Hello! These are SERIOUS questions about bettering myself!
Question Posted Thursday June 23 2016, 9:18 am
First off, I accidentally got my hair cut way too short. So I was wondering if anyone had any tips on naturally growing it out. How to make my hair the healthiest it can be. I'd TRULY appreciate it beyond words! :)
I also have some questions.
I've always been SUPER angry and have angry outbursts a lot due to my irritation towards my horrifying depression and anxiety. So it's like every single thing makes me angry. I've been working on it and I've really accomplished it almost! :D I've been singing very happily and cheerfully in my mind a very positive word like "peachy" and "happy." I was wondering if anyone had any other tips on how to actually be able to soon deal with my anger so easily and quickly that no one even notices that I'm angry anymore. :O
I was wondering what are the BEST traits in a person's personality. I'm not trying to change who I am in any way, so please don't say that. I'm just trying to improve myself as a person, because I know I'm not that good of a person.
I mean, I do try all I can to help EVERYONE - even those I don't know or who have been harsh to me. I'm willing to sacrifice all the money I have to help ANYONE and to sacrifice ALL my sleep if someone needed a friend in the middle of the night. My dream career is helping people - senior caregiving, to be exact. I either wanted to do that, because I adore the elderly with all my heart or work at the mental hospital since my heart has always lived in mental health. But I choose senior caregiving.
I still think I could be a MUCH better person. Can anyone give me tips on being a better person? I just am dying to be the best person I can be!

If it's in various situations, there is usually a core issue that makes you angry. Anger is a good barometer of how you feel. Just because you feel anger doesn't mean you have to act on it. It's like pain. Don't ignore the pain but try to figure out where it's coming from. Athletics, and other things can channel your anger but ultimately, you need to understand it better. If it's just impulsivity (flying off the handle because you're frustrated) you need to understand that too and learn to control it. BTW, I commend you on beginning the process of introspection. It's a valuable skill to have. [ AskAuntEmma's advice column | Ask AskAuntEmma A Question ]

However, I am not an admin, and I don't really mind, and I'm also on a journey of self-improvement so your post really stood out to me.
For your hair there's not much you can really do to grow it out faster, unfortunately it's one of those things that just takes time. I use coconut oil once every couple of weeks to keep it healthy.
While I don't have a lot of experience with anger, I do have a lot of experience with out of control emotions. I also have depression and anxiety, and I get upset or overwhelmed frequently which used to result in embarrassing public behavior to cope (so many tears)
I recommend you dedicate yourself to changing your mindset. This is what I'm doing, and using Google to help me learn about keeping a positive attitude has helped me a TON. It sounds simple or even cheesy but it really does help keep things positive. I also have began doing yoga, and meditating which I highly recommend even if it's only 3 minutes a day. It give you so much more clarity and time for reflection about your progress, and what still needs improving, and what you can do to help your progress.
The best personality traits are subjective meaning everyone has their own opinion about what is the best traits to have.
As you can prpbably tell, I would say a positive attitude and mindfulness are very important and will get you far in life.
Caring for the elderly is a very difficult job- and I commend you for it. I have worked in elderly care myself and while it's not for me, I respect anyone caring for our seniors. I always tried to remember to treat them like my mother. And I loved comforting them and holding their hands and hearing their stories.
Don't sell yourself short- you sound young but your heart seems to be in the correct place. Self improvement is not a one time and done thing but a life long process and I feel many people don't think about being their best anymore. There's always something else you can be working on.
Now here's where I get crazy.....
I have been reading about Hinduism and while I don't think I will be a dedicated hindu I am trying to incorporate their morals into my own life. They consider all life as sacred, and practice vegetarianism for that reason. They also believe in karma, and improving yourself so that one day your soul will be at peace. Even if it's not for you it cannot be a bad thing to learn more and educate yourself. Education will help you be a better person!
FAIRYGODMTHR answered Friday June 24 2016, 1:14 am: For your hair, the best answer is to make sure you are eating a healthy, nutritious diet. Supplements and all of that could help, but you want to grow healthy hair from the inside. For your anger, try inner child meditation on YouTube.
Start with 2 sessions a week before bed or in the morning after you wake up. Extreme anger is usually just pent up sadness and hurt from childhood.
