hey i downloaded sp3 but it says i need sp1 and sp2 1st or something like that.

You should really just use Windows Update. It will take care of everything for you.

[view]

hey im trying to download microsoft word 2007 but i need sp 2 or higher for it. could you send me the link to download the service pack?

Use Windows Update. Go to [start -> run] or press WinKey+R and type this:
wupdmgr

Windows Vista (any SP) and XP SP3 are considered higher than XP SP2.

If Windows Update doesn't work for some reason, you can download SP3 here:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=5B33B5A8-5E76-401F-BE08-1E1555D4F3D4&displaylang=en
However, that download is much larger and more prone to problems than the Windows Update version.

I saw your answer to that question and I got really interested in the program.

How do I go about using it?

**Mnemosyne is free, it's just difficult to find the correct download link. The link I provided will always point to version 1.2.1, which may not be the most current version in a few months.**

Mnemosyne is a flashcard program that shows cards according to an advanced algorithm. With it, you can memorize a large amount of information is a short period of time.

Download, install, and start Mnemosyne. Click the "add cards" button. Put a question in the top box and an answer in the bottom box. Click "0" and continue until you have added all of the information you want to memorize. There are also pre-made sets of cards on the Mnemosyne site.

After you have added all of the data to be memorized, the main Mnemosyne window will present you with one of the questions you created. Think of the answer and click "show answer". If you were correct, click a number between 2 and 5, depending on how much effort it took to remember it. If you were incorrect, choose 0 or 1, depending on how close you were.

Do this for as long as you want. If I'm trying to "cram", I will generally get the "Not memorized" count to zero and then "work ahead of schedule" a few times in intervals of a few hours. The person who asked that question could easily memorize her 17 symbols in just a few hours using Mnemosyne.

For best results, you should use Mnemosyne every day. It will ask you a few questions that it thinks you might have forgotten by now (not the entire set), and in this way you will never forget the data memorized with Mnemosyne.

This is the download link you should use for Mnemosyne (valid only for the next few months):
http://sourceforge.net/projects/mnemosyne-proj/files/mnemosyne/mnemosyne-1.2.1/mnemosyne-1.2.1-setup.exe/download

Hey ive got a HP Pavilion dv6 dv6-1133ea i know i repeated the dv6 but i took it word for word.Okay i am wondering which Graphics cards will fit my laptop and which one is the best

None. Your graphics card is soldered to the motherboard and it is not possible to replace it.

Very few laptops have replaceable graphics cards. Those that do are usually very expensive, the cards themselves are very expensive, and there is a limited selection of cards to choose from.

I googled the virus my computer claims to have:

win32.monster.fx

And it seems that the advice you gave was also given, which is great.

But, it didn't seem to work, because I'm still getting notifications about protecting my computer.

They seem less-frequent.. but.. they aren't completely gone like I want.

Thanks.

I already have a test tomorow on Lab safety. ANd she gave us 17 symbols to remember, and then their exact definition! What is a good way to remember their definition! I am horrible at memorizing things, expeciially in a couple days

I'm only giving you the link so that it doesn't look like I'm just copying the question.

I didn't really get what I was looking for.

I'm trying to just get rid of the stupid notifications about how I have a virus from the programs that seem to come from Windows.

Thanks, theymos. I really hope you can help.

Download, install, update, and run a complete scan with MalwareBytes:

Remove everything it finds. Restart.

Contact me if the problem persists.

you could not access the restore file through dos?

Windows does not come with any kind of "restore file". If your computer manufacturer created a restore file for you, you will almost certainly need to use a manufacturer-supplied program from within Windows, not in DOS.

[view]

hey i was wondering whats the code in ms dos to do a complete restore like back when it came out of the box. theres no cd and i cant find the restore in the system programs. i just need the code to put in under ms dos. thanks

You can't. To restore the computer, you need to put all of the files that came with the computer into their original places, and delete everything else. Neither DOS nor Windows has this data. There isn't some "secret area" where this information is backed up; if it's not on the hard drive, you MUST use an install/recovery CD.

my warranty recently expired for my mac laptop back in july. it just so happens that right after it expried, some weird vertical blue line showed up on my screen. i took a screen shot and it won't show up in that. i've googled this and several sites/people are saying it's a problem with the LCD screen. if this is true, i really dont want to pay around $6oo for a new screen. it's ridiculous. anybody have any fixes?

Try these methods:

If none of the software solutions work on your Mac, you can use this:

what all can I put in there?

You can put any file into the shared folders. Everyone on the network (all Limewire, Frostwire, and Shareaza users, and others) will be able to search for and download the files as long as you are online.

With Frostwire, the shared folders start out empty and can be filled manually by you. You also automatically start sharing any file that you download with Frostwire.

Files over 20MB are better shared with BitTorrent because you don't need to be online for someone to download a file shared with BitTorrent (except for the first day or two).

It is illegal to share files that are copyrighted. You are likely to be caught on Frostwire/Limewire/Shareaza. BitTorrent is safer.

[view]

When I use frost wire to download...are the songs that I have on my comp that are in mp3 format (or any other format) going to be available for file sharing...if so how do I stop that, because I don't think I am legally able to share these songs that I am downloading from MP3 Panda, or any other song that I may have on iTunes or something. What's the deal?

Files aren't shared unless you put them in your "shared" folders.

Okay i have a HP Pavilion DV6 and it really godd for playing games whatever okay.So my question is when you first set up your comp its great and after a while new processes will be added to the processes in you task manager when you download things for games/whatnot.What are the basic Processes that my comp or any Vista Comp should only be running.I just hate when i see EA download manager in the list and Windows live or whatever i just want to know what is need to run not these stupid background Programs Thanks

These built-in processes should not be killed (though killing them won't break anything permanently):
audiodg.exe
csrss.exe
dwm.exe
explorer.exe
lsass.exe
lsm.exe
services.exe
smss.exe
spoolsv.exe
svchost.exe
System
System Idle Process
wininit.exe
winlogon.exe
wuauclt.exe

There may be additional required processes that are not built into Vista, such as your antivirus program and device drivers. Required processes are usually run under the SYSTEM, NETWORK SERVICE, or LOCAL SERVICE user.

You can usually find the purpose of a process by Googling its name.

You can disable processes from starting with Windows by going to [start -> run] (or press WinKey+R) and typing:
msconfig
Go to the "startup" tab. Don't mess with the other tabs.

that will let me pay with credit card. cause i don't want to pay these people and then have to turn around and pay the download people.

Is there a place that charges less for downloads than amazon.com
Amazon charges 99 cents per song and at 20 songs that $20 and I feel like that's quite a bit, it's better than getting a CD sometimes cause that's usually about a dollar per song plus shipping. I just feel like we used to be able to get CD's for like 11 12 maybe eve 15 dollars and we would get like 17 maybe even 20 songs. Is there a site that is legit that I could use to download international songs and national songs with popular artists from all over and get good quality and not have to pay a dollar per song? Thanks

http://www.mp3sparks.com/
About 15 cents per song. No DRM. You choose the quality.

Unfortunately, it is not possible to fund your account directly. You can fund it through this service:

I am having a problem. I am putting the disc in the one that says DVD RW DISC. It is not working, either it is saying No Disc or it is like making that swirling noise and I am not sure if it is working and I should just wait or what, I've tried putting it in before, putting it in after and putting it in in the middle of setting up the songs. I know they are both blank but for sure I know one is cause i just pulled it out of the package. They are Memorex CD-RW and I have a Dell Dimension 5150. With Windows XP. I am not sure what is going on. They are all MP3 songs. What should I do?

**The asker contacted me and it turned out that she was using DVD-RWs instead of CD-RWs.**

It sounds like the drive doesn't support the disk.

I might be able to give you more information if you contact me by IM:
