I like soadorable__x3's answer and this is just the type of problem a professor or teacher is pair to help with. I would suggest that you leave out the part about not finding anything interesting. Just say you are having trouble choosing a topic and if he/or she can make some suggestions.

There is just so much to chose from with History I find it hard to believe you do not find anything about History to interest them. Yes some of the stuff like the Rise and Fall of Roman Empire or the Parthians takes a real History Buff.

Where you start is to look back on what topics were covered in the History classes you have taken. There has to be something in all the history covered that you can write a decent paper on.

You are studying something you don't like and are uninterested in? That's - tough.

Find out your instructor's pet little historical theory, and write a paper agreeing with that.

Or write a serious paper defending some historical premise that no-one could take seriously.

Or do the opposite - find some crazy historical theory and attempt to write a reasoned rebuttal to it.

As someone who is interested in history I find it slightly shocking that you cannot think of anything that you're interested in. There are so many things to explore but it would be helpful we knew what area of history that you are studying.

While I do not know how large or small the university that you attend is, I suggest that you go to a history professor who you respect for some help. Most history professors already have an area of history that they are interested in, and have pursued doctorates in the subject. If you are totally clueless they tend to be a good resource and most professors would feel flattered that you are asking them for help.

Another thing that you could possibly do is do some research on historical topics focusing on the area that you would like to go into some day.
