I've been using the Metacafe downloader to download videos my harddrive is on the fritz and will crash soon.
How do I find the video files that are on my computer (that I have saved using the MetaCafe client) so I can transfer them to my hard drive.
BTW, I know about the 'Saved Item' tag and that's not what I'm looking for.
I also Googled this and couldn't find anything.

go to start>search and search for "*.avi" without quotes, but with the asterisk. Replace avi with different file types to get them all. Some common video file types:
.wmv
.mov
.rm
.avi
.mpg

Ok. A long while back, my mom had this Windows 98 computer. Then she got an XP and gave me the 98. It worked great for years. Then we put it in the closet for about a year because my brother had taken the internet thingie out of the computer. NOW I tried hooking it back up and it says "Searching for BOOT diskette. Place in A:" I have no idea what that is. Can you guys tell me how to fix the diskette problem and how to put internet back in? Thanks.
It sounds like it can't find the hard drive, either it's unhooked or broken. Turn off the computer, and open it up. Find the hard disk; here's a picture of one:

Now, find the cord that's coming out of it that looks like this:

make sure it's hooked to the motherboard(biggest board on the base). If it's not, hook it up to the connector shown here(if there's two of them, guess and change it if it dosn't work):

If it's already connected, the hard drive may be broken. To test it, put a blank floppy in a windows xp computer, go to start>my computer and right click on the A drive. click format, then "create a boot disk/dos disk" and click format. Put that in the broken computer and restart it. If you get a prompt that looks like:
A:\>_
then it's almost definitely the hard drive, and you'll have to have it replaced. If it dosn't show up, open the computer(with it off) and make sure everything inside is plugged in. If it still won't show up, take it to a computer repair place. To get the internet to work, get the modem/ethernet card that he took and put it into a slot that looks like this:

Okay, at our school, for the marching band there are two guys who conduct the whole thing from a raised platform and they're called drum majors and I was wondering if it was the same for other marching band conducting people. If so, why are they drum majors? From what I know, the conductors at my school don't play drums...so why are they called that and how do you become one?

right 5 years ago in rugby a guy went into my coler bone knee first my coller bone snapped in half hit my vertebre in my neck and fractured it. i went to hospital had to wear a neckbrace for a few months right its 5 years later now. and ever since i broke my neck it keeps cracking . everyone finds it discusting but if i crack it it feels really nice and not cramped any more can any one tell me why it cracks and is it bad for me??
not much is known about cracking joints, not even what causes the sounds. Many people say it causes arthritis, but there is no conclusive evidence. It probably feels good because it temporarily numbs the area around the bones. I've found that if I crack my neck every day for months, it will start to get stiff and sore. After some time of not cracking it, it returns to normal. What you should probably do, is crack it only with the muscles in your neck, and not your hands, or only do it once in a while.

Ok, I've been looking at broadband providers and the connection speeds that they are offering. They have a list of possible connection types e.g. 256/128, 2048/128, 4096/512 and so on.
Could someone please explain to me how to interpret these numbers (as in exactly what each one means and what the download and upload speed would be).

it's download/upload. 256/128=256kbps(kilobits per second) download and 129kbps upload. More is better. DSL gets up to 2000kbps, cable up to 10,000, dial-up is between 40 and 140.

I don't understand why governments don't just unite [I know it's naive] and face the problems that we have, especially global warming.
