Most women, 85%, are in there fertile time between the 5th and 21st days of their cycle. This is the time when they are most likely to eject an egg for fertilization. The other 15% of women can be fertile during any time of their cycle including when having their period. Knowing when you ovulate and eject an egg goes a long way in know when you are the most fertile.
Having unprotected sex and not being on any other form of birth control you would be on the edge of being fertile 5 days after your period. Your chances of getting pregnant would be low but possible. If that 5th day was yesterday you could still take the plan "B" pill as it has been none to be effective for up to 7 days after unprotected sex. ]
It's possible. Are you using birth control of any kind? If you are, and have been using it properly, you are most likely not pregnant. No birth control is 100% effective, but proper usage will get you about 99% effectiveness.
If you had unprotected sex, it's possible that you've ovulated by now, eespecially if your cycle is inconsistent. Sperm can also hang around for days afterward and fertilize an egg. If it's been less than five days (but, ideally, three) you can get the morning after pill. If you're in the US, it's available over the counter. A prescription option, Ella, is effective for five.
In the future, use protection. If you're in a monogamous relationship and STDs (sexually tansmitted diseases) aren't an issue, a hormonal method or copper IUD (intrauterine device) are your best bets. They're highly effective - IUDs actually have been on par or better than permanent sterilization - and require minimal to no prep work. If you meed STD protection, condoms (especially with another method for backup) will provide protection against STDs.
Lastly, if your period is late, take a pregnancy test or visit a doctor/clinic for a test.
