I want to be an actress.
I have been practicing a few monologues I found online. But every time I do, I consider more and more what it would be like to actually audition. I have no idea what to expect. I guess this question is for anyone who has auditioned maybe? I know Bella Thorne uses this website so hopefully you'll see this, Bella. What should I expect other than 10 pairs of eyes on me, watching my every move, and then taking pictures of me? I know they ask for a specific type, or they let me do whatever. How can I mentally prepare myself for that pressure? Thank you to anyone who answers. I'm 16/f.

Nobody is really sure exactly what casting directors are looking for when they are looking for actresses! Sometimes they have something exact in mind, or sometimes an auditionee can change their mind by doing something that works with the part.
The only way you can mentally prepare yourself is to practice to perfection to minimize the stress. Be polite, show off your talent and best features. When they take pictures do exactly as they say- if not, just smile- not to much though so your eyes are closed.
If they ask you to redo your speech in a certain way, do it. They want to know if you can take direction, and maybe youre giving them an idea.
Go to plenty of auditions- that's the best way to become an actress. Audition for everything! Including drama schools! Anything is a good start.
