advice
last friday, i was curling my hairr and i burned my neck pretty bad. the curler heats up to 420 degrees, needless to say it hurt. a dime sized amount of skin peeled immediately. for the past couple days i keep recovering it with a bandaid and neosporin and i change it about 4 times a day. should i continue to cover it or should i let the air heal it now? and is there anything else i can be doing for this to heal soon?
You need to leave it uncovered part of the time. It's fine if you want to cover it with a Band-Aid while you're at school or whatever, but it needs a few hours of air every day to start healing more quickly. Keep using the Neosporin and it will go away. My friend burned herself on the neck really badly with a curling iron, and it went away pretty quick because she used Neosporin and only kept it covered part of the time.
if someone were to get you a customized guitar pick for christmas would you like that? if so whats the best thickness?

if you even care to know i was thinking of getting my boyfriend one who plays guitar that says "i love you" or something like that ha i just thought itd be cute. thanks for the help!
That's the cutest idea ever! Most guitar players use medium. It's pretty much the standard, so you can't go wrong there.
What does the term Helter Skelter mean in the Beetles song Helter Skelter or the term were use today?
Last year I watched a film called "Helter Skelter" in a psychology class. It was about Charles Manson.
Here's information about the movie:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Helter_Skelter_(1976_film)
Basically, Charles Manson believed that the term "helter skelter" meant a giant war between white people and black people that he thought was bound to happen. He believed that after "helter skelter" happened, that black people would totally dominate the world. I'm not sure how he derived this from the Beatles song, but somehow he did. So when he killed people, he wrote "helter skelter" on the walls in blood.
If you ever get a chance to see the movie, watch it. It's creepy but it's interesting too.
Also, in the movie "Across the Universe" they play "Helter Skelter" during the a big riot scene. So in that context it basically means that all hell has broken loose.
is it a guy thing that guys dont make eye contact to ppl they are talking to or what?
It depends on the guy. Some guys get really nervous and can't make eye contact when they talk to people. My boyfriend always makes eye contact with me, so it just differs from person to person. But no, it's not just a guy thing- there are plenty of guys that always make eye contact.
I was just curious to know, who you want to win the election '08?
My mom and i want obama, but literally the rest of my family wants mccain. I just would like to see how many people want obama, and how many want mccain.
All answers will help :]
Thanks!
Obama for sure. Sarah Palin makes me throw up inside my mouth.
hey i am taking a survey on which president that people altogether wanted.
If you dont want to answer its fine, but if you do, it is greatly appreaciated!!

Does anyone know of any good acne products that get rid of acne quickly? I really need to get rid of my acne. I have a date on Friday and I want my face to look clear. My frind told me to use the Acnefree products but it hasn't helped so far. Can anyone recomend anything? A good product at a low price would be best. thanks.
Here are some things that have worked for me:
Stay hydrated with lots of water- it makes your skin clear up and look healthier all around.
Don't drink soft drinks or eat sugary foods.
Don't touch your face.
Get plenty of sleep.
For spot treatment, you can rub toothpaste on your face and then wash it off before you go to bed. It dries out acne and makes the redness go away.
Biore has always worked for me, so if you see any of their products, try one of the scrubs.
Are like all guitar strings on all guitars spaced out the same? Are there different kinds? Cause I'm having trouble learning how to play the guitar because everytime I try to play a chord my fingers sort of touch the other strings since they are kinda thick. Like when I put one finger on one string then the rest, part of that finger ends up touching another string and it doesn't sound well when I strum. Anyways are electric guitars easier to practice with than acoustic ones? I think it might be easier if I had one of those skinny ones. Oh, and are there any really helpful guitar lesson sites? I'm trying to learn and right now all I got is a computer to help me. I am a HUGE novice. And I can't afford a teacher or anything.
They're spaced correctly- pretty much everyone has that problem when they first start playing guitar. It's natural for your fingers to touch other strings at first... but try to break that habit. Make sure your fingers are curled. It helps to google image search pictures of guitarists, and imitate the way they hold their hands. Pretty soon your chords will actually sound like chords, and not like rattletrap twangy strings. It will take a while to get used to only touching one string per finger.
Here's a good example:
http://www.frontrowking.com/concerts/John%20Mayer/john_m36.jpg
See how much his individual fingers are curved? That's what you want to strive for. It may seem like your fingers are too awkward for guitar, but if you keep working at it then you will get better.
Electric guitars are easier to practice with, but I would not recommend switching to one at all just yet. If you practice on an acoustic, it will be way easier to play an electric... but if you practice on an electric, there's no way you can really get better at acoustic. Acoustic is an entirely different animal, so to speak. I started out on acoustic when I was 11 and started playing electric a few years later. So believe me, it's possible to learn acoustic even if you think you're too small or your guitar is too big. In fact, it will make you that much better when you decide to switch to electric. So stick with the acoustic until you're pretty comfortable with guitar in general.
Here's a good site for lessons:

I listen to people like Cobra Starship, All Time Low, Forever the Sickest Kids, Death Cab For Cutie, and The Maine. I also like people like Jason Mraz, Tyler Hilton and Plain White T's. But I want more people like in the alternitive music. And group is fine, just not something like, really out there. But all suggestions are awesome! Thanks!

there's like an orchestra thing that plays the more orchestra version of background music like pocketful of sunshine and a bunch of coldplay songs and stuff. whats the orchestra/band's name??
There are a few different string quartet tribute groups. One is the Vitamin String Quartet, and another is the Hampton String Quartet. Both are really good, I have several of their songs.
is there a place online where i can vent my problems? i don't need advice per say, but just. a place where you can just write and write and write and have people comment on your situation?
www.experienceproject.com
I'm actually on that website right now.
can someone help explain this concept to me? how can something be greater than the sum of its parts?
This statement generally applies to some teamwork principle. For example, for a team to function, they have to act like a team. When you have a team full of people where everybody wants to go off and do their own thing and be selfish, that doesn't work.
So that means that when you have a bunch of random people who only think about themselves, that isn't as cool as having a team who functions as one.
The statement isn't literal, it's just talking about how working together is better than lots of people working alone.
whats a song about that it seems like everyone is turning their back on mee.

What does it mean to be a Christian exactly? I have always considered myself to be a Christian and now I wonder what being a Christian means really.
My best friend and I were talking and she seems to believe that being Christian means you have to go to church every day it's open but I don't believe that. I think my best friend has good ideas about Christianity in that we, as Christians, should be tending to (helping) others, Christian or not, but I am unsure about the need to go to church.
I know lots of celebrities are Christian, like the Jonas Brothers (all three that I'm aware of--Nick Jonas, Joe Jonas, and Kevin Jonas), Miley Cyrus (Hannah Montana), Alicia Keys, and Tom Hanks. I don't think they go to church every time the doors are open, but I know they do believe in Christianity and God.
To me, all of the Christian churches I've gone to have almost been like social gatherings. Maybe I'm just going to the wrong sorts of churches or maybe I have the wrong idea. Is it wrong for a Christian to NOT go to church? If a Christian does not go to church every, say, Sunday then does it make them any less of a Christian?
What does being Christian mean to you? What defines as person as being Christian? Any information, opinions, and links would be highly appreciated.
This is entirely my opinion.
I think that you can definitely be a Christian without having to go to church. I don't go to church and I'm still a good person.
There are a lot of people who think that just because they go to church every Sunday, that makes them great people. That's not always the case, however.
What I'm about to say applies to everyone in the world, not just Christians. I think you should always do the right thing and treat people with respect just because it's the right thing to do. Not just because you think it will raise your chances of going to heaven or whatever... but just because it's the right thing to do. A lot of churches see heaven as an actual incentive. Like, do this and your reward is heaven. I don't think that's the case... I live my life with the mindset that I'm going to do the right thing no matter what, not just because I could go to hell if I don't.
I really try to be a leader and set an example for other people, so a lot of people have no clue that I don't go to church. I get irritated with people who only act right on Sundays... I'd rather act right all week.
And you're right, a lot of churches are just social gatherings, or for appearances. And there are people that go to those churches every Sunday just because they know their neighbors will think badly of them if they don't. To me, that's not right.
The Bible says that God loves everybody, so with that knowledge, He won't love you any less if you don't go to church.
What is the line, 'That's what she said' from?? The guy in Without A Paddle said it, and now this girl in my school is saying it. What's it from and why is it so funny? Thanks.
Basically, if someone says something that could be taken in a sexual way, you say, "That's what she said!"
It means "that's what she said last night" generally. So if someone, referring to something completely random, says anything like:
"That looks really hard." or
"Do it faster."
then that warrants a "that's what she said."
It's funny because once someone says it, you have to backtrack in the conversation and then connect the dots. Most of them are stupid but some are hilarious.
National "That's What She Said" Day is February 15, the day after Valentine's Day. It's a Facebook holiday, and it's on February 15 to go with the theme of "that's what she said last night."
I have no idea what to do for these questions: HELP!
"Perpendicular to 2x + y = 4 with an x-intercept -1"
What do you do?
And for
"Perpendicular to x + 2y = 8 and has y-intercept 4"
"with x-intercept -1/2 and through (-2,5)"
HELP ME
We're not supposed to do your homework for you, so here's a different approach.
Right now, your equations are in AX + BY = C form. That means that for the first equation...
A = 2
B = 1
C = 4
So with that knowledge, you can use a shortcut to find the slope of that line. The slope is equal to -A/B. Once you find that, you know that the slope of a line perpendicular to that line is always going to be the opposite reciprocal. So, say that hypothetically the slope of your line is 2. That means that the opposite reciprocal of that line is -1/2, which is the slope of the line perpendicular to that.
Once you've found your perpendicular slope, you can plug it into a y=mx+b equation, along with your x-intercept of -1. (That means that your equation will look like 0=m(-1)+b, except you will put in the slope once you've found it.) At that point, you can solve algebraically to find b. Voila!
I hope I gave you enough information so that you understand the rest of your homework. If you need any more help, feel free to inbox me.
OKAY so my school serves pizza, EVERY DAY, and I'm on a diet there for I bring my lunch every day. BUT the thing is I don't have a microwave, so I can only take items that don't have to be heated! I have been taking a ham sandwich for two weeks with one small bag of sun chips.
SO my major isue is what else can I fix, that is diet appropriate, yummy, and non heatable.
Please see let me know if there's something that would be suitable for my situation.
THANK YOU :D
Here's what I eat for lunch:
half of a wheat bagel with turkey
or a salad
graham crackers or granola bar
a fruit (grapes, banana, or dried cranberries)
a vegetable (carrots or cucumbers)
and Reese's 100 calorie packs
It's a good portion size for me and nutritious as well. By the way, turkey is a lot leaner than ham. Also, don't think of it as a diet- think of it as a healthy lifestyle change. Two years ago I adopted a healthier lifestyle, and I haven't ever slipped up. That's because I never called it a diet. So good luck with everything!
I use duac and retinA and it gets my face SOOOOO DRYYY
I use mario badescio moisureizor but it works for that seconds and my dryness and peeling comes back
(especilly in the morning)
what should i do???
I've used both Duac and Retin-A before and had similar results.
For like a week or so, try not using it as much. Like if you use it every day, try just every other day and alternate medications. When I was on them, I used Duac in the morning and Retin-A at night. So if you have a similar routine, use Duac one morning, then the next night use Retin-A. That way, you're still using the medication but not freaking your face out with too much of it. Drinking more water will definitely help, but I think the main problem is how often you are using the medication.
I have been with my girlfriend for about 5 years now. She often works really late hours and sometimes I can't reach her for hours inbetween. I found some of her panties that she forgot to throw in the wash, and I noticed some thick whitish stains in the crotch area of her panties, and one time some yellowish thick stains and a foul smell. Is that an indication that she has slept with someone?
No, her underwear is not evidence of her cheating. That's discharge, it happens to every girl. Even if they're not sexually active.
The best way to find out is to ask her why she works such late hours and why you can't reach her.

i got invited to go on a 20 day trip from People to People. I know it will cost money and it's no until summer 2009 but i would really like to go. Have you ever been on one of these trips? if so how much did it cost and stuff? if you know anything about this program i would greatly appreciate it if you told me! thank you!
I went to Australia a few years ago. It was one of the best experiences I've ever had, and I would encourage you to take advantage of it. The cost depends on where you're going. Typically, if it's overseas, like Australia, it's about 5,000 dollars or more. You can do fundraising and stuff.
It's a safe and reputable program. You meet tons of new people. I still keep in touch with the people I met, and I haven't seen them in three years.
You got invited because a teacher/counselor at your school recommended you.
