Well my teacher always jokes aorund and I know that teachers always tend to poke a little with students for jokes and mean no harm but I am very sensitive and it hurts really bad.
Well my teacher decided to just joke around by telling the class "Wow you should really stop smoking! Everyone, whenever you see her, tell her to stop smoking; it's really bad!". I was just a little offended by the little poke but he's my favourite teacher and I know that he didn't mean any harm so I just smiled and just let it off.
Well, we got our yearbooks today and THREE classmates from that class signed their name and wrote STOP SMOKING, which hurt me deeply because first of all, what is my dad going to say when he reads this? And second of all, I'm secretly a perfectionist and smoking is DEFINITELY against my morals so it didnt' matter at first but now that people actually ENGRAVED it onto paper and it will be there permanently, I just don't know what to do.
Thsi is going to..haunt me! How can I get over this, suck it up, and let it go? I'm in highschool but I feel like i have a heart of a baby! What do I do? What CAN I do? (link)

I suppose I could do what the other posters did , and tell you what you want to hear. However I am going to give it to you straight instead. My advice though is contingent on the fact that you do smoke. If you don't smoke , you teacher is out of line and slandering your name. If that is the case you need to address it immediately. I don't really know what you could say to show your point , but something about him that isn't true. ie; "Hey Mr. Teacher, I read in the paper that you were a registered sex offender. That's weird that you are allowed to teach school" hahaha that probably isn't the way to go, but if you were to ask him to stop saying that and used that for an example of how would he feel, maybe it'd be ok. I am getting off track here.
OK then , I assume you ARE a smoker, AND you are underage, right? Well if that is the case then it's actually against the law for you to smoke, it's bad for you, and it's your teacher's and parents obligation to do what they can to help you keep on the right path.
Instead of being offended or thinking he's teasing you, you should take it for what it is. A caring gesture to help you stay healthy.
As a minor who smokes, it is also your responsibility to keep it secret, and not get caught. The fact that your teacher is aware that you smoke is your fault, and you kind of brought this hazing on yourself.
It's obvious that your teacher cares about your well being, and it's his job to try and dissuade you from smoking.
Any adult who didn't comment on it, is maybe a little unethical.
If you smoke and were confident enough to let adults find out that you are a smoker; says to me that you aren't very ashamed of your habit. Maybe instead of being embarrassed you should be confident of your choices, and tell your teacher that you understand he's looking out for you , but bringing your personal shortcomings up in class is really embarrassing to you , and ask him nicely to please stop. However he is under no obligation to stop, in fact he is actually duty bound to hound you about it. I actually think he is in his rights to call your parents out of concern.
I am sorry if that isn't what you wanted to hear , but I think sometimes the truth isn't what we want to hear.

I went to google images and googled Ivan the terrible, and I was actually surprised by his looks. I mean he actually dressed semi-regal. Although he looks very cruel, and that makes him look less like royalty. He wore Thick ornate robes.

I am not sure that those particular courses will help you become anything other than a teacher or a counselor, but I believe that those courses will enrich your life.
All of those courses offer an insight into people and cultures throughout time and throughout the world.
Even if it won't get you a job by themselves, I think they WILL give you a better understanding of the way people and society work, and that is what will help your career.
Also even those the classes in particular won't necessarily grant you the career of your choice; the degree that you end up with will definitely open up doors for you.
I think these courses will do more for you than you know. The only downside to taking those classes is the fact that they won't get you a job.
Sociology and Philosophy though are important things to learn though just for you to learn.
I hope you enjoy those courses.
BTW Philosophy was my all time favorite course, and it really helped me to understand myself and the world around me a lot better.
I apologize for rambling and not giving a good answer. These classes will be valuable to you, but it is hard to put into words why. :D

In theory I am a firm believer in capital punishment; however I do have a problem with it. Like one of the other posters said, something like 127 death row prisoners have been found innocent due to new technology.
I think that maybe if some new parameters were set to ensure that innocent men weren't sent to the gallows, I could really get behind it.
I think that the victims or families of the victims should have a say also.
I think the inmate should have the say also to say they would like the death sentence. ( I believe some have actually asked and been denied )
I think they need to make it cheaper too. I am under the impression that it costs nearly double to execute someone than to keep them locked up for their entire lives.
That is something else altogether. I think if it was cheaper I'd always go capital , but if it's more expensive, then keep them locked up. I think being locked up forever is definitely worse punishment.

I used to suffer from low self esteem too. One day I sort of realized that EVERYONE suffers from low self-esteem. Everyone's life pretty much sucks. Everyone thinks they aren't good enough at whatever they wish they were good at.
Look at all the supermodels and actors with eating disorders or drug addictions.
If you have low self-esteem....welcome to the club.
Try focusing on the stuff you are good at. Also as goofy as it sounds, self affirmations really do help. You know the look at yourself in the mirror and say nice things; "You are a success","You are a good person"," People admire you for your honesty"
I think it works by just being heard. You probably hear 20 negs to every positive in real life, and just the hearing good things about yourself , even from yourself are remembered by your subconscious and will begin to help elevate your self esteem.
Another thing that helps is to talk to a friend about it. Ask them if they ever feel that way.
BTW Just by reading your post I can tell that you are a caring person. I mean you opened by apologizing for maybe not using the forum correctly and ended with a please. That actually does say a little about your character. There aren't many people left in this day and age that give a crap about being polite or doing things in the correct manner. In my eyes that alone makes you a better person than a whole slew of people out there.

alrite, long story short: i work at this drama place where my usally i called \"good friend\" back stabbed me and telling every one shit about me that is not true, they call me sluts that there is no way to be found also where i work there is a lots of old people where they have no life and love to talk about things like this, now when some one really likes me and want to ask me out on a date, that they would go and \"warn\" them to watch out, im a bad girl and leave me alone.
i guess its kind of my fault to, cause im too nice i cant tell if they are setting me up. i tell them about my boy troubles and they spread them with nasty words. i dont kno if you guys have ever played the game call spread the words, where people sit in a circle and pass down the sentence or word people by people and the sentence end up some thign completely differnent!!! thats the situation im in, where every one in the restruant think im some kind of a bad girl and spread shitty rumors about me. i dont want to quit the job, b/c its easy and its not my fault why would i quit rite???

I don't think it's as simple as acting like it doesn't bother you, I mean not if you plan on keeping that job.
I think you really have no choice but to confront the situation.
Obviously someone told you that these rumors have been being spread, so without a doubt you can figure out WHO is saying these things.
Wait until there are multiple people around who have told you these rumors were being spread and confront the entire situation.
It will be very tough to do, but I don't see how you will be able to get any satisfaction unless you do.
What is the worst that could come of confronting the major players in this?

Don't be silly, of course not all men are like that. Although a lot of young men are trying to show off, or get as many as they can. Out of all my unmarried friends, I think only one of them is how you described. I think maybe you are hanging out with the wrong circle of people.

Ok here's the prob. I have a major problem tolerating annoying people. Example people who say they don't like Obama only for the fact he's black. I don't care what there opinion is but if that's the only reason then really it makes me just want to punch them in the throat. And then I have to read this really long book in a group and these two people, all they do is flirt all the time and poke each other. I ended up having to do all the work and really it PISSES me off sooo bad. Please help me before I kick someone's knee caps in. (link)

Wow, you and I are living parallel lives my friend. I am severely annoyed by the same things myself, and I used to have a lot of trouble in my life over it. In fact I actually bitch-slapped my supervisor for playing that pokey flirty game with a new girl. I got fired for that by the way. That is the point. Don't ruin your day by having it effect you so much. I came to realize that there is absolutely NOTHING I can do to change these people except to lead by example. I also noticed that I am not the only one that sees this stuff going on; even though it seems like when they say that stupid crap it's ok , but if you or I made that same Obama remark someone would get pissed at you and say you are racist.
However you don't need to withdraw or NOT say anything; you just need to stop and think of how to say it.
Like for instance the Obama thing you could reply, "Wow!! I would've never taken you for a racist." or change the subject to one that suits you like "Race isn't the issue to me, my problem is ...blah blah blah" and control the conversation.
As for the poking and flirting. I would have no problem asking if they are embarrassed to have me do all their work while they flirted?
That is another situation too where other people see that it's happening. I mean honestly besides tattling or whining , what can you really do?
You can make sure to say something to them first, then just do the best job that you possibly can. There are two good things that will come from that 1. Whatever project you are doing will get to be mostly of your design.
2. Whoever is in charge does notice that that is happening and you will either get more credit than they will or more respect.
If as a last resort all this fails to give you any satisfaction at all. You can weigh all the pro's and all the cons, and if the math works out for you.
Go ahead and punch the jerkoff in the throat.
Sometimes the satisfaction of standing up for yourself is worth the consequences. I mean probably 1 day in jail, 1 assault in the 4th degree, 26 anger management classes at $30 a piece, 1 year probation, and a $750 fine.
If you already have a police record most of that won't even effect your future.

There's a folder with my ALL my music. Well a while ago, I was deleting stuff on my computer to free space. I don't know what I did wrong but now I can't open my music folder!!! ;[ When I try to open it, it says "the drive or network connection that the shortcut 'Sample Music.lnk' refers to is unavailable. Make sure that the disk is properly inserted or the network resource is available, and then try again." Now all of my songs on iTunes won't work. =| I know all the songs are still on my hard drive somewhere, because when I searched for some songs, I found them. I don't want to have to seach for every song on my computer D: because I don't have every song in iTunes so iTunes wouldn't be a very good source that lists the songs I could possibly search for. How can I fix this? Does anyone know what I could do? x[ (link)

It looks to me like you moved the original music folder and your shortcut is broken.
step 1 find where the music is located at.
step 2 Right click on the shortcut and goto properties
step 3 In the target text box put the path to the music.
step 4 In Itunes you may have to reimport that folder.
You could also do the opposite. Look at the properties of the shortcut to see where the music USED to be and then go make sure that the music is there. Then you shouldn't have to reimport the folder.

Yes , I definitely recommend it. The great thing about the g1 is the android os. It is open-source, meaning everyone has access to the programs source code and can make changes to it or build apps for it.
This means that soon there will be TONS of free apps that will work on it.
I actually think android will eventually be the market leader for phone os's

I think both the zune and the ipod are good media players, but I prefer the ipod and here's why.
When you plug in a zune and go to "my computer" there is no zune. On the other hand , when I plug in an ipod and go to "my computer" , there is a 30gb drive there.
This is great 'cause with an ipod I can use it for portable storage.
I even put an os image on an ipod and was able to boot from it.
Also I had a 5gb I pod mini that the scroll wheel and the display both didn't work , but I could use it for a flash drive.
If that had happened on a zune it would just be garbage.
I think the ipod is a better investment.

crunches have NOTHING to do with having a flat stomache. It is a common misconception. When you do crunches you are building muscle. What you need to do is burn fat, so your idea of running is definitely a step in the right direction. When you already have a flat stomache, crunches will then help to define the musculature. I suggest that you do some running and wear a sweat belt while you do it. Then make sure to do some crunches. Also muscle burns calories very well , so if you build some more muscle , the fat will come off a lot easier.

I think generally most guys accept and admire that answer. It also helps them to gain respect for you.
Although there is one situation that I think it is bad.
That's when the girl is very adamant that she won't do anything at all sexual until marriage.
I think a large percentage of guys think it's a waste of their time to pursue it in that case.
If your reason though is that you just aren't ready(which at your age should definitely be the case) guys will usually respect that. At least guys you want to have a relationship with.

At 16 , if he's healthy, just about anything. A hug or a slow-dance is even enough. I remember getting them for NO reason at all in the morning. It was really stressful to have a boner and see that class was gonna end in 5 minutes.

Sometimes i wake up at night with the strangest feeling. Its really hard to explain but im gonna try. Its like my whole body is freaking out, like my arms and legs feel restless and so weird, like i need to get up and move them around. My heart doesnt really race so im not sure if its some kind of anxiety thing. Its not restless leg syndrome, its mostly my arms and upper body. But i wake up with this horrible feeling. Its not really pain, which is why its hard to explain. I have no idea what it is but when it happens it keeps me awake for at least an hour. i toss and turn over and over, like its somehow gonna make it go away. Does anybody have any idea what im talking about? again its really hard to describe. (link)

I get the same thing. I actually believe it IS restless leg syndrome.I also believe it is worse with dehydration. Also if you happen to be on any pain relief programs like vicodin or percocet. That feeling is definitely part of the withdrawal symptoms.
I think the only thing you can do though is to make sure you are properly hydrated.
The doctor put me on all kinds of weird meds for it , but hydration worked the best.

Guys are sometimes weird after they have had sex with a girl. I'll bet his problem lies in the fact that he wants you to do more, but is uncomfortable saying anything.
He might also feel that since you didn't go farther, that you are not attracted to him.
The best advice I can give you though, is to be open with him and tell him how you feel he's been acting. I'll bet that if you do that , he will open up to you.
My advice is also to not let him push you into going further until you are ready.

I think lots of people feel that way; although it is shallow. I also think it will acheive exactly the opposite of your goal.
If you want to attract guys, make sure you are in the top two lookers in the group. Lucille Ball had it in her I love lucy contract that "Ethel" had to remain 10 pounds heavier than lucille ball.
I think that that may be how you should do it.
Make sure the girls in your group are attractive , just not as attractive as you.
Also make sure they are heavier than you.

I agree with Theymos. Audacity is an exellent opensource project. I use it all the time. The interface is semi-fugly , but the functionality is excellent. There are also tons of tutorials out there for it.
