ok. so what happended to these singers/rappers? cause i don't hear anything about them anymore.
- Nelly (not Nelly Furtato, Nelly the rapper..lol)
- Usher
- Ashlee Simpson
i just don't hear about them anymore. and i really like them. are they just taking a break? or making new music or what? thanx so much!! (link)
|
lots of artists take breaks for a couple of years before returning and others just sort of fade away...I can't seen Nelly or Usher fading away...but remember Nelly just came out with a double album a couple years ago...It takes a lot to follow up on that...Ushers last album sold great..I know that he wanted to dabble in movies for a while...he might be taking some time out to do that...Ashlee Simpson's last CD didn't sell very well at all...mainly because all of the problems she was having around the release time...She might be fading away...but with her current rumored boyfriend Pete Wentz of Fall Out Boy (therefore I hate her..she stole him from me lol) He just might be the boost she needs to get her back in the industry...but there's just too much bad publicity about her...she's gonna have a harder time returning than the other two...but we'll just have to wait and see what happens...in the mean time enjoy the old stuff...thus showing your support for new stuff to come out
|
i don't think i am singing right! I keep getting really soar right in the middle of a song like i'm pushing too hard, but if i don't then you can barely hear me. I know breathe out of your diaphram and stuff and i'm working on that. but my voice is giving out. what am i doing wrong?
(link)
|
breathe through your nose to fill up the diaphragm...keep your head completely straight forward...if you can't hit the high notes bring your head down...whatever you do...DO NOT force the note to come out...pushing the note will stop vocal maturity and ruin your vocal cords...you've probably pushed too hard and now your voice is giving out...rest your voice for a while and drink hot tea with honey in it...it's alright if your quiet when you sing...it's natural for people to be...don't push yourself to be louder...you will get louder in time...just take it slowly or this will start to happen again...keep your mouth open...but not yawn size open like someone said...it's killer for your jaws...make sure your throat is open...you'll feel the air flow...and drop your jaw to a comfortable level..keep the mouth rounded for proper o's and never keep your lips close together on vowels...annunciate everything...i promise it will all help...also always warm up before you sing and start singing at mezzo piano...then work your way up louder
|
ok I've been waiting for awhile now for my voice to fully mature. About what age does that happen or is it something that's 'different for everyone'? Are there some excircises (sp?) that i could do to help my voice? thanks in advance!! (link)
|
it's definitely different for everyone but at 14 you're young yet...don't worry about it...it will mature...and whispering wont hurt anything unlike what the other person said...singing really loudly and forcing notes and sounds out will actually stop progression and destroy the vocal cords..I've been singing my entire life...the best thing to do is to always make sure you warm up before singing...if you don't i suggest singing at a mezzo piano level..if you're warmed up start at a mezzo piano level and work up to a mezzo forte and forte for crescendoed notes. just don't force anything out...if it's not coming it will in time but pushing it will only make things worse
|
Ok well i'm thinking about going to a concert soon, and i was just wondering if you would advise me to wear earplugs because i know that its going to be really loud in there, but is it better to wear ear plugs or not to?
(link)
|
If your gonna be near the speakers and upfront I'd bring them just in case...but most people don't wear them...I go to a lot of concerts and I've never seen anyone in the audience wearing earplugs...one night of loud music isn't gonna hurt your ears...if your going to one every night it might but just every once in a while it's not going to do much of anything...if your that worried about ear safety then wear them...but I don't suggest doing it

There are four different choirs at my highschool, we is a very big music program. Over all there are about 130 people in the schools choirs. They are having auditions for honor choir, but only about 60 people qualify. About 55 are auditioning. I am one of them. I know I have a good chance of making it, I have won 3 state compitions for singing, and I have one a couple of talent shows. Only 15 people are allowed in honor choir. You have to sing a song off of broad way. The choir teachers will judge. What are some good broadway songs? I want a kind of jazzy song. (You know like the songs Fever or Big Spender? Something like that.) Does anyone know any good broadway songs for solos? It would be a big help. Don't worry about high any notes, I can sing a high C. Anyways thank you in advance, and any suggestions are appreciated! (link)

Would anyone be able to tell me if the song "Candyman" by Christina Aguilera has been, or will soon be, featured in a movie?
Thank you! (link)
|
I haven't heard of it being used in a movie...its a possibility but I'm unaware of any at the time...I know that she performed it for an award show or something recently but as far as I know there is no movie for release that's using it...if I hear anything I'll let you know though

I'm 13, in 8th grade, and I was wondering if anyone knew any good 3/4 songs that I could use to waltz to. My friend Brian and I are going to choreograph a routine for our school talent show, and I was thinking of doing "Lover, you should've come over" by Jamie Cullum. They don't have to be popular, but alternitive, pop, or jazz waltzes are good. Sort of popular, but nothing like R&B or anything.
Just pretty much, not classical music, because then people will be less likely to like it (immature I know, but it's the truth). And if it helps, I will probably be wearing a long, strapless red dress and he'll be wearing a black suit.
Thanks very much! My friend & I appreciate your answers. :] (link)

I yearn to make something of my singing ability. I'm inconsistent to the extreme and need to have more control over my voice. Are there any suggestions or websites you can lead me to? (link)
|
I would definitely look for a vocal coach in your area...I've been going to one for years...they'll help you go over proper breathing techniques and help your voice to be the best it can be. They'll push you to your limits and expand them...it'll be helpful for you.

if you only make yourself throw up like 3-4 times a week, and you dont over eat before you make yourself throw up, are you still considered to have bullemia? (link)
|
as someone who has suffered with bulimia you are still bulimic...sure you think that your not doing any harm now by only forcing yourself to throw up 3-4 times a week...but you'll soon find an addiction and throw up once a day, twice a day, and have everything escalate until your vomiting 30-40 times a week...I got to the point where I couldn't keep ANYTHING down at all...I don't want you to get there...please get help for your problem now before it gets worse...there are some serious health risks for bulimia including death if your not careful! Get help while you still can!!!

im signing up for my middle school talent show after spring break! i have the entire spring break to pick a song, and i have no idea what to pick! I mean, I love songs that make you feel good, and like I guess R&B, Rap (though i cant sing that, haha), some Pop, oldiess (not from the 80s though), soft rock, some punkish songs... i guess all things in general. but if you had to sing something that will really show off your singing talent really well, what would you sing? preferably something that doesnt have another person singing for a while.. because im the only person singing this song.
also, where could i buy the music as instrumentals, or as sheet music? and i have to sing the song and give it to them as a DVD, and what should i wear for that and where should i shoot it? outside? in fancy clothes? in my room? kitchen? in like a sweatshirt? HEEELP! also, again i know this is early but i just like thinking beforehand, lol but what could i wear for this song that would kinda match what im singing?
THANKS ALOT!! if i win... gosh i'll love the advicenator forever who gave me the best song evar! oh yeah, my singing voice is not too high, and not too low. haha its hard to explain without a video which i dont have currently.. but i can sing some mariah carey songs (without the super high notes), celine dion, puff johnson, etc.
THANKS!
LOVE YOU! (link)

i have itunes right now.. but i dont like buying all my songs becuase i want so many but it gets expensive.. so does anyone know where i can download songs for free.. and it wont put a virus on my computer??
Thanks! (link)
|
I use limewire and transfer it to my itunes playlist...it's a no brainer to use just type in the song or artist you want and download..but if you type in anything slightly suggestive you'll get tons of porn...fair warning..but you don't have to download it so make it and audio specific search

There was this song from the late 90s that I loved. I could have sworn that it was by Barenaked Ladies or someone like them. It was about love and something about diving off a cliff and swimming in the ocean.
If you could give me some help with finding the song, I would appreciate it. (link)
|
I'm thinking the song you're talking about is Truly, Madly, Deeply by: Savage Garden...the lyrics you're referring to are "I wanna stand with you on a mountain, I wanna bathe with you in the sea, I wanna lay like this forever, Until the sky falls down on me"
|
This is for a school project. Suggest me songs that represent happy optmisim...a positive "your life is beautiful, keep living!!" attitude. but not anything cheesy or corny please. i'll appreciate it even more if it incorporates going to heaven or something religious!

Does anyone know what kind of hip hop dance to do.....like what are the steps? or do u knnow a site to go onother than youtube??? much appreciated (link)
|
choreograph your own...that's always a good way to do it...make it original and unique...no one wants to see something that they can do or have done...put a lot of hip hop dance moves together and make it your own
