One you become sexually active it is best to see your gynaeocolgist.
They will periodically give you cervical smear tests.
This is nothing to worry about.
They are a little uncomfortable but not painful and they are just to check that your insides are all healthy!

I'm a 16 year old girl, and I don't shave my legs or armpits on any regular basis. I'll do them for special occassions or if I'm wearing a special outfit, but most of the time the hair just doesn't bother me so I don't bother removing it. I figure that it's my body, and my time and energy that I'm saving by not shaving, but sometimes I worry that guys won't be interested in me because of this and I've got to the age where I wish guys expressed more interest in me. Should I start shaving, or should I just wait for a guy who doesn't mind me being me? (link)

To be honest I didn't shave religiously at your age either, like you I'd shave if I was wearing a skirt or a dress or was going somewhere special but other than that I didn't bother!!
The only person that really saw my body other than me was my boyfriend and he didn't really mid one way or the other.
As long as you are comfortable with your own body then that's fine!!

It's fine to cry, if my dog died I would be inconsolable!! You get close to your pets and they become like a friend.
A friend that loves you no matter what, a friend that you can talk to and they won't repeat what you're saying.
They live for you and they would die protecting you.
So no, despite what your friends might say it is not stupid to cry over a dog dying!

My freckles are really dark and ugly. Any ideas on how to make them fade permanently or temporarily? Can I get rid of them? Please help! I'm tired of being covered in polka-dots, whether they are angel kisses or not! (link)

There is no natural way of getting rid of them.
I'm afraid that lemon juice may lighten them a little, but it won't be a great deal and it won't last very long.
Lemon juice is full of a mild acid so it may irritate your skin if you use it too often.
The best way to disguise them is to use a really good foundation with a built in sunscreen as exposure to the sun will make your freckles more prominent.
Another alternative is to get a facial tanner, and tan your face so it blends in with the colour of your freckle.
Obviously this only works if your freckles are light.

I think lilac/purple goes really well with green!
If you are really hot on green then get a green bedspread but too much of a good thing can sometimes be bad!
If you do go for all green then make sure you have a few other colours as pillows, pictures etc to accessorise with and it'll look fantastic!!

Hi, I'm 14/f living in California if that helps.
Anyway, my parents are getting a divorce and it's been very difficult- my dad is a chronic liar (diagnosed by 3 doctors but refuses treatment). While married to my mom he had a girlfriend for 3 years. She got pregnant and had a baby boy and he mostly lived with his girlfriend and the baby for 1 year, then my mom finally decided to divorce him. The current arrangement we have is that my 12-year-old brother and I live at my mom's and see my dad every other sunday at 11:00. The problem is that my dad wants half of our house (he wants us to sell it even though he promised in march he would let us keep the house) and that he insists he and my mom have been seperated since 1998 when they have only been seperated since march 2004 (if he tells the truth he will have to pay more money). My mom has a great lawyer who's working very hard, but the court is kind of against us- my dad's friend Al is the bailiff.
Al is a nice guy, though my dad is not, and he and my dad used to be friends because they were both police officers in Oakland. One day as they were making an arrest there was a fire (no one is sure quite how). Al was trapped and my dad saved his life, but Al got some brain damage (I'm not sure how severe it is). Now Al owes my dad big-time so the court is biased against us, basically. Is there anything my mom can do about:
(A) The date of seperation (if needed my brother and I can attest to when they seperated)
(B) Him forcing her to sell the ohuse (not yet but he will and we will have to move far away, it costs a lot to live where we do)
(C) the court being biased?

I am no big shot on law especially when it comes to American law!
I have spoken to one of my friends Ashlie who comes from California and apparently your Mom can put up a petition to keep hold of your house until you and your brother are both 18 or until you leave full time education - whichever is first.
As for the fact that your Dad knows the bailiff don't worry about that.
If your Mom's lawyer is half as good as you say he will not let this affect the case in any way.
And this Al guy is only the bailiff.
He is not the judge and it is for the judge to decide.

sorry, didn't know what category to put this in. i get really bad razor burn/ bikini bumps. i get razor burn on my legs too but they go away and the ones on my bikini area don't! i use shaving cream and a fresh razor blade (venus) and i put on lotion and neolsporen (sp?) when i'm done but its still not going away! so my question is:
a) how can i make it go away now
b) how can i prevent it in the future
c) will waxing or somehting else help... or hurt?

I would personally reccomend waxing.
It's hurts for the 30 seconds that it takes to pull the wax strip off but you don't get razor burn or itchy re-growth!!
Another thing you could try is depilatory cream - we have Immac and Nair over here in the UK - not sure what the brand names are over there but if you just ask for hair removal cream at the drugstore then they'll be able to pooint you in the right direction.
If you do decide to go for the cream option then but the sensitive one and do a patch test and leave it for 24 hours as it uses quite strong chemicals and if you have sensitive skin you don't wanna smother yourself in it only to find you have an allergic reaction!!!

Make sure that you are relaxed when you are trying to insert it.
You won't get anywhere if your muscles are all tense.
Push it in toward your lower back and make sure you push it high inside you otherwise it will be uncomfortable.

The best gift (and memory!) I was ever given was a star. My ex-fiance bought me a star for my 21st.
He didn't give me anything on my birthday when I woke up except a little envelope with a cartoon star on the front and a card saying all will be revealed.
He picked me up from work at 8pm and took me to a Country Park where he had laid out a picnic for us with candles and champagne and all my favourite foods, then he got a telescope out of the back of his car and trained it on the star he had bought me and explained he bought me a star so that wherever he was in the world he would be both be able to look up and see my star!!
We also saw saturn that night - it was the best memory I have - ever!
It doesn't matter what you buy or how much/little it costs as long as you put thought into it then your partner will love it, although one thin I will say is that women love mystery!!
Try and keep her guessing!!

My aunt had one done. It cost her £500 and made her skin red raw for weeks!!!
The best thing you can do is look after your skin - wear sunscreen as Baz Luhrmann said!!
If you really think that you want one of these done, then discuss it with your parents and if they think you really need one then they can take you to a registered cosmetic surgeon/ beauty therapist.
DO NOT buy one of those checmcal peels from stores - they will do you more harm than good!!!
I tried one and it felt like I'd really badly sunburnt my face. It felt raw and tight for weeks!

There are 2 options.
1) Handwash them all. I usually handwash anything made of silk or other very delicate materials with fairy handwash soap that you use for babies washing!!
2) Shove them all in a pillowcase and whack them in on a 30-40 degree wash with gentle spin.

It can take up to a year for a normal healthy couple to concieve.
This is increased if either of you are overweight, smoke or drink, and can also be affected if you have previously been on the contraceptive pill, injection, patch etc etc.
If you still have no joy after trying for a year then I would consult your Gynaecologist.
Another thing that may help is a home-test ovulation kit which will tell you when you are most fertile, try to have lots of sex around this time, both before and after.
