Personalizing & re-doing my room

Question Posted Saturday September 19 2009, 10:12 pm

I really want to make my room more "me", but I don't really know where to start. I don't like a single thing in it. I'm all about peace, so I want my room to somehow reflect that. I was going to paint the walls green or blue. I was thinking of putting up a bunch of posters too, but I'm not sure where I'd find them. I have carpet so I can't really get any rugs or anything. I don't know. What all can I do to make it more personal?

copy & past this address have a look you'll be quite inspired to decorate your personl space.
I googled accent colours but there are many sites about interior design success comes from understanding how colour works together well the secret is 60.30.10 that is 60% on 3 walls 30% feature wall furninshings 10% accent soft furbishing cushions rugs etc. ask a friend to give you a hand. Good luck

Go to Target! They have lots of really cute dorm stuff right now. And a lot of it is reduced on clearance too.

You could still get an accent rug, just get one of those anti slip mat things to put underneath.

Pictures, mirrors, and posters really help. Plus they aren't permanent besides a tiny hole in the wall =) You can find them anywhere, but craft stores like Michael's or AC Moore will have a lot of cheap prints. Good luck!

If you want peace and nature type of thing I'd go with a light leafy green. Then you could pick a wall to do a peace stencil in. I think white would look good. It'd be really calming so the peace signs wouldn't take over the room. PBTeen has a lot of organic bedding too but I know Delia's has peace sign bedding. As far as posters go, maybe target? If not I got a poster from a company called DormCentral? I think. And they had a lot of them. Maybe paint the ceiling a light blue?

you can get like a peace sign stencil, not sure if you like peace signs but yea,,. and spray paint the peace sign on your wall. how bout a soft yellow with an accent wall of a cute blue. that seems like peaceful calm colors. black and white pictures seems peaceful. definitely get some candles or insense (not sure if i spelled that right) and make sure its that calm cool smell. and like if you have any favorite bands or artists or like pictures of friends and family you could make a door collage, just post it all up on the inside of your door. its cool for people to look at when they come in. and you can slowly keep adding to it
