Many people become fixated on a remark that could have been said and then go to the extreme. There is also a lot of media hype for people to appear the part, size 0 seems extremely popular and if you don't fit in you will not go far sort of mentality.
Some diets over fast solution ideals others are to slow for many people to me everyone should realise they're who they are.Yes overweight isn't good for you but, so is being underweight.
The individual suffering from the eating disorder needs to realise they have a problem and wish help else the treatment can't help. [ GarrettHnatiuk's advice column | Ask GarrettHnatiuk A Question ]

This is the type of illness where the adage "You can lead a horse to water but can't make them drink," is very appropriate. If you are the one with the eating disorder you have not only taken the first step, you have taken the biggest step to getting your life back.
The next step is a visit to the family doctor. This is a two-fold step. First the patient needs to have a complete physical to see what if any damage has been done by the eating disorder and what steps are needed to fix or correct that damage. Electrolyte imbalance is one of the biggest problems of some eating disorders such as bulimia.
The next part is the referral to the appropriate doctor or treatment center to help the patient overcome the eating disorder. Depending on the disorder and how deep the disorder is imbedded in the patient. It may mean inpatient treatment may be required. Many times intensive outpatient therapy will be all that is needed as long as the patient is compliant with the treatment.
The short answer to your question is: The treatment varies depending on the type of eating disorder. How much harm has been done to the patient by the disorder? Is the patient being compliant with the treat and asked for help or being in some manner forced into treatment?
I wish I could give you a yes or no answer, it is not that simple. It all depends on the answers to the questions above as to the type of help each patient will receive. [ adviceman49's advice column | Ask adviceman49 A Question ]
jupiter1963 answered Friday March 7 2014, 5:40 pm: Talking, you need to talk to someone & they can get you help.
You can very rarely deal with this on your own but you can help. Look in the mirror & tell yourself you're beautiful because you are. You're weight does not define your self worth. Your self respect empowers you. Beauty is not a number on a scale, true beauty is based on the content of your character. Be strong. [ jupiter1963's advice column | Ask jupiter1963 A Question ]

roseyapple answered Friday March 7 2014, 12:29 pm: I think it is mostly counselling that is offered as it is usually psychological the reasoning behind them. Sometimes people think they are big because their friends are smaller than them and some think that it is acceptable to look like a catwalk model.
