My 15-year-old sister is horrible. I'm only two years younger than she is but she treats me like I'm some kind of slave to her or something. And it's all the time. I'm usually a really passive person about things like this, but I'm just downright sick of being forced to live with this kind of treatment from her.
I had my two friends, Rachel and Beth, over a couple nights ago and we went straight downstairs, keeping to ourselves, minding our own the whole time. Then my sister barrels down the stairs and yells at me in front of my friends because I didn't let the dogs in after they'd been let out. My sister called my dad and told him, "Dad, she hasn't been helping me all day and I've done all the work and her friends are so rude to me." Even though, for one, I'd done her AND my chores because she had threatened a phone call to dad.
And I believe that the only remark my friends had was "You could have just opened the door because you were already upstairs." and that's not rude at all. So then my dad came home and yelled at me in front of my friends, and guess what? They had to go home and I was grounded for a week. All because of my sister's lying.
And then I found out that my sister did some stuff with this college guy who never liked her anyway. So I promised her I wouldn't tell anyone and I never did. But she continues to treat me like she does.
She lies to my parents about so much stuff. I get in trouble for things I don't deserve to be in trouble for. And I can't tell them that she's lying because she denies it and they believe her because shes the 'mature' one and the older one.
Help?
i agree with matt, now is the time to tell your parents about all the stuff your sister has done. it may seem childish, but it will take a lot of the attention off of you. it won't hurt to be extra responsible for a while to make it seem like she's not. and you can "frame" her, if you know what i mean. if she's done all kinds of crap to you, now it's your turn. i have an older sister so i know how you feel. it gets better when they go to college, trust me.
ok I have a best friend who really likes this guy. She talks about him all the time. I think he likes her too because he flirts a lot with her. But he is kind of shy and I don't think he would ask her out. I really think she shuold ask him out but she says no and she doesn't think he will say yes. But I said give it a try because she is like obsessed with him. What should she do?
here's where you can go behind people's backs:
ask your friend what she would say if he asked her out. if it's yes, then at some point tell the guy that he had better ask her out because you have a "sneaking suspicion" she will say yes. your friend will be happy and you will have the satisfaction of hooking people up.
ok so over the summer i hung out with this guy a lot. But just as friends. So he kind of liked me more as a friend and i liked him too. But when summer ended he didn't even look at me in the halls at school. I don't really like him anymore but everytime I look at him i think of the fun times we have had together and I start liking him again. I really want to get my feelings straight. Do I like him or not? And why does he not even lok at me in the halls anymore?
if he's willing to completely ignore you, he's not worth your time. did you ever see the movie "grease"? if not, basically, a guy and a girl go out over the summer, and then the guy doesn't talk to the girl when school starts again, so the girl changes so that the guy will like her. not the best moral ever. don't do that. anyway, you could give him the benefit of the doubt: try to ask him sometime why he keeps ignoring you. if he gives you a reasonable answer, then see if it goes anywhere. if he just shrugs it off, forget about him.

This 15 year old guy asked me out (5 month difference in age) But I don't like him so much. I used to..when he was better looking and not so much of a jerk..as he is now. He assumed that I said yes. I didn't say yes. (He thinks I like him so much)
Well, I want to tell him no..Like in school. Or even online. But I don't know how to. I've never had a boyfriend before, and I don't want this one to be my first.
(Also because he told me we were going to engage in sexual acts. He told me that we would progress as a couple...I don't want that. It's disgusting)

say to him: "look, i don't want to hurt your feelings, but i don't want to be in a relationship with you." or "i don't want to be in a relationship right now." or even "i don't think of you that way." you could even bring your parents into it and say that they don't allow you to date. (you could ask your parents to forbid you from dating him. parents are handy that way.)
i need help with my english essay! i have been doing bad in english and i need some basic ideas for this essay.
here is my assignment:
Atticus says to Jem, "remember it's a sin to kill a mockingbird" (Lee 90). This becomes a major metaphor throughout the novel. Explain why Atticus says this and then "climb into [the] skin" of at least two other characters in the novel and explain how they are human mockingbirds (Lee 30). Remember one does not have to die in order to be "killed". You must use at least three quotations in this essay and include proper citation.

we are doing this book in my english class too. atticus means that it's wrong to harm an innocent thing. he uses this as a metaphor for boo radley and tom robinson. scout and jem and dill basically attack boo radley by trying to make him "come out" (because of his peculiarity) and pester him even though he never did anything to anybody. the people of maycomb attack tom robinson for not doing anything, just because he's black and somebody said that he raped a girl (which he didn't do). tom robinson and boo radley never did anything bad to anybody else, and that's why atticus defends tom robinson in court and tries to get scout and jem to quit bothering boo radley. i hope this helped :)
edit: i just thought of something else, but it's kind of small. in scout's 3rd grade class later in the book, the holocaust is mentioned. hitler's persecution of the jews is also an example of harming an innocent thing for no reason. it's a small part but it may help you a little bit.
Recently this month, when I wake up, I have just a really terrible bad breath and my mouth has this nasty stale taste! I know it's normal to get bad breath when you wake up, but it's really bad and when I wake up or open my mouth during the night when I sleep, it's so bad it wakes me up and I can't get back to sleep.
I brush my teeth with a lot of tooth paste in the morning when I wake up but the smell is kind of still there. It goes away before lunch and etc but still, that's really gross, right in the morning. I don't like the taste it gives me before my breakfast either!
And also, while I'm brushing my teeth, there's a feeling in the back of my throat, like as if there's a lump of something down there so I have to try to hork what ever it is out very day (even though I can't even hork at all) and the feeling's still there. I feel like an old person when I hork while brushing my teeth. Very gross indeed.
Is that normal? Is there anything else I can do?
well, i'm not sure i know what horking is, but the only thing you can do is make sure that you're brushing your teeth and gums (and tongue!) twice a day, flossing every once in a while, and using mouthwash. i saw a commercial the other day for listerine mouthwash that said that it protects against germs for like 8 hours and is good to use before bed. you might want to try that. (you could try brushing your teeth before and after breakfast, unless you normally drink orange juice... then it could still taste weird.) there's a slim chance that it could be something you've eaten, but unlikely unless you've recently switched to an all-garlic diet. i hope things get better for you!

I really want a movie poster for Across the Universe. I googled "movie posters" and it came up with a bunch of websites. I searched each of the websites, and all of them either didn't have Across the Universe, and the ones who did, the posters cost like 30 bucks or more! (I want a big poster, not a little one!) Where can I get an affordable movie poster, for a not-too-publicized movie like this?
i have been looking for one too and haven't found any yet. i suspect that there will be some prints of it once more people see it and stuff. right now it's not too popular. what website did you find the expensive poster on? i'm curious :)

Im really into the Beatles, the Kinks, and the Beach Boys and a few others.. Im really into classic rock/alternitive, never metal, i love up-beat music. Ive been listening to these since I was born; my parents introduced me to them. What are some other bands that i might like? What are some other oldies I might like, and what are some new, modern bands that have similar sounds that i would like?
since you said you like the beatles, that makes me think of the british band oasis. they're one of my favorite bands. try listening to the strokes too.
I bought a lot of songs on itunes. most of them worked but some of them never downloaded. when i try to buy them it says i have already bought them and i need to check my downloads. how can i get my songs back?
in itunes, at the top, go to store --> check for purchases. it's always worked for me. otherwise, check your receipts and contact apple customer service.

nope... itunes is weird that way. you could look on walmart.com or amazon.com and see if they have the song- they have music downloads for like the same price as itunes.

that is true. stuff like that depends on your body weight- naturally, if you are really skinny, alcohol enters your bloodstream faster than if you were a body builder. that's why some people are called "lightweights"- it's because they are smaller and the alcohol affects them faster.
we are writing short stories about the war. And i had an idea but it is hardcore. the dude kills himself at the end. its about a soldier who sees this iraqi women walking towards him and he asks what she wants. She dont reply so he assumes that she is a bomber and shoots her. as she falls to the ground she pulls out a white flag. after that he thinks of himself as a murderer. at the end he goes to the point of insanity he hangs himself. Do you think that is too much?? i want it to mean something you know. So can you help me and tell me some more ideas i could do?? thanks!!

personally, i think the white flag is a little politically incorrect. we are not fighting the iraqi people themselves- we are fighting for their freedom too. or so the government says. so why would an iraqi woman walk up to an american soldier and wave a white flag? in fact, iraqi women are discouraged from being forward, showing their skin, or even leaving the house nowadays because of the dangers involved. i think the last bit is good though. here's what i would do instead (you can elaborate on this if you want) :
an american soldier is startled awake in the middle of the night. believing his group is being attacked, he shoots some guy down. the guy ends up being his best friend. then he thinks of himself as a murderer and hangs himself.
is it ok to brush your teeth right after using the crest white strips?
and is it ok to do like them after school and then do them only 6 hours later before bed? or should i wake up earlier and make time to do them before school?
yes, it's very good to brush your teeth afterward to get all of the gunk off. however, i read on the crest whitestrips box that it is not recommended that you brush your teeth immediately before hand (like less than 15 minutes before). and yes, it is okay to do that. they say that it is perfectly fine to just take an hour out of your day and do them all at once, back to back (if you're like exercising, doing homework, watching tv, etc.)
16/f..very shy. for my creative writing project, i had to work with 3 other girls (one is 18, one is 17, and one is 16) and we have to film a screenplay.
I was chosen to be a prostitute. I have to wear very vulgar clothes that show lots of cleavage and a very short skirt..and i have to talk inappropriately. I'm VERY shy and feel SOOOOOOOOO awkward when filming...It drives me insane. And I asked those girls whether or not I could get a more CLOTHED part....but they're all like NO NO!! You're doing so good! You have the best part!

you don't have to do anything you don't feel comfortable doing. if you could tell them that you really are not okay with being a prostitute, then that might help your situation a little bit. anyway, since you are doing this for school, it seems inappropriate that you are having to wear vulgar clothes. you can get a "nude" colored shirt/pants/leggings to wear under whatever you need to wear if it helps. but you can achieve the look of a prostitute without wearing entirely slutty clothes. for example, if you go overboard on the make-up and do eighties "big" hair and wear a skirt with high heels and a semi-modest shirt, it will still be apparent that you are a prostitute (especially if there is dialogue alluding to that).
it's pretty obvious that you are not okay with this at all, and you need to try to let your group know that, or change the wardrobe of your character.
i'm 15/f/nj is it legal to have sex with a 19 year old guy i know 16 is the age of consent but isnt' there something about if it's with in a certin number of years and your like 14 then its ok
it would be illegal because you're a minor and he's not, so it's technically statutory rape (if your parents find out and press charges). if you were 18 it would be okay.

I was washing my face with soap that my sister used on her foot that has a plantar wart. I didn't know at the time, until she told me later. Can I get a wart on my face?

i would not worry about it, actually. i've never heard of a plantar wart anywhere but the foot, so unless your sister like rubbed her foot on an open wound on your face, it seems unlikely that you would get a wart. if you do notice anything, call a dermatologist immediately- they can definitely take care of it with no problem.
