my myspace wont let people add me unless they know my last name/email. theres this thing in privacy settings that says "know last name" or something like that. i dont have it checked, but it still asks for it! how do i guess this so people dont have to type in my last name/email to add me?

Depending on your age - that is a default. You cannot change it until you're old enough (when the age set on your myspace changes to like... sixteen or eighteen, I think. Because mine doesn't do it and I'm sixteen - but then again, it might and I might just be unaware.)
Basically - it's a sexual predator precaution.
Let's say you're 39, like my mom (who has myspace) when she added my younger sister - she had to know our last name or email so that she could add us.
summerGIRL_xo answered Friday November 10 2006, 8:45 pm: the same thing happened to me, and some of my other friends. i think myspace has technical difficulties a lot, so it might do this for a few days, and then switch back to normal. you could try changing your age to a little bit older (like 17ishh), because when i did this it stopped asking for my last name/email even when there was technical difficulties. =] [ summerGIRL_xo's advice column | Ask summerGIRL_xo A Question ]
