Advicenators discussion: the fires

are close enough to me for me to see in the sky and hear on the news, but they are not close enough for me to breathe in ashes or evacuate my house.
matt is further away (i think) from them than i am, but a lot of freeways separate me from the blazes.
a few of my friends in areas that are affected, though, ahve evacuated and have no school.
we had an unrelated electrical problem today at school, though, so we had to evacuate.
i just went home (my dad came to pick me up). it was really hot.
the scary part is that we're in a drought, and so there really isn't the water needed to fight the blazes. :/

okay. it's been declared an emergency as of today (california hard at work) and so really big planes that drop fire retardant are on their way...as are a few fire trucks from arizona.
my first loss thoug was today. for choir, we go to a weekend camp to practice and stuff once a year, and it doesn't exist anymore. :[

Haha. Yeah, my mom is working like 12/14 hour shifts at her radio station just to keep things covered.
All of our activities ahve been cancelled, too, Matt. Well, except for choir. But we're not allowed to leave the building to go outside. I had to fight with the parents that chaperone us to let me go to the drama show for which my teacher had alrady given me permission.

I actually saw the fire when we were coming back from our camping trip in Lassen. I almost thought that a volcano erupted there, there was so much smoke. And that was just the beginnings of the fire.
