Vista Processes Okay i have a HP Pavilion DV6 and it really godd for playing games whatever okay.So my question is when you first set up your comp its great and after a while new processes will be added to the processes in you task manager when you download things for games/whatnot.What are the basic Processes that my comp or any Vista Comp should only be running.I just hate when i see EA download manager in the list and Windows live or whatever i just want to know what is need to run not these stupid background Programs Thanks

These built-in processes should not be killed (though killing them won't break anything permanently):
audiodg.exe
csrss.exe
dwm.exe
explorer.exe
lsass.exe
lsm.exe
services.exe
smss.exe
spoolsv.exe
svchost.exe
System
System Idle Process
wininit.exe
winlogon.exe
wuauclt.exe
There may be additional required processes that are not built into Vista, such as your antivirus program and device drivers. Required processes are usually run under the SYSTEM, NETWORK SERVICE, or LOCAL SERVICE user.
You can usually find the purpose of a process by Googling its name.
You can disable processes from starting with Windows by going to [start -> run] (or press WinKey+R) and typing:
msconfig
Go to the "startup" tab. Don't mess with the other tabs. ]
