First I would like to point out that I'm not as ghostly white as my picture looks. I actually have a really nice tan. :)
Hey, I just read this for the first time in a long time and I realized I sounded like a complete female Rainman. Anyway, I'm pretty much amazing, haha. I love to help people out with minor or major problems, so you ask me anything and I will answer it to the best of my ability! My favorite topics to give advice on are DEBATE, FRIENDS, POLITICS, MUSIC, and SPORTS (a recent thing!). I'm a typical Texas (college) football fan. That's pretty much it, so get to asking questions and stop reading this! :)

is it possible that if i excercise a lot my shoe size can get smaller? im a size 8.5 or 9 (please dont say that my shoe size is right or normal, i want a smaller foot) and i would like to get to a size 6 or 7 if its possible. but if not, are there any other ways to get a smaller foot besides surgery? thanks! (link)
|
if you lose a lot of weight your feet will shrink. It happened to me! My feet shrank from a 9 to an 8. I lost 10 lbs and only went down a shoe size so you would have to lose more if you wanted a size 6 or 7.

Hey I saw you answer someone elses question about gauging so I was wondering...
I had 10ga's in the 2nd hole of both of my ears, I bought some 8ga plugs and it went in my right ear no problem...
but for the life of me I can't get it to go into my left ear.
It looks kind of dumb with an 8 in my right ear and a 10 in my left.
Any idea why my ears are being so different from each other? (link)
|
since it's your second hole, it might be too close to the cartilage. The holes could be a little off from each other (the left higher than the right). It's not uncommon for the holes to be off, it's usually not noticable but since you're gauging them it could be a problem. Just try to push it through again and if it doesn't go, get it professionally done at your local tattoo parlor. You could also buy a taper.

my house is usually pretty cool, which isnt good for my parakeet. he shivers a lot whenever hes out of his cage. i keep the top of his cage covered with a towel to keep him warm, but what else can i do to keep him warm?
thanks (link)
|
you could always put him in the oven or microwave.. haha just kidding. I used to have parakeets and I kept a small heat lamp close to their cage. Just keep him covered and put the heat lamp next to his cage. Don't put it too close that it burns him but close enough he's cozy. (and make sure it's not TOO hot)

Tattoo--
I want to get a semi small tattoo of a dove on my foot but just the outlining not colored in. How painful is it? I'm very good with pain I've gotton my daith, conch, and belly button pierced before and i'm wondering how it is on comparison.
Gauges--
I have regular holes in my ear done with the gun years ago but I really want to get gauges, small ones. I want to get a tiny one so that I can still wear some of my earings like hoop like ones without having big holes in my ears. I don't like it when they are larger than even my pinkie so what is the smallest size??? How to the stretch you ear??? (link)
|
Tattoo-
The pain can't be compared to a piercing. It's MUCH different. It's just like scratching a safety pin many, many times across your skin. It doesn't hurt, it's just uncomfortable. If it hits your bone it might hurt a bit, but other than that you should be fine! Good luck with it :D and don't forget to take care of it and don't pick at the scabs or you'll get a nasty scar.
Gauges-
You can slowly gauge your ears with certain types of earrings, which can be found online at www.hottopic.com. If you don't want to slowly gauge it then you can just shove a bigger gauge through your ear. If I were you I would do it slowly. I tried to shove an 8 through a 12 and a chunk of my ear came out, it wasn't pretty. Just gauge your ears up to a 16 or a 14 (the size of a tongue or belly ring) and you should be fine. You could also take a doll needle (a big sewing needle) and put it through your ear, they're usually a 16 gauge.
If you have any more questions about piercings or tattoos then feel free to ask me :)

My little sister has bubble gum in her hair! How do I get it out? Help...soap and water doesn't work... (link)
|
get ice cubes and rub it on the gum until the gum becomes hard. It should be easier to get out then. If that doesn't work, try butter. If that still doesn't work... then you're going to have to cut it out.

I wasn't sure what category to put this in, but I suppose this one will do.
Last night my cousin pierced my lip, and yes - I had permission. But I've been wondering what I should do now. She explained to me what she did, which I understand.
The stud I have in now is actually an extremely uncomfortable earring - but it's what we put in when we pulled the needle/string through my lip.

Does anyone have any cleaning tips?
Any preferences towards what kind of ring I should get?
Any information they'd like to share at all?
Here's what it looks like now...

Ever hear of the "cheese grater effect?" If not, then let me tell you about it. When you get facial piercings (such as the tongue, lip, monroe, medusa, etc.) you need to have a certain gauge. You need atleast a 16 gauge. A regular earring is- 1. not the right gauge and- 2. not made out of the right material. Okay, so now to the cheese grater effect. It's when you put a regular earring in a piercing and over time it cuts, yes CUTS, through the skin, causing a huge, ugly scar (did I mention it's excruciatingly painful?). Your mouth will not only reject this piercing, but you can also get a serious infection. If you REALLY want this lip piercing I suggest you, right now, find a piece of jewelry made out of SURGICAL STEEL or something along those lines and disinfect it. If you don't, in a few days you will have an infection and it will, also, be extremely painful. You should take the earring out and wait for it to heal (which, by the way, if you don't put neosporin directly on it after you take it out, it WILL scar) then go get it done by a professional. Also, if you decide to keep it in and the gauge it the pain will be unbearable even if you have a high pain tolerance, trust me, I know from experience (tried to gauge mine from a 16 to a 14 and I was on my knees, crying, because it hurt so bad, and I love pain!). Aside from all of the pain and infections, anything you put in it will rub against your teeth and wear down the enamel on them. My uncle makes dentures and he says the majority of the dentures he makes are for people who have piercings in or around their mouth.
Take everything I've said to heart, and if you still want to keep the piercing, then clean it with UNscented anti-bacterial soap. You can also clean it with sea salt. Just put a bit in a small cup with water, warm it up in the microwave, wait for the crystals to dissolve, and then hold the cup around your mouth and let the water sit on the piercing for 2 min. Oh and DO NOT forget to mouth wash (listerine is best!) for 30 FULL seconds after EVERY meal, when you wake up, and before you go to sleep.
Good luck with your piercing!

I stumbled across this site by accident. I seriously doubt many of you have the qualifications to give real people proper advice. After reading some of your responses to people's inquiries i was quite astonished as to how teenagers find they are able to give quality advice and information to real people in need with such little life experience. If you ask me you are not in a place to give your "personal opinion" when people truly believe you are giving them the right answer simply because you claim "people think i give really good advice". (eg. i am still at a loss as to how a 17 year old girl thinks she can give advice to someone regarding conceiving a child) I know you try to come across as a "godsend" to poeple who are in some sort of personal crisis and need a fast easy answer but the truth is, in the cases where it really counts, there rarely is one; at least not from you. (link)
|
Sometimes an opinion from a "17 year old girl" is what someone needs. Most of the questions are asked by teens and they need to be answered by teens. Professionals don't know everything and some of them don't understand teenage problems. I used to go to a shrink and she didn't understand my problems fully. People my age did, though. When I have problems, I go to people my age who are experiencing the same things I am. Sometimes I go to my mom since she's been through everything I'm going through. Sometimes people just need a second opinion.
By the way, I know you can only ask a question when you make an account. So if this site is such bogus and nobody can use our advice, why did you make one?

I'm looking into getting a clear nose retainer. So I'll be able to hide my nose piercing. Does anyone know where I'd be able to find them? Please give specific store names. & Don't say Wal-mart or Target, because you CAN'T get them there. :]
Thanks. (link)

I have a dark spot of discoloration in my breast cleavage, closer to my left breast. It sometimes blends into the rest of my skin and only the outline of it is darker, so it looks like a ring but when you look closer, the skin inside is a little darker.
It appeared about a few years ago as a slight spot and it grew a little bigger and darker until it was the size of a penny and it's been like that for the past year.
When I scratch it, it scratches off like it's going to come off but when I shower, it's back again.
Any idea what this could be? I've googled it but can't find anything close. (link)
|
It could be sunspots. I have the same thing but they are lighter than my skin. Go to your doctor and ask him about it. My doctor recommended using Selsun Blue on the spots and exposing them to the sun (made by the sun, killed by the sun) and he gave me a perscription cream (I have no idea what it's called) and it really works for me. The only problem is, you have to put the cream on them EVERY day and it becomes a bit of a hassle.

I have used Secret, Dove, Suave, Mitchum, and some men's deoderent but nothing works!! I sweat all over my clothes, but only on the underarm part, and it is embarrasing. I don't use deodarent at nite because I don't know what to use. Any advice would be SO greatly appreciated. (link)

Either use Certain-Dri or get acupuncture (the needle treatment, it works wonders!) done. Acupuncture isn't very expensive and it lasts a LOOONG time!

my bf said he wanted to take a break? what is that? I think it sounds like hes dumping me but he sed not exactly. whats going on? i tried asking him and he just says he kind of confused right now. (link)
|
It means he needs time to himself for a while so he can think about things. A break isn't a break up. You two will still be boyfriend and girlfriend but he just needs time without hanging out or calling eachother. Trust me, I've suggested a break with my boyfriend before because I was feeling a bit suffocated. He just needs time to breathe.

Why are so many teenagers these days (particularly girls) obsessed with losing weight while they are like 100 lb?? Seriously, a girl who is like 12, 5 feet and 2 inches, and then complains she is overweight is actually underweight!
I don't get why girls want to get to be like 75 lb. Does anybody agree with me here? (link)
|
I totally agree with you. That's what's wrong with society today. Every girl wants to be like Paris Hilton or Lindsy Lohan. I'm 5'5 and weigh 135 and I'm perfectly fine with my not so flat stomach, sure I work out every day but that's not because I think I'm fat. That's how girls should lose weight, not by starving themselves. I know a girl who is 5'3 and weighs 91 lbs and THINKS SHE'S FAT and all she eats is lettuce. Girls just don't understand most guys like curves or a little meat, not stick figures. They just want to be like the anorexic/bulimic/crackhead celebrities. It's not attractive in any sort of way. It makes me sick to see girls KILLING themselves to be a size 0!

For Halloween Im gonna be a tree. its different and i was gonna wear brown shoes, pants, and long-sleeve undershirt and green t-shirt on top and spray my hair green. what are some ideas to make my costume funny and unique? (link)
|
you could take a stuffed cat and put it on your shoulder and get a little stuffed bird and put it in your hair. Maybe carry an apple around? and if you really want it to be hilarious.. get a stuffed raccoon and stick it in your pants with the head or tailend hanging out. Now THAT would be funny.

What does emo mean? (link)
|
orginally "emo" came from "Emotive Hardcore," a type of music. Now people use it, emo as "emotional," to describe a type of person. (very emotional, wrist slitting)

I'm 13/f, almost 14. I'm 5'10ish and 170 lbs.
My goal is to lose 20 pounds by December 31st 2006. My eating habits consist of 2 bowls of cereal for breakfast, usually a turkey sandwhich with 1 pint of chocolate milk & a fruit, and for dinner - i have about 2, 3 meals for dinner. I know I'm eating a lot, but I have four questions..
1) Is there any way for me to get my mind off of food so I won't crave it so much?
2) Excersize. How long should I run on the tredmill for/how many mph? I also play a lot of sports though. And also, if I'm not accesible to a tredmill one day what other exercise should I do?
3) What would you say is the rate I should be losing weight? (e.g. 2 pounds a week? 3 pounds a week? -- remember, I want to lose 20 lbs by December 31st 1992.
4) How many sit-ups and push-ups should I do every night? I would love to have a somewhat visible 2 pack by December 31st 1992
Thank you! (link)
|
1. there isn't really a way to stop craving food but there's a way to stop eating as much. Eating has to do a lot with what you see, not really how hungry you are. Use smaller plates (it might seem like you put more on your plate but you really don't) try eating 6-7 small meals a day instead of 3 huge ones, it makes you less hungry and keeps you full of energy all day long. Drink a TON of water, 8 glasses a day. It will help you lose a lot of water weight. You could also drink green tea.
2. run at your own pace for 10 min on the tredmill or take a jog outside. You could get a pilates tape or a work out tape and you could do that once a day. They really do work! Maybe try yoga?
3. 2-4 pounds a week is healthy. Try not to weigh yourself because remember, muscle weighs more than fat.
4. DON'T do sit ups, do crunches. Sit ups are bad for your back. Work your way up to 200 or 300 crunches a night and 20 push ups. Try doing different types of push ups, diamond (hands under you close together in the shape of a diamond), toe touch push ups (feet far apart), clap push ups (when you push yourself up, clap your hands..this is really hard to do)
You could also do squats to tone your legs and wall sits (back on the wall, legs bent like your sitting in a chair)
DON'T FORGET TO STRETCH! stretch AFTER you work out, it increases flexibility and keeps you from pulling muscles. Do it AFTER so your muscles are warmed up, the stretch further.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask.
Tazo, the kind I drink, green tea is the best tasting tea out there! but any green tea that tastes good to you is fine.

I am setting up a website, and I have a question.
I have a picture that I want to put up, but I dont want to resize it.
Lets just say the website is tinypic.com/e345
so instead of doing (link)

you can easily fix it in Paint. Just open the picture.. go to "image" then "stretch/skew" and change the horizontal and vertical percent to whatever you need. (keep them the same percents or it will look weird!)

okay i have this thing in my mouth, its not really a sore, it's an annoyance. its not painful, but its there and i can feel it. basically its this tiny bump and it feels like a bead when you touch it with your tongue. it looks almost like there's just spit there, but it's not. its clearish and very small and circular. it's on it, meaning it's raised, and its on the front, on my bottom lip, inside my mouth by my teeth. any ideas??
thanks!! (link)

ouch those hurt! They are called kanker (sp?) sores. Put a little bit of baking soda on it and it will be gone in a few days. They are no big deal.
