My name is Jesseca. I live in a small town, but I have big city ideas. People here do not have open minds, they aren't cultured, they're everything I don't want to be. So let me share with you what I know, how I feel, and just plain how things are.

Another thing - If you rate me a one, guess what? I don't really mind. If I answer your question - I obviously tried to answer it the best I possibly could.

If your question was extremely stupid and the solution to your problem extremely easy - I don't feel bad for telling you so.

Ok, im 13/F and im semi-cool. What I mean is the guys like me as a friend and stuff and Im never alone on a slow dance. I also hang out with the popular kids. See but people say im too nice and too smart and I find that lots of people are calling me a looser behind my back. I know I shouldnt care but it does affect me. All my clothes are brand name and Ive never done anything to the people "above" me. This one girl (shes in top 3) has started alotta rumors about me and even though everyone at school thinks I dont mind so they ALL play along it still hurts. Im really good friends with all the guys and I was wondering what I could do to well........be more popular. (Please no U shouldnt care or stuff like that, I already know that but I do so ya) (link)
"Above" you?

Oh sweetie... you're priorities are all askew.

But you say you care about this business.

Alright - you're thirteen. Realize, in about two or three years, this popularity crap will be the last thing on your mind. The friends you have now won't even matter to you.

It doesn't matter what clothes you wear, or any business like that.

Popularity, if you strip all the Hollywood hype away, is simply a judgement on your personality. Do people like you as a person? Because if they don't you'll end up all alone with no friends at all in a few years.

This girl who is spreading rumors about you, ought to just be slapped, in my personal opinion.

I know you'll think this is really bad advice right now - but in the long run, you'll come to understand.

JUST BE YOURSELF.

If people don't like the real you, they'll really hate the fake you.

So I asked the question about dying my hair blonde. People said that if I didn't like it, and I dyed it back, it would turn out RED? (or redish)
Why/how would this happen? (link)
That's untrue.

The only way your hair will turn red is if you're unprofessionally dying your hair blonde from a darker color.

Example: black to blonde = red splotches.

brown to blonde = dusty red and/or extremely faded brown.

If you dye your hair blonde - and then dye it back to a darker color, it will NOT turn red.

Hey!
I was wondering some places that have skinny jeans. I found some at Gap but they were like $50. I think I would like to pay less than that because I dont know how long the fashion is going to stay around for, and I dont want to spend alot of money on something that will be gone in 2 months. Thanks sooo much!!! (link)
From what I hear, skinny jeans are wayy in.
I personally don't like them - so if I'm wrong blame either that fact or the fact that I live in the midwest and we're the last to recieve fashion trends.

Anyway, try any clothing store. I know Hot Topic has them, possibly Old Navy. Vanity, Rave/Lola.

When the song "Swing, Swing" by the All American Rejects begins, what is that noise right before the organs? (link)
There's no word. It's just the lightest organ starting.

My hair has got to be the most boring hair on the planet. It is super straight and all I can do is leave it down, but it gets staticy by the end of the day, ponytail, but not high cuz i get bumps in it, or down w/ headband or clip which is my favorite. not that i like it. its just the best of the lowsy three. I want to scrunch (is that what its called?) my hair, but I don't know how... any advice on how some cool new styles that are fairly simple? it would be GREATLY appreciated.
13/f (link)
There is nothing wrong with super straight hair. In fact, I used to have INSANELY curly hair. But after a few chemical treatments, and a wonderful flat iron - I have super straight hair too.

But my hair doesn't matter.

It's yours that matters.

Now, considering I'm older than you - and the fact that my mother allows me to have as much freedom concerning my appearance as I want - some of my advice may not work for you.

Have you considered a haircut? Layers work freaking wonders. I drew pictures of my last haircut and had someone I trust a lot follow it. It was almost exact. My hair is shot - now since you say you can actually have a ponytail, I'm considering your hair is longer than my own. So I'm actually going to show you several pictures of several different people with different lengths of hair.

This first one is me, layers in the back (what's referred to as being "stacked" and longer in the front, framing the face, no bangs, dyed color.)

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v722/xTie_Her_Downx/5cfd7f3c.jpg

This second one is my cousin/bestfriend/fellow hair cutter of the world, Ashley. Her hair is a lot shorter than mine, blonde, and done by Ashley herself.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v722/xTie_Her_Downx/ashohleeandme001.jpg

This third picture is my little sister, Samantha. Her hair is not naturally that color so ignore that, and it's layered to her shoulders. Sam's hair is actually extremely fried. She uses a flat iron, and sometimes (don't laugh, because I'm serious) uses a clothes iron on her hair. Her hair is not fried because of these two things. It's friend from prior perms/hair dyes.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v722/xTie_Her_Downx/me-1.jpg

Alright, so if cutting your hair isn't an option - styling your hair is the next best thing. You say leaving it in a ponytail makes it staticy? Try french braiding it, personally, I think french braids are super cute. I use a lot of hair clips - little kids clips are way cute and so are really old vintage ones that take a little searching to find. The brighter, the bigger, the more distracting it is from your "boring hair" the better.

Scrunching your hair.

There are products that allow your hair to do this. I personally don't think they work too well on people with naturally straight hair - so that's just a warning. Aussie has this stuff called "SCRUNCH" it's a spray. You spray it in your hair, and then brush your hair, and then take your fingers and do the "scrunching" part.

Sorry if my description of that wasn't any helpful.

Another way to do it, is to try scrunching it, without product, before you go to sleep.

It works for me, but take note - my hair is naturally curly.

I hope something I said helps.

hey im a tomboy and some girls are not at my school what do i do i dont want to change? (link)
Why would this be a problem? Not everyone has to be the same. There is such a diverse group of people living in this world that it shouldn't matter one lolli-licking second.

Be who you want to be. And if these girls don't like who you are, flip them the effing bird for crying out loud!

i downloaded bearshare in the summer so i wouldnt waste all my money on itunes. well i could download the songs then transfer them to my itunes, convert them to AAC files, put them on my ipod, and id be set. like last week the bearshare version i had stopped working, so i downloaded it again and now apparently theres a new updated version. i downloaded a song today and when i tried to transfer it today a popup came up on itunes and "one or more songs including blah blah blah is in the WMA format. Itunes will automatically convert them to AAC format so they can be added to your music library". so i clicked ok. right after another popup came up and said "One or more songs being added are in the protected WMA format and can not be converted". ughh so is there no way to put them in my itunes at all?? (link)
I've never personally used bearshare.

But yes, there should be a way to get them onto your iPod.

Can you not make the songs into a playlist and convert them to your media player?

If that doesn't work try downloading limewire.

i was thinking of getting my 12 year old cousin this bag from abercrombie for christmas: http://www.abercrombiekids.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10101&catalogId=10851&parentCategoryId=12103&childCatgroupId=12103&categoryId=12148&productId=2&langId=-1 in white.. && i was wondering if it would be to big for a 12 year old ? im buying it for her as a purse, not a bookbag. thanks! (link)
Actually, it just depends.

Reguardless of what the first person who answered this question said - it can be used as either a purse or a bookbag.

It's your cousins personal preference.

A "tote bag" has no specific purpose, other than to "tote" things around.

I have one, it's slightly smaller than I would like it to be. Of course, it's not Abercromie - because I don't personally like that brand, or most other brands like it.

I use it for books - but at semester, when the amount of books I have decreases, it'll be more like a purse.

My cousin has one, she uses it for a purse. She carries car keys, her camera, her billfold, and all those other essentials inside of it. I'm pretty sure hers is from American Eagle.

Granted, we're both sixteen.

But I know plenty of kids around twelve who use them.

Try talking to your cousin about purses. I was considering buying one of my friends a purse - and I started off the subject with my disgust of those trashy sequin things. It eventually got to the point where she told me exactly what she liked.

hi :]
16/f
well me and my mom were talking yesterday and shes like i think i might know something else to get you for christmas! and im like what? and shes like have you ever heard of the CHI straightener? and im like yea the one that costs like $200. i heard its suppose to be good but for anyone that uses it does it really work good or what because i will feel bad to have her like spend so much and have me not like it!! well thank you. (link)
To put it simply: LET HER BUY IT FOR YOU.

The Chi is amazing.

I have extremely unruly and coarse hair. It's curly as hell and I've done so much chemical stuff that it's not AS bad as it was.

But when my cousin moved in and her straightener became a product I could use (granted, I had my own cheaper ones) it was the best thing that ever happened.

Here are some pictures to let you get the full effect. (Sorry, they weren't taken one after another, and yes - I'm aware that in one of them my hair is red.)

With the chi.

Without the chi.

Ok so in my english class we have to present a speech thats 2 minutes long... I know I know, its not that long..... but when it comes to presentations and speeches i get sooooooooo nervous!!!!!!!!!! ANY TIPS ON HOW TO CONQUER THIS FEAR??????? please and thank you. (link)
Actually, unlike the answer before mine, it's not a good idea to stare at your paper.

This makes you audience feel like you are uninterested, and in turn, they will also be uninterested.

If looking at your class bothers you, pick a spot on the wall behind them, just above their heads. Slowly, as if you were making eye contact, make figure eights with your eyes - and return to your paper if you absolutely need to.

But if you do your figure eights too fast, you'll end up looking pretty stupid, no offense.

You need to use your stage fright to your own advantage.

Think about it this way - if you're nervous, there are probably other people in your class that are nervous as well.

Besides, there's also a likely chance that half of your class won't be paying attention anyway.

Good luck.

my myspace wont let people add me unless they know my last name/email. theres this thing in privacy settings that says "know last name" or something like that. i dont have it checked, but it still asks for it! how do i guess this so people dont have to type in my last name/email to add me? (link)
Actually, it's not a bug.

Depending on your age - that is a default. You cannot change it until you're old enough (when the age set on your myspace changes to like... sixteen or eighteen, I think. Because mine doesn't do it and I'm sixteen - but then again, it might and I might just be unaware.)

Basically - it's a sexual predator precaution.

Let's say you're 39, like my mom (who has myspace) when she added my younger sister - she had to know our last name or email so that she could add us.

The reason was the age difference.

Hope I helped.

Does anyone know where I can get these shoes?

http://i13.tinypic.com/3yp18o8.jpg

I know for a fact they're not Keds, or Vans.

Please help! Thank you. ♥ (link)
They look like some sort of skimmers.

That's not a brand, it's a shoe-type.

Try Hot Topic, or most shoe stores.

-----

Alright, so I decided to do more research on these shoes because I think they're way cute and I figured I'd share it with you.

www.punkrose.com

That's a company that makes some of the shoes (flats/skimmers) Hot Topic sells.

www.draven.com

That's another one.

ok i recently entered a poetry contest and well they wrote me after a while telling me they wanted me in washington d.c with a group of other deserving poets to the internation libary of poetry and the whos who the poet and the poem i think thts a book they wana publish my poem in and they said theres no fee of anything i actually get money for it..do you think its a load of bull ? or is it true? has anyone ever heard of it? well thx in advance... (link)
Sounds like Poetry.com

I've done this so many times - and I felt stupid each and every time I did it.

You do not get money for letting Poetry.com publish your poem - they do.

People buy these books for like, fifty bucks a piece, and you don't see a red cent - because it *says* you don't get anything.

All you get is the "glory of having one of your poems published."

It will get published, yes. You don't have to pay anything.

But you WILL NOT get paid for your work.

I have a lot of necklaces. But I have no way of keeping them organized. Right now they are all tangled in a little box.

Do you guys have any ideas/advice on how to help me get more organized?
(link)
If I personally had a bunch of necklaces - I wouldn't want them to be out in the open.

But that's only because I have a younger sister who is a total theif.

Try getting a hanger (assuming all your necklaces unclasp) and hang them on that. It is possible to decorate a hanger (with yarn, ect.) if you so wish.

And it'll hang neatly in any closet (or door handle, if that's what you want.)

How do you get a golden glow in two weeks? I just got a homecoming dress this weekend and it is black. It looks okay on me right now, but it would look much better if I had a little bit more color. Don't get me wrong: I do NOT want a deep tan or heavy bronzing. Just a nice, sun-kissed look. I was thinking about going to a tanning bed but I wasn't sure if I could get much color in two weeks since it would be my first time going to one of those. Please don't sugguest a self tanner unless you have personally used that brand. Most self tanners look fake and orange. Thanks in advance! (link)
Okay, so I like being pasty and pale - I'm a sad weirdo, I know.

But my mom, sisters and cousins don't.

Recently my mom found this stuff from Jergen's called "Natural Glow."

She has nothing but praise for this product, and I've even seen a change.

Try it, I'm sure it'll work. I hear it's goof proof, anti-streak.

I have AOL and would like to CLEAR the My History dropdown. I have tried History Sweep and it does not work. Does anything work? (link)
Clear your footprints!

Assuming you have the latest version of AOL (or any version that gives you this option.)

First hit settings.

When the menu pops up, find Internet [Web] Options.

Change the tab of the new window that pops up to "clear my footprints."

Then select the other "clear my footprints" button.

Click "yes" in the new window and tada!

Your history drop down should be cleared out.

I recently upgraded my AIM and now I keep getting kicked off AIM after a while.
This used to happen to me but it stopped after a while and now it started again. It is very frustrating. Why does this keep happening & what can I do about this? (link)
AIM can be a total whore sometimes, I know.

Have you tried completely uninstalling and then reinstalling the program?

There may be some corrupted files from the upgrade.

Hi, does anyone know any stores that carry purses with Marilyn Monroe on them? I know there a tons of places to order from offline, but I'd much rather go to a store and pick one up. It doesn't matter what store, name anything. Thanks! (link)
Check Spencer's Gifts (Spencer's, whatever it's called...) or Hot Topic.

I know for dead sure there is a Marilyn Monroe (Andy Warhol edition) tote bag floating around there somewhere.

Hope I helped.

okay well my hair isnt superstraight like how i would like it to be, its kinda wavy in some places and kinda straight in other places. its also poofy. i tried frizz control gels and they don't work. i don't want to use a straightner because i don't want to damage my hair more than it already is and plus my mom wont let me, so thats not even an option. i tried using the sunsilk for getting straight hair and that doesnt work. im sick of putting my hair in a ponytail everyday! i tried straightning moosses(sp?) straightning gels, NOTHING WORKS!please help me on what i should do? P.S. does that new Herbal Essences shampoo andconditioner for getting straight hair work?? thankssss sooooo much!!! (sorry iftheres alot of spelling errors, im in a hurry) (link)
My hair used to be SUPER curly/wavy/poofy. I had the worst hair ever.

And now it's super straight.

I used a relaxer.

Now, technically it's for african american hair.

I'm white as they come.

If you use it (it's chemical based, kind of like hair dye, so your mom or whoever might now like the idea if blowdryers/straighteners don't work.)

But the key... after the relaxer, that is... is to condition A LOT.

Sorry if this doesn't help, but good luck!

I want to put up posters and drawings on my wall of my favorite rock bands but my mom won't let me. What should I do? She's way too overprotective and I hate it. Got any ideas.
How do I make my mom less overprotective.
by the way i'm 14/f (link)
Does your mom not want you to put posters up because she doesn't approve of the music you listen to or because that tape/tacks/nails will hurt the walls?

Here, I'll divide this into two sections to make it easier for either situation.

a) If your mom doesn't want you to put posters up because she doesn't approve of the music you listen to:

1. Try telling her about how each of these bands inspire you.
2. Let her listen to the music, explain the good points of each song.
3. Tell her that you're just trying to express and be yourself. If you don't ever learn to be your own person and like the things you like (because you like them, and not because other people do) you'll always be a follower!

b) If your mom doesn't want you to put posters up because she thinks tape/tacks/nails will hurt your walls:

1. At Spencer's Gifts (at least that's where I got them) they have poster adhesive. They're these little spongey square pads that are sticky on both sides, and they come off the wall pretty darn easy (didn't even tear the paint)!
2. The next best thing to poster adhesive is velcro.

Don't laugh!

They sell little round pieces of velcro in the fabric section of any Wal-Mart or Hobby Lobby (ect.) and that would work great too!
