too lazy to do anything and i don't know if i could really commit if i start. So how do i get my lazy butt of this computer chair and start toning up? And does anyone have some exercise tips like say do 10 push ups today and add 10 more the next day? Thanks! (link)
Well from what you've said it sounds like you are like most of us. You want results but you don't want to do anything to get them or you just don't know where to start.
First of all, start out small. Nobody expects you to start running marathons tomorrow. Start by doing ten pushups and sit ups a night.. or if that's too much then do five. Just as much as you can handle. Start out small. Walks after dinner are a great way to burn off calories. Go with a friend, family member or even the dog would appreciate a walk with you.
Second of all, goals goals goals!! I cannot emphasize goal setting enough. Setting small, reachable goals THAT ARE REALISTIC help to keep you from quitting or saying 'this is stupid'. Set weekly or monthly goals. Like 'I want to be able to slowly jog 1/2 a mile without stopping by March 1st'. Work towards that goal by walking/jogging everyday. Increase the legnth of your jogs when it gets easy for you.
Working out with your favorite music is fun too.
Good luck!!

Suggest having a party before/after you leave for the Bahamas.
Have fun and happy sweet sixteen!!

I have a younger brother who is 13 & I'm a 16 year old girl. I'd like to be closer to him or at least really get to know him. We fought when we were younger & I tend to put him down a lot. We rarely talk now... or see each other. We're both on the computer in our rooms all the time. He likes to play video games & I'm not good at them. It's like we have nothing in common besides our last name.

I don't want to be a bad influence on him though... He makes jokes about weed/etc because it's the cool thing with his friends. I know he doesn't do it. I, on the other hand, have made some not so great choices. He doesn't know I have but still I don't want that to rub off on him... I want better for him.

Anyway, I'd really like to be able to hang with him & just be a better sister than I have been. My boyfriend plays video games with his little brother but I honestly don't know what to do with mine. Any ideas? Thanks in advanced! (link)
Well definitely try to find something in common! My little brother is 12 and I am 15, we have gotten so close over the last year! We play pool together alot, it's our thing really. We listen to the same music together. He's really a great friend, I consider him a friend, as well as my brother.

Try to find something you both like that you can do together and claim as 'your thing'. Ask him about his day, about his girlfriend. Just talk to him about your day, ask him for help studying or something. [Mine helps me with Spanish].

Good luck, and I admire you for trying to get close to your brother, not many sisters do. You are a great person!!

14/f.

My boyfriend is 16/m.

Ok; my boyfriend and I have talked it over, and we are ready to have sex. I don't want to go into too many details, because that's not what this question is asking. I was wondering what pre-cautions we could take to not get me pregnate.[sp?] Like, if he gets off, should we change the condom? It's both our first time and I am very nervous. He dosen't seem to be, but I was just wondering.

p.s. Birth control isn't an option. (link)
I'm surprised with the last answer you got! Definitely DO NOT do the 'pull out' method! You can still get pregnant!!
If you want to be safest then USE A CONDOM.
Good luck and be safe.

Hey. My field hockey season ends on February 4th. Softball tournaments start around the mid/end of April. If I get my cartilage pierced after field hockey, do you think it will be okay if i have to take it out for 5 hours every weekend for softball in April? Thank you! (link)
Ehh, you'd be pushing it a little close there. The time frame your looking at is a little less that two months. You are supposed to leave the earring in for one to two months. But I suppose if it's only for those five hours and you put it right back in after the game/practice you'd be fine.

i have the cutest little shoes...... theyre the ballet flats. theyre black so id like to wear them a lot but i cant because they make my feet sweat so they give me foot odor. theyre kinda delicate but should i try washing them? if so with what? if not what else should i do; is there anything i cant put in the to make it stop. thnx. (link)
Get socks! They make specially cut socks for ballet flats. You can't see them when you wear the shoes, but the socks keep your feet from sweating and that means so smelly shoes.

i really want to do something different to my hair beside straightening it EVERYDAY!
but i was wondering if anyone knows how mary kate and ashley olsen get there hair to do this
http://pub.tv2.no/multimedia/slideshow/88561/7.jpg
help?! (link)
Well, it looks like all she's done there is scrunch her hair and pull her bangs back with a clip or hair bow.
To do this buy some scrunching gel and follow the directions on the back of the bottle to scrunch your hair.
Then take the pieces around your face and pull them around [but not over] the top of your head. Clip it or put a hair ribbon around it.
Spray your hair with hair spray to get it to stay all day.

I want to go counciling but I'm not sure of how because
1. I have no idea where one even is
2. I don't know which kind because I can go to so many differnet ones, anger, theripist, family
3. the BIG ONE is that I don't want my family to know. for sure they won't let me go and they'll say "why you need to go?! just tell us if you have a problem!" not in a comforting way because my parents are very mean and stuff and if i tell them about my problems then they won't make it better or comfort me. they'll just yell at me and call me stupid.
any ideas? (link)
Well, for your first two questions you can search the internet for local counceling places near to you and choose one that you like the best.
For your third question, if you aren't ready to tell your parents you'd like to see a therapist then try writing your feelings out in a diary, or on here. For diaries, I use www.diaryland.com
It's a great online diary which you can set to private so only you can read it.
When the time comes that you do want to tell your parents then just be straight on the facts with them. Believe me, I know how hard it is to tell judgemental parents something like this, I wanted to ask mine to take me to a therapist, but I never got the courage up to do it. So good luck!
I hope everything works out.

For girls: if a girl has a pimple do other girls notice? if like she has many pimples but they're all on like..you know when you have a pimple and its clearing up but not totally because there's like a red cirle there but you can't feel anything when you touch it? well what if your face was liek that but you have a HUGE pimple, do other girls notice? Do they go OH MY GOD LOOK AT THAT? (link)
Well, yes, they notice. But I don't think anyone will be thinking "Oh my God, look at that!".

okay so my best friend likes this guy annd in all of hger texts it all talks about giving him head where shes gonna blah blah blah and she gave her ex-boyfriend head last weekend[they WERE going out]and then dumped him and now all she talks about is that and said she feels like a slut.wtf (link)
Well you friend is obviously having a rough time accepting the fact that she would do something like this for a guy. She's feeling bad about it now that she thinks back on it and is being hard on herself for it now.
The best thing you can do is be there for her and tell her that she made a mistake, but she's not a slut.

-Katie

Ok! So my friend liked this guy(let's call him Edward)first. She liked him first and EDWARD asked her out first, but she didn't say anything because she didn't like him. Now I like him because we spend a lot of time with eachother. Now she likes him again and I'm not sure if he still likes her. What should I do. Please answer soon! (link)
Well Edward is going to choose who he wants, no matter how much either of you like him. So when he does choose you and your friend should be supportive of each other and happy for whoever he chooses. Don't lose a friendship over a guy, it's never worth it!
Good luck with this!

-Katie

ok well recently one of my best friends max just transferred schools...a couple days ago so that day at school when i found out i was crying hysterically...i cried 3 times that day and cried again twice the next day and again the next night and i know i will continue with this. i think i might be depressed. im sad all the time and i have a lot of back pain which they say is a symptom. on google i looked up symptoms of depression and i have all but one and they listed about 15-18. im constantly thinking about max now that he left and i really need help! i dont know how to talk to my parents because i act like im happy and you'd never guess i was depressed if u saw me around people. if i try to tell them theyll be like..."ohh honey youre not depressed if you were you'd be acting like ____" when while they arent around im acting like that. they wouldnt get me medicine without knowing the cause and its really embarassing to say "well because max transferred" and theyll be like "oh its just a phase it will pass" but they dont know how i felt about him even though im only 13/f and have only known him for about 4+ months. what do i do? (link)
Okay, just remember that just because Max transfered schools doesn't mean you two can't still keep in touch! Call, email, write letters, whatever you want to do. You can still talk, but yes it will be harder, but not impossible. I hope that makes you feel better.
If you really think you have depression you need to bring it up with your parents, even if you don't think they will believe you. If you've been having any disturbing thoughts tell them about it, I'm sure out of their love and concern for you and your mental health they will take you to see a doctor and get some medicine to help you through all of this.
I wish you the best of luck, and remember that writing your feelings out in a journal or talking to someone always helps!
