Hi, this is Kate. I'm 17. My life motto is 'Live Laugh Love', I really think those are great words to live by and I'm planning to have it made into a tattoo. I'm not religious but I love learning about different religions. I write stories based on things that have happened to me because sometimes I have days where I just think 'wow that sounds like something out of a book'. I've finished 3 stories and I'm about to start my first horror story..very exciting. I believe in fairy tale love...the kissing in the rain, staring at the stars on the rooftop kind of love..Why? Because I'm in that kind of love and its been the greatest time of my life. And it didn't come easy.
I'd love to help you with whatever issues come your way. I've been in relationships where the guy was too old for me, the guy was my best friend, the guy just wanted to get some. I've been the other woman but I'm not proud of it. I've been the girl who waits years to be with the guy she wanted.
I come from the type of home where everyone seems okay and then when everyone leaves its chaos. My parents should have been divorced years ago and I can't stand to be around either of them so for now I'm going day by day, only coming home to sleep and counting down the days until I go to college in August.

i cant decide where i want to go to college. i applied to 6 places and got into all of them. but now i realize that i absolutely dont want to go to 4 of them. so its between 2 schools.
im not going to use the names of the colleges but...
the first one is a fairly large school near a city, which i really want. but i've been reading reviews about this school and most are negative. they say "if your not white, rich, a smoker, and drinker, then you wont fit in" and not the last 3. so im just worried that the school is too much about partying.
the second place is a branch of a big school, so they have off campus housing. i would live in an apartment with 4 people. the only issue there is that im a girl and we'd have 2 girls and 2 guys in the apartment. the school itself seems nice, but im worried that i wont get the full college experience.
what do you think i should do? ive visited both places but i just cannot seem to get that moment where im like "this is the place i wanna go" please help! (link)
|
Honestly the "whole college experience" isn't for everyone. I go to a rich white school where a majority of the kids are here because of their parents' money, not for their intelligence. I've been in the party scene, the nerd scene, a combination of the both. I have a single but I live in a suite so I only share a bathroom with 7 other girls. To me the apartment idea sounds good although it is convenient to be on campus. I personally feel more mature than the college experience and I was over it after a couple months. Another thing to consider is that I'm at a small school, 20 minutes from a city, without a car. And the bus is kind of grimey so I avoid it. The school I really wanted is in that city and is walking distance to everything which is what I really wanted. Also, my dining hall has really strange hours that I either have class or am not awake for so I end up having to make food for myself a lot anyway.
So..if you're the type of person who is up at 1-3 in the morning, go for the city school. If you're fairly independent and like being on your own, go for the apartment.

I have a boyfriend who asked me if I wanted to experience a mènage à trois when we go to my friend's party in two weeks. I know it is sexy because we were talking about having sex at her house so I told him "yeah baby!" when I texted him back. I figured I would find out what it was when we were having sex but today he texted me and asked me to "pick the trois" and I have no clue what to do!
What are we going to be doing and what am I suppose to pick!?!
I am to embarrassed to ask anyone I know! (link)
| |
You just signed yourself up for a threesome...I suggest you learn some french before agreeing to anything. "trois" means three...so he asked you to pick another girl to join the two of you. Haha..if you're into that well then go ahead but if not you better go clear things up with him.

I have a lot of solos in my band class this year. And whenever I play, my face turns bright red, no matter how high the note. So If I have a solo, all the attention will be on my red face!! Does anyone know how I can just relax when I'm playing????? (link)
|
Its all in your breathing, depends on what you play also. I've played the clarinet in band for a good 10 years and my face would only get red if I was playing the highest of the notes or the lowest because they require the most air, but my friend's face would turn bright red all the time and she'd have this massive vein in her forehead that would pop out when she played. So I think it depends on the person, although it would have helped to know which instrument you play. With woodwinds it could depend on the size of your reed, higher number requires more air therefor, it could result in your face getting redder than it might if you were playing on a lower number reed.
Just remember that anyone who appreciates the music you're playing won't be paying that much attention to your face.

Hi
I have a 3 year old male cat, he has been pooping outside his box on a daily basis, this has been going on for a few months, its starting to get really annoying cleaning up the floor so much, I have 6 boxes in my house, I also have 4 other cats 2 males and 2 females, and a free roaming rabbit(that will occasionally use the boxes.) i can say that he is a very nervous cat, any noise or person he sees he runs, except for me.. due to what he has been doing, ive limited him to my room only cut off from the rest of the house, but when he sneaks out... around 12am ill later find his mess inches from the box. i dont know what the problem could be
thank you
(link)
|
This is going to sound a little ridiculous but my cat has an attitude problem and she takes revenge. If you're out of the house for too long or if you lock her in a room she gets pissed off and will purposely poop right next to her box, even if you're watching her. She's been like this since she was a kitten. Other than that she'll always go in the box.
Has the cat ever had a problem with the rabbit using its box before? Our cats wont touch a toy after the dog or ferret has touched it so maybe it doesn't like the smell of other animals?
Maybe you could give the cat its own box somehow? We've got 4 cats and 3 boxes, 2 of them normally go outside but they like their own boxes.

18/m in college
I recently broke up with my girlfriend. The issue was that about 4 months ago for whatever reason I started to worry about my future with her. We were long-distance and it had been about 3 months since our last visit and I think that I was starting to feel really far away from her. I couldn't conjure up the immense happiness I used to always feel when thinking about her and I guess I just started to worry that I was loosing my love for her. It started out only being something that would happen occasionally, but as the months went by, I began to worry and worry about it more and more. We used to always have great friendly conversations, no pressure, just talking, we were best friends. After a 3 months of this worrying though, I couldn't talk to her without starting to worry. Conversations might start out okay, but once the thought of that worrying would pop into my mind, the anxiety would hit me and I wouldn't enjoy talking anymore. I don't think I even knew what I was worried about. I just couldn't enjoy talking to her. we finally saw each other about 3 weeks ago and it was the same kind of deal. I we would really enjoy our time together, but I still had this thing in the back of my mind and when I thought about it only the slightest bit, I wouldn't be able to have fun. After I got home, I decided enough is enough and I ended the relationship. I felt horrible about it. but I just couldn't enjoy interactions with her anymore.
I think that through my worrying, I DID loose my love for her to some extent. It got to the point where, although we might get along well, I didn't feel the same way I used to feel about her. I miss everything we used to have so much and at the time, I don't think I even realized that i was worrying way too much. I don't think I even realized that was what the problem was.
I wish I could start over with her, but I just WORRY that if we do, I will put too much pressure on making things work and my negative thinking will only make things fail. I recognize now that my worrying is crippling, but I'm having the worst time trying to stop. I feel so weak against it. I cant get rid of it. any suggestions? Christian perspectives are welcome. 18/f, in college also
I was in this exact situation a few months ago. I feel like you read my mind word for word, its weird. I dated the guy for 7 and a half months and suddenly I started getting worried because we hadn't seen each other in over a month and I felt myself pushing away from him. At 8 months we had a really heart-breaking break up. I felt bad but almost free at the same time because I wasn't worried anymore. Then one day it hit me that I had acted ridiculous and made the biggest mistake. After 2 months of talking and begging him to take me back with the only explanation of "I was crazy and losing my mind" as the reason for our break up we are now together again. I worry about worrying again. I worry that we'll end up in the same situation and I'll lose the feeling. But now I know what its like to live without him and I never want to go through that again so I told myself that I would never let go of him and if we're losing touch with each other, we can work through it.
My advice to you would be to talk to her about everything that happened. If you get back together yes you will have those days where all you can think about is the break up but you have to really change your thinking, think for the present. Just take it a day at a time. If she is what makes you happy then there is no need to worry. As I tell you this you should know that I am also a work in progress with my worrying but so far my anxiety about our relationship has decreased soo much since the times near the break up. Long-distance is really hard but its not impossible. Keep telling yourself that you're determined to make it work and live for the now! We're still young...there's no need to worry.

i do alot of paintings on big canvases. i want to try something new, so does anyone have ideas of what i could paint using only four colors (including mixes and lighter/darker hues). bright hot pink, light blue, light aqua green and light medium purple. it does not have to be naturally thoes colors i can make anything them. any and as many ideas as possible would be greatly appreciated. i usually just do flowers or birds or some scenery. 15/f inspiration, any ideas, thanks!!! -blacksxeroses (link)

I do more abstract paintings that rarely look like anything but they come out pretty cool. I JUST finished one on an 18x24 canvas. Take whatever colors you want (I use acrylics) and with a 1"-2" brush just do vertical strokes. You can overlap the colors but just make sure they don't blend together because it'll lose the effect and probably just turn to a brown blob. It should be more like streaks of color. When you're done, take a spray bottle of water and spray the whole thing until the colors start to run.It looks cool when all the colors start dripping down.
I'd let the paint dry halfway before spraying it that way some of the color stays in place.

I am really confused about something: People always ask me what I am going to major in in college and I thought I understood what that meant until they started talking about "minoring" in something! What?! I am 18 now and not a minor in anything!
Can someone PLEASE explain what is the difference between a major and a minor in college?
Thank you! (link)
|
You don't have to have a minor. For most people their minor is either a back-up plan, a specialty of what they're majoring in (example, someone might be majoring in pre-med with a minor in psychology) or it may just be an interest of theirs. I'm a major in architecture but if I were to chose a minor I would either minor in fine arts or french. The classes I would take with a fine arts minor could help me in the long run with architecture and if I were to minor in french it would only be because I like the language.
Basically its like taking a second major but you'll take less of your "minor" classes than someone who was majoring in that subject.

I am seeing a LOT of questions about weed and I just want to know why so many people seem to be SO into this whole weed / pot thing?
I guess the answer would come from answering what's it feel like to be high on weed?
Anyone able to explain it well? I rate! (link)

I've smoked probably about 10 times in my life before I called it quits. It affects everyone differently though. Most of the time it just put the world in slow motion and made me really tired. One time I had smoked a lot and kept saying over and over again that "the world is so soft". It made me want to touch everything because I thought it would be really soft. Deep in my mind I knew how stupid I sounded but I couldn't really control what I was saying or think of a better way to explain myself. I started smoking because I have blood sugar issues that make me nauseous a lot so pot really helped with that.
For most, pot just takes away your worries. It relieves stress, but only until the high wears off and then you remember everything that made you stressed. I'm not really sure why so many people are into it. I think it's become more of a social thing than anything.

I got this phone around August, maybe July. This phone is absolute crap! IT SUCKS. If any of you have this phone too and the same problem let me know and let me know if verizon has fixed it or has sent a replacement.
My phone randomly shuts off. Sometimes when im recieving a call! it's redicilous. I'm getting sick of it... this happens maybe 2 times a day. Sometimes more, sometimes less. And sometimes when it shuts off and i turn it back on, MY WHOLE ENTIRE PHONE IS RESET. All my settings are put back to default! IM GETTING SICK OF CHANGING EVERYTHING BACK. It's so annoying! I saw that people had the same problems on phone review sites but they just returned it withen the 14 day period, im way over it. Any suggestions? (link)
| |
Two of my friends have them and they called the company and they were sent a refurbished one for free I believe and you can get an unlimited number of refurbished ones if they break. Otherwise just get a different phone? Isn't much you can do about it.

Ok so i just dumped my boyfriend and I don't know what to do now! I had my reasons but now i am not sure my reasons were good enough and i feel kinda stupid for dumping him.
what should I do? (link)
| |
To start, I'm going through the same thing. Go over all the reasons why you broke up with him, weather you still believe them now or not just remember the reasons. See if they still apply to him now. Example: He's too immature, and he still doesn't have a job. Well then the problem hasn't changed and if you two were to get back together then you'd have the same problem. Once you've thought about it and if you're 100% positive that you want to go back to your ex and you're not looking at any other guys then talk to him about it but DO NOT talk about it with him if you're not completely sure of what you want.

I'm just curious.
All my life every time I eat ice cream, eat cereal, drink a shake or a smoothie, I ALWAYS start coughing and clearling my throat multiple times for like fifteen minutes after.
All of these things have dairy in them.
So I'm thinking I might be a little bit allergic?
I get link a pinching in my throat that makes me need to cough or clear my throat. It;s not like a break out in hives or my throat puffs up so I can;t breath.
So if I am allergic, it's extremely minor enough that I can still consume dairy products.
But like I said, I'm just curious, do you think I'm allergic? (link)
| |
My boyfriend is alleric to dairy products and when he was younger his reactions were almost deadly but now he gets what looks like a black eye if he drinks milk. There's many differenty reactions so I suggest having your doctor do an allergy test
|
|
Where do we go when we are dead? what happens? do we come back as something or someone else? if we are dead there is no point of living. Think about it for a long moment (it makes me feel wierd.) don't say no one knows... unless NO ONE does know. It doesn't matter what religion you are (im christian) but i don't go to church... i'm like no religion lol. (link)
| |
I think people get confused with knowing and believing. They may believe you go to heaven or hell but do they know it? Knowing requires proof and so far nobody has come back to tell us all what heaven looks like. I personally believe in reincarnation but not into an animal form. I believe that as soon as you die you become a new human life. Its just what I believe, I don't know if this happens, I haven't died. I don't think someone should tell you to go to church so you know what happens. For the most part I don't have a religion. My mother taught me to believe in heaven but I got bored with the idea of sitting on a cloud for the rest of my "life" or whatever you do up there. Believe whatever you want because you'll never actually know until you die. And until that day live life to the fullest and enjoy every day that you have.

i'm on birth control, have been for about 3 yrs now. i was put on it by my doctor. well just about a yr ago i was put on a medication for my anxiety disorder. i've heard that medication basically cancels out your birth control. is this true? wouldn't you think my doctor would have told me this when she prescribed my medication, because she is the one i went to for both my bc and the medication. (link)
| |
I would check with her again or ask another doctor. Doctors make mistakes, one doctor gave my grandmother a combination of medication that made her have Alzheimer-like symptoms, changed doctors and medications and she was back to normal. I'd definitely ask, I know antibiotics can cancel out birth control so its possible.

I really want to make my room more "me", but I don't really know where to start. I don't like a single thing in it. I'm all about peace, so I want my room to somehow reflect that. I was going to paint the walls green or blue. I was thinking of putting up a bunch of posters too, but I'm not sure where I'd find them. I have carpet so I can't really get any rugs or anything. I don't know. What all can I do to make it more personal? (link)
| |
If you want peace and nature type of thing I'd go with a light leafy green. Then you could pick a wall to do a peace stencil in. I think white would look good. It'd be really calming so the peace signs wouldn't take over the room. PBTeen has a lot of organic bedding too but I know Delia's has peace sign bedding. As far as posters go, maybe target? If not I got a poster from a company called DormCentral? I think. And they had a lot of them. Maybe paint the ceiling a light blue?

What's YOUR view on long distance relationships?
xx (link)
| |
Alright I would never consider a 30 minute drive to be long distance. I live in a rural area, my boyfriend went to the school in the next town over but it was still about 25 minutes to get to his house, yet I still saw him everyday. Now we're 4 and a half hours apart. He's in New York and I'm in Rhode Island. Yes its hard and frustrating but you can't let the little things get between you. Like when our schedules don't work out for a phone call that lasts more than 5 minutes. I see him once a month now and watching him leave never gets any easier but we're still just as strong and if not stronger than we were when we spent every minute together. Long distance relationships are worth it if the relationship is strong enough. One of the girls in my dorm suite just had her boyfriend break up with her because of the distance and they're a lot closer than I am to my boyfriend. They hadn't been dating long and I don't think their connection was strong enough for them to be separated. So overall, it depends on the relationship. In my case I know he's worth it.

Hi i recently met this girl, didnt really have much of a conversation with her but asked her if she wanted to hang out sometime. She said sure, so i asked her a couple minutes ago if she wanted to get coffee. If she says yes, then how do I prevent awkward silence while we are together, seeing as i dont really know to much about her? (link)
| |
I started dating my boyfriend after knowing him for a week. We played 20 questions for a long time. Eventually you'll ask a question that will remind you or her of a memory, then she'll tell the story and you'll have a conversation. It worked for us and eventually you know so much about them that there aren't any questions to ask. Just let her know its a game. Like say "lets play a game" and then do it. Otherwise it might seem like you're putting her on trial if you just ask her a bunch of questions.

How do you know? I mean, I don't actually know if there is love or not really. I don't think I've ever felt that emotion. Is it like in the movies? Butterflies and all of that? Or is it something else? Can anybody describe it? (link)
|
My best friend asked me the exact same question a few months ago and I wrote her an email with the response so now I'm giving that to you..
so you asked what its like to be in love and i had to think about it..so i did and came up with a few things.
a)you tell them you love them but the actual words 'i love you' don't seem like nearly enough. they seem way to simple and plain compared to what you actually want to say.
b)they become your partner..which is weird because i'm so used to being independant and it would feel weird if you went somewhere without them. Like the other day me and 2 friends went to the mall without the guys, weird day. I kept turning around to look for him, then remembering that he didn't come along. In a way you feel like you grow as a person. You don't loose your individuality but they become your other half.
c)you can't wait to see them! My graduation day i was with my boyfriend allll day and then we went back to his house and i slept over, left around noon and came back at 5 for his graduation. i was only gone for 5 hours but i still get excited to see him again.
d)they make you feel like you are god. one time he randomly texted me and said "have i ever told you that you're everything i've ever wanted?"

When I was 12 I had my first kiss with this boy that i really liked at the movies, and it was pretty funny it was bad lol. but after that i learned that its not that big of a deal lol and the rest were better ha so anyone have funny first kiss experinces? (link)
| |
Mine was in my first boyfriend's grandma's computer room. We were talking to my best friend online and she asked if we had kissed yet and I typed "not yet but hold on" and as my boyfriend at the time was walking out the door I grabbed him and turned him around and kissed him, very sloppily and I tripped a little on my own foot so he had to catch me. I laugh about it now but I'm still secretly a little mortified. Haha
